  1. Good idea to start early, we did that during a land trip and that Agerola bus wasn't very frequent for us, so we ended up doing the 12:30? I think? We started the walk and didn't get to a town (I forget what it was) for a quick"er" bus to Positano until about 4 or so.....and we gave up on doing the stairs down to Positano and took the bus 🙂 We were done for 🙂 I wouldn't want to attempt that on a short time frame..... that is an amazing explanation @euro cruiser !
  2. and though this does not help specifically, have you tried looking at what types of excursions MIGHT be offered on CC? https://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/shore-excursions/port/560/
  3. No idea on most of your questions, but I know I took a ferry from Dublin to Holyhead on my way to Liverpool once...but I looked at a map and saw the "Anglesey Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty" on there and was HIGHLY amused 🙂
  4. My brain....the deck plan shows the spa forward, I KNOW there is a forward part of one of the decks that is mainly accessed by a stairwell from another one....is this it?

    Alaska tour help!

I am doing a land tour on my own and yes, going to Denali this year with my parents.....they are getting older, and seeing some of the park is better than none..... We are doing the train from Fairbanks->Denali->Anchorage->Seward to the cruise.....there are general points of interest along that general route (from what I have gathered) if you were to do it with a car too. There are many places to stop, and I know that your range of options get wider the closer you get to the coast. Alaska.org is actually a pretty fantastic resource and has a lot of information in one spot, linked to official websites.
  7. Excited to hear more! I saw your location of "Spanish Fork" and I was reminded of a bit that keeps coming up on my Brian Regan Pandora channel by comedian Kellen Erskine about High School mascots if you haven't heard it before 😉 I am always amused haha
  8. I was just being nosy and I saw that tomorrow the Theatre has.....an Olympic gymnast? innnnnteresting....
  9. I'm not anxious, because I have already done my research and have found (and made arrangements for) the adventures I want to go on 🙂 But I am excited!
  10. it would all depend on which train you took into which timing you would take into account, but the OP has now decided on the better way to spend her time, so back and forth is not needed anymore 🙂
  11. Alaska is less formal than Caribbean cruises I have heard, but there are also WIDE range of “dress your best” attires....on my Alaska ship, it coincided with the production show night, so I just dressed like I was going to the theatre...it was nice to do after being in outdoorsy/exercise clothes all week haha
  12. As they shared with me, they did this exact situation last year, parking at RRF and tendering....so it’s possible, and they expect to do that again. Unless there is something completely crazy that happens, their plans are still in place. There’s nothing really to “work out” unless something changes. Don’t fret about anything that hasn’t happened yet 🙂
  13. yeah, I just checked trenitalia and it says 2.5-4..... I would suggest using trenitalia.com to purchase (in advance, as close to the schedule release as possible you can get good discounts! is it early june I think?) as that is direct from the source.....
  14. I was trying to book a next day airport taxi with them a few years ago and they actually suggested another company to me, did they not for you?
  15. Just to add on, sometimes the strikes are only for CERTAIN types of things, there are sometimes only local bus/train strikes vs national or extra-urban bus/train strikes. But Italians work around them, so there are options. I knew about strikes during my visit to Italy and it ended up that the waterbus drivers in Venice were on strike the only full day I had in Venice. So I walked. I utilized the buses on the arrival and departure days and worked around it. When you arrive at FCO, go to buy your train ticket at the machine and it won't sell you a ticket for a train that doesn't exist. Easy peasy 🙂 Also, I have never incurred a national (frecce, the fast trains) train strike, so things are already looking up for you!
  16. Hopefully you can change your train tickets! (though I didn't realize those were on sale yet) I wouldn't want to make the trek from Rome to Venice and THEN another 2 hours to Ravenna on the same day, could you possibly go to Venice earlier from Rome and then leave sometime mid morning to get to Ravenna?
  17. YAY SALERNO! That is all I came to say, my home away from home 🙂
  18. we're on that 7:30 one as well, May 29th....I know it coincides with the rail schedule, the rail might realize it will be harder to get everyone on in time and move it back....one could only hope! haha
  19. I'll be keeping an eye on y'all then, as I will be there May 29th 🙂
  20. ooooo I should take a look next month to watch! I always assumed they were working, so I never noted anything.....

    Alaska tour help!

Since its a "cruise ship" port, they made it to work in conjunction with the native tribe (I am assuming Tlingit?) in the area, meaning most are through the cruise line. I do know that Hoonah Travel Adventures and Glacier Wind are the other ones.

I would go Sapphire as well, if you can constantly look at glaciers for more than 8 hours, you might need to look into a way more intensive glacier focused tour 😉 haha Inside passage is great for a day on the ship (instead of just water to look at) and ISP is a fantastic port 🙂
