  1. Good luck RCL, NCL, MSC, Princess to name a few don't let it happen so in the grand scheme of things P&O are now following other lines. Enjoy finding a line that will accept.
  2. Smirnoff Vodka also cheaper onboard compared to Tesco and Sainsbury's but Asda is selling is cheaper than P&O.
  3. This was quite a way back but yeah they are trained to not serve drunk people. Then again these ones were not going to bars you could see them carrying bottles around from the cabin.
  4. To you obviously you know the limit but others like already mentioned young adults literally do not measure a single or double. They could bring 2 bottles of Vodka, a bottle of gin onboard you name it they would be gone in a instance. It has already been mentioned previously by others the hassle they have had to put up with.
  5. Laughable but crew are trained to not serve intoxicated people. If someone wants to get drunk immediately over the course of 15 drinks and not spread them out not only are they going to lose that privilege but end up with far worse consequences.
  6. So does people bringing own alcohol onboard. Have to admit on a few taster cruises. The young adults drunk, peeing on deck 7 etc
  7. Health, Environmental, Safety & Security Committees | Carnival Corporation & plc
  8. Implementing at any time is not going to do good for anyone but obviously needs to be done. Even if they said these changes come into effect next month/next year people will still not be happy. I suppose if a supermarket starts checking everyone's shopping that would also be unacceptable to some but they are losing money each day.
  9. Good luck with other lines who already do this or other lines that may implement it. Don't think P&O will miss anyone. Someone new would of already come along and taken a spot. Quite funny seeing how people react when they can't have it their way. Do you go to a Wetherspoons for an example and complain because they don't have something you don't like or ran out. Pretty sure P&O use to stock Carling on draught. When they stopped my dad just found something else.
  10. Definitely we have found if a captain is seen around the ship interacting, having a laugh, the crew seem to be happier. Captain who thanks the crew for the hard work goes a long way, having ones with decent briefing on weather etc. We’ve had Luko Vojvoda who I believe quit take over from Neil Turnball, hardly seen around the ship, quayside, announcements vague. Whereas Neil always seen around the ship, having photos taken, seen quayside, announcements more detailed and likes to have a laugh.
  11. Personally we always felt the Glasshouse on Ventura was the best till we saw Azura. The outdoor cinema/TV is a nice feature to.
  12. Sounds like Travel Blog Jamie. I think a few of us discussed about him previously.
  13. Ben & David they complain about P&O a lot according to other vloggers especially when they were on Arvia. They were unhappy with the balcony even though they mentioned they paid a saver fare they surely knew they could have been given the cabin on the prom deck. It could have been the plan all along hoping to get one of them cabins so they can get more views and clicks. To balance it Emma had one of them and she quite enjoyed it.
  14. Like YorkshirePhil people just like to complain you can read some reviews on one review site which is monitored by P&O but is not the official one plus anyone can write a review compared to the one they send a link for you get a good laugh at some of them. Especially the ones who seem to just constantly write one star reviews to a load of different companies. For me and the family it is cheap, we feel the service is fine, love the way they operate the fly cruises etc. Menus are repetitive but even though I am a fussy eater always something I can have. Food never been a problem we are glad themed buffet nights have made a return though. We don't bother looking for problems. In the cruises we have done I believe we have complained three times and have received compensation which we never expect too. One to do with the bar waiter insisting he got drinks correct even though he had written down what we had asked and kept saying don't report me. Manager gave us a bottle of wine and chocolates, reported a cabin steward when they complained about the tips we gave him and told us is that it, we were told this was not the first time that the same cabin steward had done this. We were given a massive hamper which turned up at the house, never told this was going to happen and the other time when they use to sell cigarettes in Brodies/The Exchange they would not serve me even though I was over the age of 18. I took my ID and my dad came along they still refused so went to reception who scanned a copy of the driving license and told the staff they need to serve me and would be retrained.
  15. How would it be a cutback if it’s not finished? You would think P&O would want it back up ASAP I presume it makes them a lot of money.
  16. Honestly first time I flew SOU-MAN being on a prop was a bit nerve racking but was really enjoyable, comfy to
  17. With the runway extension they would have no trouble more likely limited by weight. EasyJet take the A320 in though. I remember Flybe before the first one went bust they put out a tweet rumoring they were going to be getting 737's. We actually may end up having Flybe 3.0 but they have called themselves beregional, currently We're assessing demand for a future UK regional airline showing a Dash 8 with an ex Flybe reg G-JECP
  18. Charter flights you book seats through the flight information page https://flightseats.pocruises.com/login/
  19. Charlie Carr and his wife were lovely use to love his daily announcements, always seen around the ship talking to people and the crew. RIP Charlie Carr.
  20. Computer automatically does it, then alerts finance manager who in turn sends out letters and tells us who has problems. Not sure on the last part so can’t help with that.
  21. Message would be left on the system to attend reception and usually if they had a problem even though they may say they have the funds available for instance but because the merchant thinks when the money taken since it flags up it was taken in Dubai for instance they may have blocked the card to stop fraudulent activity. Use to happen quite a bit even though the card each day was a pre auth the final night it would deny the transaction. In hindsight we just took some details made sure they signed, they had a copy and we sent a copy to head office so it can be chased up when home then they were allowed to leave.
  22. We used Virgin and Amex last year Balance showed then disappeared a day of two later with another balance showing next day then disappearing again.
  23. Don't fuel stations even set a pre-authorisation of up to £100 now which incidentally some can fall off immediately or even after a few days. Also to oceanlad It's not just P&O other lines do the same. RCL say some can take 5-7 days with other cards up to 45 days and also say they do not have control and blame the bank.
  24. Manchester certainly allow to check in luggage day before if on a scheduled flight
