  1. Obviously there has to be some sort of boarding protocol, particularly on the big ships, otherwise it would be chaos and overcrowding. Just turn up at your allotted time. Luckily I am Ligurian and don't use the big ships, so no problem!
  2. Yes. On here 4 lunches and 4 cocktail parties. But this is Aurora!
  3. On this Aurora cruise there are over 1000 club members so needed 4 cocktail parties!
  4. Depends on what sort of cabin you want. As I said, you get what you pay for. Worth it to me.
  5. You are talking about Arvia. Totally different cruising experience. Each to their own.
  6. No problem getting into shows, etc, as venues on small ships are big enough for the number of pax. Hence no need for pre booking.
  7. It is. So was my cruise on her last month. Get what you pay for.
  8. Simple answer. If you want spontaneity and not to be constantly organizing yourself, stick to the smaller ships. Lovely on Aurora at present. No queues, no pre booking, no stress!
  9. Last month I took no cash. Used card for everything.
  10. Seen some hair disasters on board! Get it done at home or ashore!
  11. Saw a handbag on Iona for over £1000. My cruise (balcony) cost less than that!
  12. Currently in Sardinia and sailing for Croatia tonight. Will make the most of it!
  13. On her again next month. Lovely ship, apart from the plumbing!
  14. C deck is best. Biggest balconies, partly private and partly overlooked. Best of both worlds, but standard size cabin.
  15. At captain's welcome party he mentioned the 2025 brochure included Aurora. Hope she continues until then but nothing is guaranteed. However, a lot of money has obviously been spent on her recently, particularly all the new deck furniture and tv's (could do with both on Ventura!)
  16. The Dutch side is better than the French on St Maarten too IMO.
  17. Prefer the Dutch ABC islands to the French ones.
  18. It is not the size of the ship, it is the ambience and amount of overcrowding I dislike. Britannia (about 10 times) is fine for me. Circa 3600 pax is enough. Prefer adults only too, hence two small ships best for me.
