  1. We actually arrive in Rome on Friday, so a good 2.5 days prior to cruising. We've also been to Rome before. I just want to get to the ship so that I don't worry about missing the ship. There are about 35 of us in our group and I'm sort of the group leader. With so many of us, I just want to make sure we all get there.
  2. I like to arrive early too! I like to get on and start looking for food lol!
  3. Thank you. I was hoping someone on here would know what the earliest boarding time was for Rome. We are going next week out of Texas and our boarding time is 10:30 a.m. We also boarded out of New Jersey for our cruise last June and it was also 10:30 a.m.
  4. Thank you for the responses. I did check with the private car company and they said on a Monday, best pick up time would be 8:45 a.m. to get to the port at 10:30.
  5. We will be on Royal Caribbean's Enchantment of the Seas on Monday, May 15, 2023. Does anyone know what the earliest check-in time for our cruise will be? Is it 10:30 a.m. like the U.S. cruise ports? Also, we will be hiring a private car service to take us from Rome Center to the cruise port. I believe the drive will take around 1 hour and 15 minutes. It's on a Monday morning. Anyone know if there will be traffic and if we should plan on an earlier time to leave. We were initially thinking of pick up at 9:00 a.m. Thank you.
  6. I realize this is an old post but thought I would add to it. We booked Air2Sea for our cruise in May 2023. We are flying on United to Rome from Chicago and on American from Athens to Chicago. Our final payment is not due until February 2023. I was able to get us seat assignments for the United flight but not able to get us seat assignment on the American flight. Also, if you reprice your airfare on Air2Sea due to price drops, you need to go back in and select your seats again. Our direct roundtrip airfare was originally at $1,050 per person. It has dropped twice since we originally booked. It is now $888 per person. The nice thing with Air2Sea is we don't have to pay for our tickets until final payment. I just hope we don't have some of the same problems I've been hearing about Air2Sea in which flights get rebooked or cancelled. There are about 30 of us on the same flights.
  7. We have a group of 40 with 19 cabins (11 inside cabins and 8 balconies) sailing on May 15, 2023. We have not heard anything yet. Our accounts still says our cruise is canceled. I did receive a cancellation email on our My Time Dining yesterday although I have not received a refund on my internet purchase. This waiting is excruciating. Both my travel agent and I have called and we're told to be patient.
  8. We have a group of 19 cabins for May 15, 2023 and we've heard nothing yet. I keep checking my account daily, but nothing. I've heard others with cruises after ours (July 2023) have heard back already. My travel agent called and they told us to be patient.
  9. Ugh that's horrible. We were scheduled to be on Brilliance next May for Europe, but they just swapped ships. We'll be on Enchantment. I feel like we just got majorly downgraded. Oh well - this trip is all about the itinerary and less about the ship. I just hope it gets worked on prior to our May sailing.
  10. Glad to hear it! We were on Enchantment years ago when our kids were young. This cruise we were doing for the itinerary, not the ship; although the self-leveling pool tables on Brilliance sounded so cool! Oh well - we're still going and glad it wasn't canceled. Now I can get back to planning my port visits. I had stopped all planning because I thought this was going to get canceled.
  11. I don't have any idea but I am booked on Brilliance of the Seas May 15, 2023 and have been anxiously waiting. I've been talking to my TA daily and she hasn't seen anything come through. It could be a boat change. I don't really care as long as the cruise isn't changed. We are a group of 40 friends and family going on this trip and have been planning for so long. Would hate to have to start all over. Fingers crossed!
  12. Wow - sounds like a great tour guide and would love to use him too! We've used Ciro - the singing taxi driver in the past. He's fantastic but he is booked solid for our May 2023 cruise. Hope you find him!
  13. Thank you! The FAQ on the Air2Sea website mentions the fee but never said when the fee would be assessed. If it's after final payment, that's fine because after I make that final payment, it's a go. I was only worried if it was before final payment - a lot can happen before February when my final payment is due.
  14. Yep, I booked through a TA and it doesn't work for me. My TA said she would have to do it for me.
  15. It's been years since I last used RC's Air2Sea program. I didn't like the flights they used to put me on so for the last 20+ years, I'd get my own air. I know that things have changed and I've heard some great things. But, I still have questions and would like to weigh my options. We are flying internationally next year for our Mediterranean cruise and I found round trip air (non-stop) through Air2Sea for about $200 less per person. My questions are: If the price of the airfare (exact same flights) go down, can I call to get the lower price? If I found a better flights - better times, airline, etc. and the price was also lower, could I change and get the lower price? Would there be a change fee? If I canceled my cruise before final payment (I have refundable deposit), and thus need to cancel the air, would there be a fee? I think I read it was $200 per person, but not sure. What are the pros and cons of going through Air2Sea versus getting my own air besides the price difference? Thanks in advance for any advice and help you can give me.
  16. I LOVED Naples and would go there again in a heartbeat! Also loved Cinque Terres - ate the best food there and brought home the best pesto!
  17. If hubby is also a diamond and you are in the same cabin, do you each get 4 free drinks a day? My girls (ages 29 and 25) will also be diamond after next cruise, I assume if they had separate cabins, they would also get 4 free drinks per day? Thanks.
  18. Thank you! My husband and I don't drink a lot but we have others going on a cruise that only the husband drinks and not the wife. So, it would be great if they didn't have to buy two packages.
  19. Did you book through a TA or through Royal? I booked our cruise through a TA, so wondering if I can still call Royal about purchasing only one DBP and one non-alcoholic drink package.
  20. I feel for all of you. We had to test on June 3rd for our June 5th cruise on Oasis. I used Rapid Test & Trace. It all went very smoothly. Yes, we had to use Microsoft Teams. After doing the testing and viewing my results, I noticed there were no CLIA number on the results. However, friends of ours used CVS and their results didn't have the numbers either. I really stressed like crazy over this. However, it was no problem. The agents did not look for the CLIA number at all. They just checked to make sure we tested negative. It took us less than 15 minutes to check in for a family of 4 at the terminal. Good luck to you all!
  21. We were on the same cruise as you and completed it with 8 minutes to spare. There were 12 of us in our group and we had a blast doing it. We also did the escape room on the Navigator, but this one was much better. Loved the ending!
  22. There is a number they give you after you set up the test. When my test time was up and I was on hold for 5 minutes, I got nervous, so I called them. They said to be patient and sure enough, someone did come on. It was very simple testing and I'm glad I did it in the comfort of my home. I didn't have a problem with Microsoft Teams as I use this for work. I did download it onto my husband's phone for his test. Again, simple, not a problem.
  23. The testing went fine - very easy to do. No problem with the results not having the CLIA number. They never even looked. They made sure the test was negative and we were on our way.
  24. Hey everyone! The 12 of us are on our cruise right now. We all had different agents and the only thing they looked at was the big Negative word and that was it. They did not look for the CLIA number at all. The agent for a couple of my friends didn’t even ask to see their COVID vaccine card. We figured since they loaded it on their app, it must have been already reviewed. A note of caution. When you go through security at the cruise port, you cannot bring in any opened bottles of water or any water in your water jug/container. They will make you pour it out. You can bring in unopened bottles of water and of course, your two bottles of wine per cabin. Let me know if you have any questions.
