Adios LLP. Your decision to eliminate traditional balconies on the E-class ships for non-suite guests has sent me to other cruise lines and ended my loyalty to Celebrity.

MSC's ship within a ship concept is probably a good choice for the suite guests that want to leave Celebrity but the comparisons don't look as good for the non-suite guests. As a non-suite guest I'm looking to move to HAL for longer more interesting itineraries. It will be interesting to see how it works out. As a non-suite guest, the lack of traditional balconies on the E-class was the final straw sending me to the exit gate.

I'll bet you thought there would always be smoking in the casino in all ships. NEVER GIVE UP.

Never give up. Celebrity has really restricted smoking on board, no reason HAL can't do the same.

If the smoke affects other areas, perhaps HAL needs to move the smoking area.

Just for clarity, it's only a replica of a Mercury capsule. Not the real thing.

The Rotterdam is the newest ship in the fleet with all of latest bells and whistles, you may not enjoy the older ships after you have been on the Rotterdam. What type of cabin would you book? If you are thinking about one of the longer voyages, perhaps you should sail a different itinerary on a ship in the same class as used on the longer voyages. I don't think any of these ships are used on the longer voyages. The ships used on the longer voyages are older and there are not any balcony cabins that are not the more expensive suite cabins. Duh, I'm not sure anyone on our cruise ever saw it open.

The Sun Deck is a big place, I'm sure HAL can find a solution up there. How about the Sun Bar that isn't used for anything else.

I was looking at booking a B2B on the Rotterdam and it appears that there are several openings in the schedule. Any idea when they will fill in the holes?

The Deck 9 Seaview Pool area serves as an outdoor dining area for the Lido buffet. They serve coffee and juice in the morning during the breakfast hours.

That crew smoking area exists on the Rotterdam, I'm not sure about other Pinnacle class ships, but it is a crew only area. I think you could find another area on the top deck and make it available for the guests to smoke.

How about eliminating all indoor smoking on the Pinnacle Class ships? Celebrity has already implemented this policy, so not very extreme. How about moving the smoking area from the area by the Sea View pool on the Pinnacle Class ships to the top deck near the crew smoking area?

You're absolutely correct and I wouldn't try to stop you. However, I will take every opportunity to tell HAL that they need to make some changes to the smoking policy on Pinnacle Class ships and there is nothing you can do about it. 😆 HAL has dramatically improved the smoking policy in recent years and I hope they continue to improve the smoking policy.

Your experience is far different than many other cruisers.

You're absolutely correct but don't pretend that it doesn't affect the majority of people on the ship. The majority of passengers need to make adjustments because of a handful of smokers.

And if you want to be at the adult pool?

I'm happy for you and I believe you. Unfortunately, many people experience a lot of second smoke in the nonsmoking side by the pool. Please believe and accept the experiences of many other cruisers in the non-smoking area by the pool. Many cruisers experience a lot of second hand smoke in that area.
