  1. Just done this cruise. Not many shuttles in Norway and the couple we had were free.
  2. Just off Aurora (Cabin E151). Very comfortable, seaview. Great Norway cruise. Enjoy!
  3. No. Definitely 6 and 8. Thought it was strange!
  4. Nitpicking. Obviously I was not talking about everyone, just me!
  5. Plus, I do not want to travel to Dover (or Tilbury)! Southampton is easy for me.
  6. There is a ferry in Mykonos that goes from the port to the town pier.
  7. It's the "knit and natter" lot that bother me! All those clacking needles!!! JOKE!.
  8. Britannia used to have a good selection of films on the cabin TV. Don't know if they still do as I did not look last time. Have seen latest releases in the theatre though.
  9. Have stayed at Holiday Inn over 50 times with no problem. Mind you, my car is not worth nicking (and there are always lots of more expensive vehicles there)!
  10. Lots queueing at 5.30 for freedom opening at 6. Think they may be after tables for two, of which there are not many. I always dine fixed at 8. No queues! Fixed times on Aurora were 6 and 8.
  11. Also, look at some of the hotels' cruise packages. Usually include room, parking for 15 nights, breakfast and taxi to and from ship. Have used them many times. Very convenient and an extra night's holiday.
  12. I don't need speciality restaurants, WiFi, room service, coffee, ice cream, etc. P&O balcony cabins are quite big enough for me on my own. Obc pays mostly for my drinks and occasional excursion then 10% off. So these extras are not worth the additional cost for me. Saga small ships do look nice though. Maybe in future.
  13. On Arcadia Xmas cruise with doors open all night, people we're wearing coats in the pub! Expect that when going North at that time of year though.
  14. Would not pay that much for a 14 nighter. Paid just over £4000 for balcony on Arcadia in July. 19 nights, plus £480 obc. Better value and from Southampton.
  15. 19 nights. Not many Greek islands cruises from Southampton so very popular, and Aurora too.
  16. Best act I have seen is Cream of Clapton (on four ships). He certainly can spank a plank!
  17. I have seen bad behaviour occasionally on all the ships, and on Cunard, Celebrity, etc. You cannot blame it on the cost of the cruise. People who pay cheap prices should not be Insulted. Cruising is for everyone.
  18. Try cruising solo on Arcadia and Aurora with a balcony. Inside cabin in October nearly £4000, all other cabins sold out.
  19. Yes, they used to do lots of curries. Personally I do not like the formal night menus but instead have chips which are lovely, with mayo.
  20. On Aurora last week in Force 12, water was pouring in from decks under the doors. Carpets were soaked and people on bar stools were surrounded by water. Mopping up and many towels did the trick!
  21. Never done a solo meeting but they are popular with those who want company. Glad they do them. Same as the other get togethers.
  22. Probably not so many Ligurians and Baltic's on new ships. Plus Iona has no venue suitable to hold such a private event. It was very well attended.
  23. Some people have insides because they cannot afford seaview or balcony. They deserve to cruise as much as the rest of us.
  24. Was a Peninsular cocktail evening on Aurora last week. Back to normal with choice of any drink you want. Very generous with the booze too!
