  1. This new elevator process sort of ruins our previous strategy. We found if the elevators were always full going up/down…we’d push the opposite direction, ride up/down one floor. Typically that elevator was empty. We’d go up/down one then press the deck we wanted. Now, we’ll have to exit the lift and select again…which will likely yield another crowded lift. We sail in August for the first time…so we’ll see how this works first hand.
  2. I just looked at your itinerary…on our bucket list, for certain. However, for now, we need to stay closer to US due to elder caregiving. I think this will be a good itinerary for Prima. Warmer weather but not pool weather…most people will be off the boat exploring the ports. I hope they add some more entertainment at night…but the Donna Summer Show was very good. And the dining venues are excellent. Choose Hudson’s over Commodore. Hudson’s was a more intimate setting…Commodore had larger groups and was loud. Enjoy your cruise and the Prima.
  3. We sailed 4/30 and it was their first week with rotating menus. The waiter said this change was for cruises going forward…so I would say the menu experiment is over.
  4. Not for sure on exact opening time…but it was definitely open well before 8:45. and, now I see @McFinsanswered…TXS.
  5. Unlike other NCL cruises, we actually got up early enough to eat in Hudson’s. After day 1 we found if you arrived around 8:45 you got great seats and service..and often s great view. Closer to 9…the line grew snd the hostesses were encouraging you to go elsewhere (not) or share a table. We never had an issue regardless if we showed up early or at 9. Great breakfast in Hudson’s.
  6. That’s how I feel after checking out at Macy’s…look how much I saved (not). Stupid consumer mentality…we have only ourselves to blame.🤣
  7. I’ve had that error returned when there is no availability on the excursion. In addition to the message the other thing I noticed is that one of us has a cost of $0. It is usually 2nd passenger that gets the $0 cost.
  8. Thanks, I had it on the Breakaway last fall and it was delicious. Read mixed reviews. We’re sailing Bliss in the Fall yo Mexican Riveria so we’ll see. Thanks. BTW, mine was in a large bowl with mostly mussels snd clams—we were in New England—which may have made a difference.
  9. In your opinion, would you book shows before dining (we have 2 specialty on 4 night cruise) or dining then shows.?
  10. @luv2kroooz I understand your mindset, and I was skeptical, too based on all the reviews. We had already made final payment before all the reviews came rolling in..or at least before I started reading them. We went in thinking we were going to have make lemonade. Well that wasn’t the case at all. We sailed out of NYC to Bermuda 4/30-5/7. It poured and was windy, rough seas for the first 2 days. We didn’t feel the ship was crowded inside despite no one being outdoors. When we’re finally able to stroll deck 8, there were seats everywhere. Some shade, some sun, some by the pool, some by the bars, some all by ourselves. The buffet was just as crowded as any other ship, but we didn’t have any long wait to snag a table then our food. We found seating in Indulge, too. The Local actually has two sides—separate from each other. One side is the restaurant and the other side is the bar. It wasn’t weird at all walking through the bar to get to Indulge. And you could always walk outside. the MDR Hudson’s was by far the most amazing MDR we’ve seen. So many tables wrap around the windows with amazing water views. And Prima has now gone to the same rotating menu as the rest of the fleet. the specialty dining was superb. We especially liked Food Republic. The comedy shows and many game shows have been moved to the theater from Improv. Syd Normans unfortunately has to stay in that venue due to licensing…so that was not great. The ship is not hard to navigate at all. In fact, if you allow yourself to follow the flow it was really quite easy to remember what was where. I would say that the people using the FWD elevators had a better location. The elevator takes you right to the atrium. The AFT elevator makes you walk through the dining venues to get to the atrium. I am sharing this with you so that you know you were not alone in your opinion of the Prima based on other’s experiences. I was Leary..but so glad we gave Prima a try. I probably would not sail Prima during US spring break and summer or transatlantic. But for itineraries in the Mediterranean, Bermuda, Alaska, Canary Islands, Northern Europe in warmer weather…Prima is a good fit. I’ve heard it said…never say never. Happy cruising however you choose to cruise🙂
  11. On Seaside. If you successfully added your credit card info before boarding do you still need to use the credit card verification onboard? Also, can you see your charges daily on the app or TV?
  12. We are some of the cruisers who LOVED Prima. I didn’t understand any of the negative comments. Would sail her again in a heartbeat. But, honestly, her paint job looked way too flat and faded. We lived in Florida for many years, so we know the wear/tear of a salt-water environment…so it surprised me. However, like someone else stated…we don’t cruise based on the design on the hull of the ship.
  13. IMO we sailed several weeks ago and I mentioned to my DH that I felt the paint quality was off. It looked as though the paint was flat and fading…with less than a year in service. The five other NCL ships we’ve sailed appeared to have a nice gloss finish…with cheerful colors.
  14. We were on the same 4/30 Prima cruise to Bermuda in a FWD facing cabin. We thought the noise was due to our forward location and decided then we would not choose s FWD cabin again. Between the drinks package and white noise app, I slept fine. DH did complain the first two nights. However, we loved the cruise and the Prima.
  15. In the deep south it becomes waaalsh ragsz.🤣
  16. Folllwng. We sail in August, 4 night. @JAGR, I should know this but can you be more specific about continental breakfast. Is it just danish and coffee…or was there more to offer?
  17. Yes, you are from the south US. 😊 No offense, honestly, my DH calls them washrags. However, I’m from the Midwest ((Ohio) and they’re known as wash clothes. Evidently, if you’re from some European countries, they’re “flannels” All the ssme…many of us (women especially) like to have cloths to cleanse our face with prior to sleeping each night.
  18. Thank you for your pic. I sure hope it’s the menu that @Inflatable_Catfishposted…as it looks much more like my taste, lol.
  19. Oh wow…thank you. This helps. Hope you’re enjoying your cruise😊
  20. Lol. At least we like sushi…maybe not enough to cover the cost! So, we have been loyal NCL cruisers…I must say…as bad as NCL customer service and IT is…they have it in spades over MSC. However, the overall cost and cruiser reviews have drawn us to MSC. We’re Platinum on NCL and matched to Gold on MSC. We are doing a mini cruise on MSC to see if we like them enough to do an European cruise in 2024.
