  1. Just curious, when you get a dinner comp or something from the pit boss/host, how is this done? Do they send a certificate to your room or something? Or while you're playing? Or some other way? How did you find out you had the dinner comp? Thanks!
  2. I'm not sure "where ever they wanted" was meant to be that literal... But for reference, on my last Carnival cruise in June, it wasn't uncommon to get a whif of the ganja on the open decks, and wafting off the balconies. Mildly annoying, but mostly outside.
  3. We have the Glory booked for February, my first ship, and she has my heart! Looking to actually possibly get married during the sailing! However, more importantly, I am on the hunt for my lucky slot machine (joking...well, only half), which I hit my first ever (small) jackpot on! I hope it's still there! 😂😂
  4. I'm not young, but you've given me something to think about. 🤣
  5. I can't help with most of your questions, but yes, people bring wine onboard. It's not frowned upon.
  6. The way the casino host explained it to me was, you get the on-board instant-certificates based on points you earn on that particular cruise, but they are the the preliminary offers. After the cruise ends, they then figure the final points, based on game-play (again, table players - slots is pretty straight-forward), add it to your total points and then send the better offers. So I usually pass on the instant certificates. Not sure the accuracy of this, but I can say that my partner, who plays Blackjack, was not Prime when we left the ship, but a week later was Prime, after the finalized points were awarded.
  7. I know this is a resurrected thread, so sorry! But can you answer a question about your experience (I'm in that same situation with a TBA that probably won't be filled). How did you get around the unnamed guest on the booking? Did you add a mock name and birthday and just tell them the person wouldn't make it when checking in? Just a little anxious about getting through check in. Thanks for any info you're willing to provide!
  8. I was told this same thing, so I'm going to say yes, that seems to be the policy, if your travel partner does not have the same offer. However, I have seen a lot of people recommend speaking with the casino host to have the offer extended to a cabin mate, but I believe that only works if both people have the same offer. And even then, I don't think it's guaranteed.
  9. I can't compare to South Beach, but spent a few hours at Chill Island back in March. It was quite quiet and relaxing. Wasn't very crowded, lots of open chairs. Also adding, we couldn't hear music at all while in the chairs. I wondered around a bit at stumbled upon the Lagoon Pool or whatever it was called, and music was blasting, but until I walked around, I had no idea it was there.
  10. I've called, but do you mind sharing the email you contact? I've got one of these offers and I'm a bit wary of it, because the terms link definitely says "Everywhere While On Board The Ship," but doesn't say that everywhere. I called to confirm, but I like the idea of having it confirmed in writing. TIA!
  11. I did, and one of them was me saying I've experienced the sales pitch as well. And while it's annoying for sure, it's not aggressive. They offer you a product, and yes, it goes on for a few minutes (just let them finish the pitch), and you smile and nod while they are talking, and when they are done, you say, "Nah, I'll pass." Aggressive are car salesman that call you everyday, not the massage therapist that spends a few too many minutes telling me about this product that I don't need or intend to buy.
  12. I get it, it's going to deter some people more than others, especially people who aren't good at saying no! But it's honestly not an aggressive sales tactic and is used all over the place. I know I'm not giving up my massage just to avoid telling someone "No thank you!" Heck, put those products at a deep discount and I'd even be all over it! Bring some earbuds and pop them in the next time they start. 😁 (I'm joking, of course.)
  13. I think this post is meant to be a little satire. It's also a running joke on the ship. The crew even joke about it, because it's very common that people don't like it, but I mean, come on, it's Cats. It's all in good fun. Also, edited to say, it's not unreasonable to enjoy going to see the production shows, but not like every single production. And again, come on, it's Cats...
  14. The list of charges? That has a lot of words.
  15. They just offer you a product, and you say no, and that's the end of it. I'm not sure I would consider that aggressive.
  16. It was the same on my last Carnival cruise, and while I wish they didn't do it, I loved that message! So I just let them do their spiel and politely declined.
  17. I mean, it's well performed. If you like Cats, you might enjoy it. But that's a strange breed that likes Cats. 😂
  18. Watched it on Oasis from start to finish lol. Lots of people left mid-show, but I just couldn't. I needed something to bring closure to that 90 minute chapter of my life and had to see it through to the end. For whatever reason, Cats is a longtime-running Broadway show, so there has to be people out there watch it. For what it's worth, I think the crew did a great job, it's just the nature of the storyline.
  19. If you are vaccinated, you can take an antigen test. The requirements posted are for unvaccinated guests. I've cruise both rather recently, and honestly one wasn't any different than the other, except Carnival does actually give 3 days for vaccinated.
  20. This is actually the case for me. I wouldn't say I'm not a Halloween person, but booked Harmony OTS for October 30th without really thinking about it, but now I'm pretty excited to see what it's like!
  21. Similar situation and question - so there will be no impact if one person (the no show) doesn't have a green check? I can show up with my green check and board with no problem? I have a room booked for 2 people, but really don't have a second occupant at this time, and it might not get filled. In theory, there might not be a second person to check-in.
  22. Did you use a booking code? Maybe it was included somewhere in the fine print and you just didn't see it??
