Britannia used to have a good selection of films on the cabin TV. Don't know if they still do as I did not look last time. Have seen latest releases in the theatre though.
Have stayed at Holiday Inn over 50 times with no problem. Mind you, my car is not worth nicking (and there are always lots of more expensive vehicles there)!
Lots queueing at 5.30 for freedom opening at 6. Think they may be after tables for two, of which there are not many. I always dine fixed at 8. No queues! Fixed times on Aurora were 6 and 8.
Also, look at some of the hotels' cruise packages. Usually include room, parking for 15 nights, breakfast and taxi to and from ship. Have used them many times. Very convenient and an extra night's holiday.
I don't need speciality restaurants, WiFi, room service, coffee, ice cream, etc. P&O balcony cabins are quite big enough for me on my own. Obc pays mostly for my drinks and occasional excursion then 10% off. So these extras are not worth the additional cost for me. Saga small ships do look nice though. Maybe in future.
Would not pay that much for a 14 nighter. Paid just over £4000 for balcony on Arcadia in July. 19 nights, plus £480 obc. Better value and from Southampton.
I have seen bad behaviour occasionally on all the ships, and on Cunard, Celebrity, etc. You cannot blame it on the cost of the cruise. People who pay cheap prices should not be Insulted. Cruising is for everyone.
On Aurora last week in Force 12, water was pouring in from decks under the doors. Carpets were soaked and people on bar stools were surrounded by water. Mopping up and many towels did the trick!
