  1. The only programs somewhat reciprocal are the programs through RCI and Celebrity. It's a level to level transfer, not an accumulation of points combined.
  2. Exactly. Type up a list of what a red, gold, platinum and diamond member is entitled to and post it permanently in the room. It's bad enough that the stuff is no longer delivered to the room and you have to go pick it up at pixels and a bar. You have to pick up a phone to order the strawberries you're entitled to as well instead of just having them delivered. We know it adds to the bottom line because of labor costs no longer involved just like the room only being done once a day instead of two.
  3. Well then those cruisers who don't have a smart phone, don't have a cell phone and are not tech savvy should not be discriminated against by Carnival when Carnival doesn't properly communicate to them what benefits they're entitled to and how to get them. Those that are not tech savvy probably have no idea what a QR code is and without knowing that they are blind as to how to get their free water, VIFP gift, etc.
  4. I believe they get a half dozen of airline bottles of alcohol as well as mixers. Can be swapped out for water. It's what the non drinkers do.
  5. You're a member of the 95% of teetotalers that should not buy the package. You have many of your brethren on this thread. Many people already know which side of the line in the sand they stand on, so most of the back and forth on this thread is basically fruitless, except for those that may be straddling the line.
  6. Have seen many men bypass their weekly quota when they max out their 15 on day one on Carnival.
  7. Really? Then why do so many cruisers ask for a paper menu in the MDR and specialty venues when all they need to do is zap the QR code to see the menu?
  8. Please educate me as to what a $500.00 OBC promotion is. I will infer it's a casino deal, since we are Platinum with 25 Carnival cruises and have never received such an offer. But then again never received a RU1, RU2 or RU3 Cheers promotion either.
  9. But your way you get no coffee, water, or alcohol. But you did save 154 Canadian.
  10. MSC 14.00 Disney 14.50 Carnival 16.00 Princess 16.00 RCI 16.00 HAL 16.00 Celebrity 17.50 NCL 20.00 Princess, Celebrity and HAL have packages that combine tips. drinks and wifi together. Princess is the cheapest at 60.00 per day.
  11. On a slow day I will enjoy 4 and maybe a shot. On a good day, my DH will easily hit double digits. The facts are what the facts are. Three drinks a day or combinations to add up to 29 bucks via coffee, soda, water, mocktails, etc and then the wifi is gravy since the 60 goes towards drinks and grats.
  12. We don't even care about the included wifi. After factoring out tips, It's about 623 for the two of us to enjoy canned Coke Zero, San Pellegrino, espresso based drinks and adult beverages. That's an absolute no brainer especially considering what the same package costs on Celebrity, Carnival, NCL and RCI. That's why we have 56 days of it lined up over the next 25 months and will get it again on fall 2025 and winter 2026 sailings.
  13. After factoring out the tips and wifi, you only need to drink 3 alcoholic drinks a day. That's far from heavy drinking. We've been down this road before and we know you're on the borderline teetotaler side of the line in the sand. Nothing wrong with that.
  14. Easily resolved. Just get a Coke Zero, much better tasting than Diet Coke and we had no problems getting cans on the Discovery last year and the Majestic this year.
  15. After having cruised on Carnival, MSC, NCL and RCI within the past year, we wholeheartedly agree with you. The Plus package was an extremely great value at 40 and still is at 60.
  16. Just to let you know, all of the hotel options on that website are for various hotels in NJ, not in Manhattan. The same is true for similar other websites that offer the same types of packages. Trinity is nice though because their pricing contains no taxes.
  17. It's nice and compact too, maybe 6 inches in diameter.
  18. Ho hum. 95% of teetotalers should not buy the plus package. There are a few exceptions to this rule and that's where the 5% comes in. On the other hand, there are those that got extremely great value when the Plus package was 40 per day, just great value when it increased to 50 per day and are still getting value when it increased to 60 per day, which is what we paid for our 28 days on the Enchanted and 28 days on the Sun over the next 25 months. The bottom line is simple. If you enjoy a few adult beverages while you're on vacation, adding in the gratuities and wifi make it a value purchase. If you don't drink and don't use wifi on board, then pass on the plus package. It's that simple.
  19. Why would I make it up? No sour grapes at all. I and my DH heard the comments as we stood in line and those from the Yacht Club on MSC and the Haven on NCL were escorted into the venue via butler on MSC and concierge on NCL. Luckily it only happened once on each cruise line. Have cruised twice on MSC and 8 times on NCL, so we are very familiar with the ship within a ship concept. I personally could care less about where other cruisers stay, what they have paid, and what other benefits they have earned by paying a premium. But the line was crossed twice and we just assumed on both occasions that the comments were alcohol induced.
  20. It certainly doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that Carnival craves as many clueless blue cards as they can get their hands on as the heart of their promotions.
  21. Including those that are totally clueless as to what they're entitled to and how to go about receiving what they should receive. But then again, benefits not given out adds to the bottom line of trying to alleviate those billions lost via the shutdown.
  22. It all depends on what you get. Coke, Diet Coke, ginger ale, Sprite are all on the gun. If you order a Sprite Zero or Coke Zero, you get the can for no upcharge since it's not available on the gun.
  23. We booked our recent Alaskan cruise back in the fall of 2021, paid 40 pppd for Plus and received the ice cream sundaes. We tried one between us, each having one and two spoonfuls and that was enough. Our future cruises are all on the Enchanted and the Sun, so they should have the gelato shops so a basic affagato should hopefully be substituted. We were on the Majestic and the sundaes were terrible.
  24. We paid 40 pppd for the Plus package on our recent Alaskan cruise on the Majestic. The desserts were included, had them once and they were terrible. The juice bar and exercise classes were not included, but will be on our 56 days of future plus cruises that we have booked over the next 25 months that we paid 60 pppd for. There was a short booking period in which we did not book any cruises when the Plus was @ 50 per day. Hopefully things will level off @ 60 and not increase to 70, but only the bean counters at Princess know the answer to this.
