It is hot here. We are beginning a very long heat wave. Expecting 90 today and temperatures in the 90s well into next Thursday. I have to keep an eye on Fancy because she loves laying in the sun, I have to make her come in. I will also be watering the plants almost every day. I dislike summer very much. I have a meeting, a client, grading of assignments and finishing the results section of my dissertation.

It will be a hot one today. Blazing sun as we head into a heat wave. A week of temperatures in the 90s. Looks like I will be watering the garden quite frequently. 

Getting back on track after traveling last week. Ended two classes so grading final assignments will take most of my day. The system has been down for one of the universities and I cannot access the classroom there. A new class starts today. I am seeing larger class sizes. No increase in pay though. Oh well.

Heading into a bit of a heat wave this week. Highs in the upper 80s and 90s. Looks like summer showed up early. Yesterday I washed all the curtains, living room furniture covers, and bedding. Today I will finish with the garden. My family will have a little get together via Zoom this afternoon.

Good Friday morning. Thank you for the Daily and Fleet reports.

I have returned from my trip to Charlotte. The conference was a great experience. Was so busy that I have not had a chance to catch up with CC. My presentation was a success as well. Met lots of wonderful colleagues. 

Today, its back to work. I have to grade final papers for one class. I start a new class next week of 20 students. I think this university where I teach is hiring less adjuncts and increasing class sizes. 

While away, I was able to make reservations for dining for my cruise on the NCL Sky in October. 117 days to go. I have read a lot of people complaining about this ship, on all cruise lines really. I am not a fancy person so, if there is food, I will eat it. I will always find something good to eat on a cruise ship. Next year will be Eurodam to Alaska. Who knows where in 2026. There could be a transatlantic. Maybe?

Was busy yesterday making up work due to travel so I missed posting. My conference starts this afternoon. Looking forward to it. This is the first time I am spending my birthday away from my family. I will have to figure out a way to celebrate. The drink of the day sounds like a good start.

I did make it to Charlotte. Flights were uneventful. I got to the hotel around 2 and took a nap as I got up early at 3 am. Been busy catching up on some work.

Sunny today with a high of 79. Wrapping things up as I prepare to travel to North Carolina tomorrow. Still have to pack. Tomorrow will be a very early day having to get up ta 3. I have a car service taking me to the airport. At east I can take a nap once I get to the hotel.

Sunny, high of 83 today. Lots of grading of assignments today and I still must finish up the slides for my presentation. I am flying out to Charlotte on Saturday. That means getting up extremely early to get to the airport. I will make sure that I have lots of coffee. Looking forward to getting away though.

Highs in the 80s and sunny today. Expecting the 80s all week. I looked outside today after waking up to find that a racoon had pulled down and destroyed two bird feeders and dumped the waste bucket we have for composting. Busy little creatures. Off to Lowes for new feeders.

I was in Canada/New England on the NCL Pearl in 2022 and will be going back this October on the NCL Sky. I love Canada/New England. My first cruise was a 7-day Boston round trip. This was my very first cruise ever. I went with my sister. We sailed from Boston, Charlottetown, Sydney, Halifax, Portland, Bar Harbor, and back to Boston. The ports were all very walkable with Bar Harbor being a tender port. With the exception of Boston (it poured), the weather was beautiful. Lots to see in the ports. We chose not to book excursions because we like to do things ourselves. 

Our cruise coming up is a 10-day cruise sailing from Quebec. Very excited about this as I have never been to Quebec. This trip we will be seeing Quebec, Saguenay, Charlottetown, Sydney, Halifax, Bar Harbor, Portland, Boston, and finally Baltimore. We have a couple of excursions planned this time around, but we will just walk the ports. 

My sister and I are in our 60s and loved just walking around and seeing the sites. I guess it depends on what interests you. The ports were so beautiful, and we did see the fall colors

Beautiful sunny and chilly morning. Just the way I like it. Plan is to clean out the last of the garden beds. Putting the plants into the ground hopefully tomorrow.

Sunny and a high of 70 today. Fancy is being treated for Lyme Disease. She had it before I adopted her, and her vet says this is either the same infection that was not treated appropriately or this is a new infection. She is not showing symptoms, but we have to watch her kidneys as they can be impacted by the disease. 

Nothing else planned for today except the usual paperwork.

After several thunderstorms yesterday, the sun is out. Temperatures have dropped which I love. Today sunny and a high of 71. Just a regular workday for me with several clients and my live class.

My Anchorage experience last year did not go as planned. Our goal was to fly into Anchorage, settle into the hotel and do some sightseeing a day before our cruise on Nieuw Amsterdam which was sailing out of Whittier. Mind you was coming from Pennsylvania. We flew out of Philadelphia to Charlotte, then to Dallas where we met up with my brother and sister-in-law. We were to fly from Dallas to Anchorage. Well. our flight out of Dallas was delayed by several hours as they looked for a replacement pilot as ours was pulled for another flight. Needless to say, we did not get to Anchorage and our hotel until midnight Anchorage time.

I realized I missed yesterday. Been very busy. Had three hours of meetings yesterday and I continue to get my presentation together for my conference. 

Some sun and maybe some showers today. Going to the chiropractor this morning and then more grading of assignments.

Today will be 86 and mostly sunny. I will be outside pulling weeds today. Fancy enjoyed her walk in the park yesterday. she is a little stiff this morning. Expecting rain tomorrow so we are trying to get as much outside stuff done today.
