The itinerary is similar to the one the Volendam is doing out of Fort Lauderdale this Nov-Dec which is a 42 day roundtrip with overnights and stops in Europe and Africa. The pricing appears to be similar with the major difference for the '25 trip being the sailing roundtrip out of NYC which is something that they haven't done much of in the last 10 years.

HAL's plans for the Volendam when it arrives in New York City after a 9 day cruise from Montreal on October 7, 2025 are finally starting to show up on 3rd party cruise sites. The ship will sail on a roundtrip 45 day transatlantic cruise to Europe and Africa with stops in a dozen countries including Portugal, Spain, and Greece, along with overnights in Rome(Italy), Alexandria(Egypt), and Istanbul(Turkey). After returning to NYC on November 21 it will sail on to an already scheduled 30 day Amazon Explorer cruise.

We had over 18 inches of snow here in Central New England last weekend. That's 45.72+ cm!! Just not sure how many dogs that would be.😉 -
Oh I agree that these were very likely not licensed service animals. If HAL allowed them on with whatever documentation that was provided then they need to take a closer look at that process. The more feedback they get from passengers like yourself and others about the issues then the more likely they will review their procedures.

If you look at my post #849 as referenced by @Haljo1935 above you will see right underneath the area I circled in the ADA requirements a statement regarding public food service areas and how service animals are generally allowed in them even if that overrules state and local health codes. Now what the policy in International Waters is I don't know but I do know that when the health inspectors come on board the ships they best not fine droppings from any dog or human for that matter in any food service areas.
-
But even with legitimate service dogs there are some areas where things can be challenged about their actions as noted here on the ADA page about requirements. @Haljo1935 rightfully so presented HAL management with information including photos that seem to validate violations of part 1 here. The dog(s) was unleashed and at one point even ran into her room after she opened her door. If a strange human being did that,(ran into her room when she opened the door), don't you think management would want to at the very least question that person about it?

As I understand it the ship's security team released this photo of a suspect of interest in the missing scooter incident onboard.😉

How Do Guests Feel About Thongs?

I agree and that's why I posted the above nine days ago. Long before they were known as Donkeys the real name of these animals that goes back to the Latin roots was asinus. We need to respect A**es cuz after all it is the 2020's now. https://veryinformed.com/why-are-donkeys-called-jackasses/#Conclusion
