  1. Reports of hundreds on Arcadia in isolation are worrying (if true). Am on her in two weeks time.
  2. Bought a spare Randox test this morning just before email came in. Now trying to cancel and get a refund!
  3. Exactly, not the capital as some think.
  4. Not been too bad down here as we have had a consistent cooling sea breeze. Glad I do not live in London any more!
  5. Well organized. Have a great holiday.
  6. Yes, have met some who never get off. Might as well stay in a good all inclusive hotel -would probably be cheaper! Still cannot count on the weather though.
  7. I wish they would not call the destination Monte Carlo. It is Monaco, which has no capital. Monte Carlo is merely the hill on which the casino is situated! Sorry to be pedantic! 😊
  8. Serenity pool is adult only and peaceful (although can be busy) and free, as are meals on board. On port days and in bad weather you may not use the Retreat so could be a waste of money.
  9. The test at Lloyd's is observed. You do it yourself watched by a pharmacist who checks the result and issues the certificate. However, Lloyd's has a reputation for cancelling appointments so beware and have a Plan B!
  10. The new mega ships are basically floating resorts. Great if you want to sit on your balcony and look at a load of cranes and containers!
  11. There were cabanas the same as Britannia on Royal Princess but that was some years ago. The Sanctuary is not the same as The Retreat.
  12. Confusion between Serenity on Britannia and Sanctuary on Princess maybe? Will need to check it out.
  13. That is a quick change then, must have been done in Southampton during turn around. I got off on 26 June and nothing changed then. Still confused about dollars though?
  14. Are you talking about Britannia? Cannot see how that is going to work out! Not really cabanas there, just a wooden frame. No electricity for a minibar. P&O do not charge in dollars either! Think he might be referring to Celebrity who do have chargeable cabanas around the lawn area. There is no pool in the Retreat either.
  15. Plenty of relaxing days at home (or in a hotel) - on a cruise I want to visit places! These cruises are turning into seacations! Getting worried about the next one in a couple of weeks as it is very expensive and booked it because there are some ports I have not visited, which is rare.
  16. That's the problem with using that there Google!😆
  17. Serenity is always busy as it is very popular, especially when lots of kids on board!
  18. If your insurance has extra cruise cover you should be able to claim for a missed, scheduled, port but not for a change of itinerary. However, make sure you get a letter confirming missed port before you disembark to provide to the insurer.
  19. Mini bars have been empty since resumption. I prefer it as I never used the contents and like to put plenty of tap water in to chill - plus the occasional bottle of wine!
  20. Paid 12 quid for mine recently. Been ordering and using them on my android phone with no problem. Think you may be looking at an old advert.
  21. Correct. Always use Serenity pool as it has some shady bits and comfy seating. Quiet too. Never tried Retreat as it is expensive and I cannot see the point of it for me.
  22. Lots of Lloyd's cancellations. Best to have a back up!
  23. On my last cruise a couple of weeks ago there was no Bon Viveure on the ship, just some awful house wine.
  24. Blame on line shopping. But it is sometimes the only reason I leave the house, plus often the stuff you get does not resemble the picture on line!
