  1. That’s only for mega rockstar. But to answer the OP I’ve not heard of anyone else having that issue. Lock it in rate cabins only get assigned 3 weeks to 3 days before and most people want to book excursions earlier than that. I’m guessing you are sailing on Brilliant Lady though? That ship isn’t ready yet so I don’t think the app is working properly for it, but travel agents have been able to book excursions.
  2. most has been covered above 4. I think social insider is four single bunk beds. If you want a double you need a regular insider. 5. At all the current ports, earliest check in time for non-rockstar (suite) sailors is about 2pm and latest is about 4-4.30pm. I expect it will be the same in San Juan. 6. Fitness classes, activities/classes and shows can only be booked onboard. Prioritise in that order as fitness is often small groups. 8. There are often the main big shows at 7pm and 10pm or thereabouts, so plan dinner either at 7/8 to see the 10pm show or at 8.30 to see the 7pm one. However there can often be trivia and smaller shows at 6pm so depends what you want to get up to. The line up which shows at 45 days out often only shows the major stuff. Allow 90 minutes for dinner most nights, Test Kitchen and Gunbae will be about 90. On Scarlet night go to the roundabout staircase for 9pm, it’s nice to see the night kick off, then wander deck 7 for a bit as there will be small shows around.
  3. Assuming the next year meant 2024, Scarlet Lady is homeport in Barcelona May to October 2024 and those cruises are on sale. So it is currently expected dry dock in November 2024 and reposition back to Miami December 2024. There is almost no chance Scarlet Lady will be in Northern Europe in 2024, any references are probably meant to be Brilliant Lady or were placeholders while they were deciding what to do with BL.
  4. Normally bids are confirmed between a week and a day before the cruise. They want to try and sell rooms at full price first.
  5. I think that’s why the party at the pool shuts down shortly after midnight. But the assumption also is that most people will be at the party, it’s the biggest one of the cruise and followed by a sea day which allows for lie-ins.
  6. yeah I mis-read your post, sort of merged the two sentences together!
  7. VL can’t take over the BL transatlantic as Scarlet is also doing a transatlantic and therefore if Valiant did too then all four ships would be in Europe! Valiant taking over the San Juan seems plausible and then moving back to Miami when Scarlet comes to Europe. But what happens to the BL transatlantic is the question. The Scarlet one seems to be fairly well booked so I doubt they could move everyone over.
  8. I’m going to test it next month and see if we do get the $100 each or not.
  9. the “mistake” is applying to everyone, I’ve seen others report that the $100 bar tab does apply to each person (even if it isn’t meant to be) but the rest of the DBE are per cabin.
  10. What was the agreement when you “bought” the deposit voucher from the TA? Did the TA charge you the deposit value and explain they will put that down as your deposit?
  11. Dining can be booked 45 days before, unless in a suite when it is 60 days. Many reservations are held back to be booked onboard so the advance ones can fill up quickly.
  12. That’s pretty much what Valiant Lady did when in Portsmouth last time before the bachelor charter. Three night cruises to zeebrugge followed by 11 night trips to the carnary islands.
  13. Assume you are travelling solo then? Across two of us we got through $600-700 in a seven night trip. But it means you can buy fresh-pressed juice instead of the free one and get more espresso based coffee instead of drip. Also the pairings at Test Kitchen are $45 so use a good amount of it too!
  14. Promo terms still says $125, see promotion 46 https://www.virginvoyages.com/promotional-terms-and-conditions?item=eee20376-324c-42b9-ab0a-71a23e9a34f4
  15. Given people have seen the ship is in schedules for Northern Europe it is already assumed there will be some kind of Lisbon to Portsmouth or Amsterdam type sailing. But there is nothing in the terms of the current promotion that suggests what Brilliant Lady is doing in summer 2024, the promo for that ship only applies to the Caribbean sailings through to 13 April 2024.
  16. But the current offer only applies to Brilliant Lady sailings through to 13 April, so doesn’t apply to any new itineraries for that ship at present. Whereas for Scarlet Lady the terms show December 2024 dates the offer does apply to, but aren’t on sale yet.
  17. Shows and activities can only be booked once onboard. For restaurants you should be able to book in advance but it’s likely the allocation for advance booking is all fully booked. Once onboard more reservations will be available, only about half the capacity can be pre-booked and it is possible to do walk ins most of the time.
  18. Vibe on the ship is both very chilled and a party, it can switch between events and locations. There might be the awesome 80s party in the Manor nightclub while the casino right outside is buzzing, a live soul band in On the Rocks bar but at Sip champagne bar it’s quiet and very chilled. Average age when we were on Resilient Lady in June was probably in the 40s. Not too many 20-something but plenty of 30 and 40 year olds and a good crowd of 50-70 but like to enjoy themselves. Due to the port stops there are many people off the ship in the daytime so evenings can be a bit subdued but there was still a good crowd for all the shows (which are excellent on Resilient) and a decent number on the dance floor at parties. This advert is obviously a stager advert but actually does show the ships well and the sort of crowd feels accurate.
  19. I know BL isn’t finished yet, hence my post about it being a weird situation where you can’t do check in yet, whereas on the other ships you can check in immediately after booking.
  20. There are 12 Happenings cast but some manage more events than others, some of the cast do dance events or assist at others only. There is, the Hostess, the Diva, the Gamer, the Foodie, the Artist, the Balancer, the Charmer as the major cast, they generally run most of the activities or star in shows. Then the Hype, the Flare, the Spark, the Glow and the Bounce, they run dance classes and assist with other activities as well as performing dance at parties.
  21. It’s weird because Brilliant Lady is a new ship so not on the app yet, but for the other ships you can start check in immediately after booking, so I expect as soon as the app is working for BL you’ll be able to check in. Then at 120 days book excursions and 45 days book dining.
  22. Dining on VV is like being on land, you make reservations, check in with the host and then waiting staff take the order. You aren’t stuck to certain times and the servers stick to the same restaurant. Movies are only on the TV in your cabin (except for a few voyages like transatlantic when they may show them in the theatre), there is no big screen above the pool. Food quality is good and there are six main restaurants (steak, upscale Mexican, Italian, Korean BBQ, experimental tasting menu and American). There isn’t a buffet but more of a food court, plus four other quick service places. Entertainment is great and different, more small-scale circus and similar, no broadway style shows. There are fun gameshows and trivia (but the prize is a round of drinks for the team) and there is drag queen hosted bingo.
  23. Easiest is to make show reservations shortly after boarding and then sort dining around the show times. Can do it yourself in the app, or go to the big red desk on deck 7.
  24. Although shore things bookings open at 120 days so might start to appear in the next few days.
  25. As far as anyone knows the ships will offer the same facilities, but until people are allowed on BL we won’t know for certain. The app doesn’t list information about the thermal spa anyway. Website page is here https://www.virginvoyages.com/fitness-spa#relax-space But there will be YouTube video tours.
