  1. Someone posted that they cut their thumb opening the can. Not planning on getting a drinks package on my next cruise and as Elite probably collect a few of these. I didn't even realize I could get them during HH.
  2. Only booked FBC once when desperate as my flights were canceled they did the booking but I had to walk the agent through the process.
  3. If you have an air canada aeroplan credit card you get 1 piece of checked baggage free but you must book through the airline directly not with a third party. Always read the fine print before booking.
  4. I've only booked FBC once and price was identical to what I could find on my own. Was 2 weeks out from cruise when my original flight was canceled. They are not the most knowledgeable and big language barrier but at least we had flights.
  5. In all the years I have cruises only had 2 beverages packages and both have been in the last six months. I prefer to bring my own wine from home sometimes to drink on the balcony before dinner then top up to bring to dining room. No corkage fee has ever been charged.
  6. One of the martinis at WCB is Tropically Yours made with Parrot Bay rum. I would have thought parrot bay would be part of the classic package but when I inquired was told they follow the ingredients in the recipe. Not sure but it was a fantastic drink.
  7. I also love Aperol spritzers but found they don't taste the same as I make them at home and that's on all the ships. Maybe its the quality of sparkling wine they use. I'm wondering if they have a supply chain issue as I've been trying to purchase locally and they are out of stock of the large bottles. They have the ready made individual ones but not cost effective.
  8. Magic carpet not very busy when we were there and yes great views. Eden on deck 5 aft was another favorite spot to read while sipping a martini very quiet at times I was the only one there.
  9. Like you I sailed on all the S class ships and very apprehensive to try the Edge until our February western Caribbean itinerary. My sister and I each had our own single cabins insides steps away from the pool. We loved the king bed and huge cabin. Did not miss a balcony one bit. Loved Eden also magic carpet where we would get some fantastic aft views. Bartender was the best in Eden and made some lovely martinis, his own concoction. Would sail on her again depending on prices.
  10. I have a smallish wine Cellar in my basement that houses approximately 50 bottles of various wines all have been purchased at 20 to 30% off. Two of my favorites are a Freemark Abbey and Austin Hope cab which will accompany me on my next cruise.
  11. @jagoffeeI know for a fact that the Decoy cab as well as Villa Maria SB are on the Premium package. They tried to offer me Morphe red and white but said no so bartender at Casiao bar asked someone to find the villa Maria. They ran out on a daily basis but seemed to find them on the ship. One evening I went to Tuscan gtill to bum wine from them and bring back to MDR. 😆
  12. I have heard that in the Med they allow you to bring wines purchased in the various ports onboard. Many people purchase to take home. I love Tuscan wines. I'm going to Amsterdam to visit son and family in August and have seen some fabulous wines in grocery stores many priced under 10€.
  13. I was on a 10 night cruise on the Silhouette last November and did not have any issues getting premium wines. They were not the same brand as pre covid but still very good. Can't speak for the Edge sailing I was on in February as did not get the AI but during HH from 5 to 9 one of the bartenders was pouring me Decoy and I just topped up before dinner. They seemed to have plenty available. My recent 11 night Hawaii cruise was quite different in that they kept running out of premium wines and offered basic substitutions which I turned down. I'm done with AI and will be bringing on my own 2 bottle allotment.
  14. They are usually out of many of the premium wines but will offer a downgraded substitute. Not their problem if guests, myself included, are dumb enough to purchase the PBP.
  15. I like Grey Goose and if I've paid for it I expect to get it. I watch them when making the drinks. Once I ordered a martini and bartender made it out of my sight. Took a sip and didn't care for it so left and went to World Class Bar, my favorite on S Class ships.
  16. I few home in May via United first time ever from Honolulu to San Francisco to Toronto Canada. Was actually quite impressed with their service. Looking at the Enchanted Princess for November similar itinerary to Celebrity 10 nights with an additional port day but $550 CAD cheaper for the same category cabin. No package included which is fine by me.
  17. Never had any interest in Le Petit Chef. Anyone I've spoken to who've done it never had much to say. One couple from our table in MDR said they would have rather had dinner with the rest of our table that night.
  18. I have no complaints about Celebrity in itself just the fact that when they keep running out of wines or drinks that people have paid for they need to offer a similar substitution or upgrade your drink at no added cost. In the past they have done that but seems not to be the case any longer.
  19. I always look at both rates then do a breakdown of individual cost for wifi, gratuities and the CBP. Sometimes worth it to take the AI but most times it is not. On my February Edge 7 night sailing I opted not to take the AI and it was great. Used my 90 Elite minutes and took advantage of free drinks between 5 to 7. I would also go to the Elite breakfast and get my morning mimosa then go to the MDR for a full breakfast. On port intensive itineraries you are not onboard long enough to utilize the drinks package.
  20. Speaking of hot sauce even my husband's favorite brand of Sriracha was in short supply but I finally hunted it down at a third grocery store. Not planning on the AI for my next cruise. Its handy but not worth the hassle.
  21. I didn't bother asking for a refund as I got my money's worth in water and some bar drinks at the the World class bar, however, after sailing exclusively on Celebrity since 2014 I'm now looking at a Princess cruise for this fall.
  22. The 2 bottles of Evian and perrier per day covered my upgrade but I was still disappointed in the wine offerings. Love my big bold cabs especially with beef and the closest they had was Decoy but they ran out. Once paid an extra $10 per glass for an upgrade but after that took the Elegance pinot noir. Wish they had some nice Aussie cabs but couldn't find any. Looking at a 10 night November - December cruise prefer to sail on the Edge but may give the Enchanted Princess a try, all is dependent on pricing.
  23. I do the same only book a balcony if a few hundred more than an inside and thats for a ten night or above cruise.
