  1. I'm one of those people as I pair my wine with my meal. Am on a 10 night cruise next month and opted out of the drinks package as was so disappointed in their offerings last cruise especially on premium package.
  2. Its not a case of not having funds to purchase the ships water. Some people, myself included, just prefer their own particular brand of water. I like San Pellegrino morello cherry and pomegranate flavor water. Ship does not carry it so I bring it with me. Doesn't mean I'm cheap.
  3. @AF-1I really wish they'd do away with it. Cruise is end September so see what happens by then. If they follow Princess I can do my test Friday and sail Monday.
  4. Thats very reasonable. I prefer flying out 2 days prior to cruise due to delays and flight cancellations.
  5. @oakridgerdecided on the virtual testing for Sunday morning as flight could be delayed getting into FLL. At the moment things seem good with the Air Canada flight I am booking but Pearson Airport in Toronto is the worst for cancellations and delays and too big a risk. Should improve after labour day. The antigen test is $99 USD pretty expensive since I only pay $16 canadian at Costco.
  6. I think the service some of these Celebrity agents give is just awful. I only call if desperate and even then have to place multiple calls to get someone knowledgeable.
  7. Get them to over ride the price or offer onboard credit for the difference. A specialty dinner or upgraded cabin doesn’t cut it. Many times an upgrade isn't actually one.
  8. I bring a case of San Pellegrino. It sells for $5.50 plus 20 percent gratuities onboard.
  9. @Jim_IainI did a Baltic cruise out of that terminal in July 2016. What an experience! My son is literally a 15 minute walk to the port. We go out on his boat when I visit and pass the cruise ships all the time. I will post my experience with the luggage on this thread when I arrive.
  10. @Jim_Iainwas planning on checking at midnight then again at 6 am Amsterdam time. I have a noon flight from Schiphol Airport that day which I know will be chaos so want to get there early. I've booked a C1 cabin and was wanting to board in time for the concierge lunch. Oh well, I guess there's more important things to worry about like getting back to Canada stress free. 😆
  11. Not a fan of the chat feature. Easier to call someone's stateroom.
  12. I'll be in Amsterdam leaving that morning for my flight back to Canada and wanted to choose my check in time. Have a concierge balcony and like the advantage of lunch in the MDR that day.
  13. I am sailing on the Equinox September 26th and check in is August 12th. I will be flying back to Canada that morning and would like to do my online check-in from there. Would anyone know if I could check in early in the morning before leaving for the airport. It will be six hours ahead.
  14. The braised short ribs are excellent.
  15. Its curative but they don't do it Sundays. Too risky for me.
  16. I was on a chat forum with them yesterday and the person was extremely helpful. I have several boxes of sealed tests at home so will take one of those. She said the box doesn't have to be sealed just the test and they walk you through it. Seems there are a lot of companies that do the virtual testing they also have a discount code that you can use to purchase the test. Thanks for your help.
  17. @jg51thanks for your input. I hope all is good for my Equinox cruise on the 26th September. I love their beef short ribs and I didn't see them offered on my May 11 night Hawaii cruise plus the fact I can relax have a glass if wine without dealing with the stress of the buffet.
  18. Where there's a will there's a way.
  19. @Oceangoer2If I were flying out day prior to cruise I would have gone to Costco for testing but there is only 1 Air Canada direct flight out from Pearson that morning so too risky at the moment due to luggage getting lost or even flight cancellations. I've already booked my return with United using a credit from March 2020. I emailed Curative who has partnered with the Riverside hotel but they just return with a bunch of FAQ's then I went on a chat forum with rapidtestandtrace and actually got a live person who was extremely helpful; I am so impressed. So if there's no improvement with Pearson after labour day I will do the virtual testing. Thanks for everyone's input. Much appreciated.
  20. @Gracie115I may very well do that. I emailed Curative yesterday the company Riverside uses and received an auto email that I would get a reply within 48 hours. Results typically take 1 to 2 hours but could be longer with staff shortages. They don't do testing on Sundays, not the best service IMO.
  21. @Jim_Iainyes I saw that and it also says results delivered in 1 to 2 days. Too risky for me as they are closed on Sundays. Don't really want to book in advance in case my flight is delayed or cancelled. There have been many this summer.
  22. Well at least I peaked your interest.
  23. Not sure if Riverside has internet in their rooms but I can always use my data for the day probably cheaper than running around wasting valuable time. I'm an early riser so can schedule an appointment first thing in the morning. I'm just nervous about using the tests as if it doesn't work I have no back up plan. Someone suggested doing a test before the cruise.
  24. I guess I should have put it in brackets. 😆
