  1. If you're in a suite, are the gratuities for butler services included in your cruise fare?
  2. Is the butler covered by the Azamara "Inclusive amenities for all guests - gratuities and concierge services"?
  3. And watching the ports disappear in the sunset while the ship sails away.
  4. abbydancer, What is the meaning of the "rare" flag on your logo?
  5. Until I read your post, I assumed that the dinner menu at the Patio was the same as the lunch menu. I never ate there except on White Night. I will try it for dinner on my next Azamara cruise.
  6. IMHO this was the best Celebrity webinar yet. Thank you for posting the link, TraderSam. I have not received the Celebrity PUP email yet.
  7. (continued from post #5605) .... and my hats, sweaters and glove liners. And the slippers that I bought in New Zealand. If ever I went ice fishing, I would wear wool base layers too.
  8. I agree. 25 days is a long time to go without a clothes washer. The lack of passenger laundromats is the reason I've avoided Holland America for the most part. Some of HAL's ships used to have them, but they have been removed. 🙁 Americans who live in cold areas do wear wool. My base layers are poly, but my winter socks are always wool.
  9. How long is your cruise? Can you get by without washing your woolens? We did a cold weather cruise recently. We washed our woolens by hand, rung them out in a towel, and hung them in the shower. It did take longer than over-night for them to dry - 2 days usually.
  10. 😕 Oops. I didn't mean different from each other. I meant different from day to day.
  11. Do the menus of Prime C and Aqualina vary?
  12. Still looking. And still trying to decide how much longer we will continue to spend the north American winter skiing. As far as I can see all of the World Cruises, except one of Princess' are during the North American winter. If we decide on a line other than Princess, it will have to wait until we can't ski anymore - sooner or later, that will happen. It will be nice to have a World Cruise waiting in the wings at that time. Or we'll take Princess's Sidney to Sidney May - August World Cruise, but we're leaning away from that one, partly because of what we've learned on this thread.
  13. We sailed in November 2022 in a Veranda Suite (AA). We sent out a bag of laundry every day until the last few days. We specified "cold wash, low dry". It always came back the following day, in excellent condition. Those items that needed to be hand washed, we hung in the shower. Part of the reason that we booked the Veranda Suite was for the double balcony and part was for the included laundry. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this thread. Your comments helped us to make a good decision.
  14. Can someone please tell me what time Azamara requires passengers to be out of their cabins on disembarkation day? And what time they are required to be off the ship? Also, how long there is likely to be anything to do, eat, or drink onboard on disembarkation day? We want to book a transfer from the cruise port to the Istanbul Airport and need to decide what time to request pick-up. Our flight leaves at 3:35 PM - too early to take any of Azamara's tours, but also late enough to possibly require hanging around the airport for hours.
  15. Some cruise lines place Bibles in passenger cabins. You can probably save that room in your luggage.
  16. This is the first I've heard of reciprocity with MSC. Please explain how that works or post a link.
  17. The end of Azamara - Celebrity Reciprocity is February 1. I received the email (below) today. It appears that there isn't much time left for those who haven't yet sailed Azamara but want to retain their status. And any PUPs we earn from now on will not be included in our Azamara accounts. After February 1st, you will no longer earn cumulative points and have reciprocity with Celebrity and Royal Caribbean International. We are mindful that it can take some time to adjust, but this is great news for all of us! Having our own loyalty program will allow us to more effectively implement your loyalty program suggestions and improve pre- and post-cruise guest experiences. We have a few reminders to share with you: We are happy to announce that you will get to keep the same loyalty account number! Your loyalty status will be retained in the new Azamara system for past guests who have sailed on Celebrity and Azamara. We will honor the loyalty points earned on any Celebrity sailing that concludes on or before February 1st. Thank you for your continued support. We will continue to share more details with you as we move forward.
  18. We leave it on the ship. We have the same cabin on both cruises. But even if we didn't, we could still leave our luggage onboard and the cabin attendants would move it to the next cabin for us.
  19. We are doing a B2B and so have no need to get to the airport in Athens. We have the whole day in Piraeus until all-aboard. The ship sails at 5 PM. Do you still recommend doing sightseeing in Athens, or going to Corinth? If Corinth, a rental car or a tour? I must say though, I haven't been able to find any affordable tours that would get us back to the port on time, yet.
  20. We will be in the Port of Piraeus on May 28 from 5 AM until 5 PM. We have been to Athens previously and would like to tour somewhere else in Greece this time. Please post any ideas you might have for a trip from the port that would get us back before the ship sails. We are interested in ruins, country-side and almost anything else except shopping.
  21. I have sailed on the former R-class ships several times. Once from Australia to Europe on the Ocean Princess, once on the Ocean Princess from Singapore to Europe, once on the Pacific Princess from Fort Lauderdale to Northern Europe, and once on the Azamara Onward from Ft. Lauderdale to the Eastern Caribbean. I agree that these small ships rock and roll more than the big ones and sometimes I have had to take seasick meds. But I never noticed creaking. Maybe that's because we always sail in cabins low and midships. Janet&Carl, Where was your cabin?
  22. Does Azamara handle entry visas in any ports? Every cruise line I have sailed with so far has arranged entry for their passengers with the exception of those few ports of which we were notified, well in advance, to obtain visas on our own. We are booked on the Azamara Quest Spice Route in May 2023. So far we haven't heard a word from Azamara about entry requirements for any of the ports. Azamara's website says, "It is the responsibility of the guests to obtain information on countries that require visas on your voyage and land program, and then to obtain the appropriate visa. Please contact the Embassy (Consular Services) of each country on your voyage or the visa service of your choice for specific visa requirements, information, forms and fees based on your nationality." This would imply that we have to individually obtain visas for all 5 countries that the Quest will be visiting. Am I interpreting it correctly?
  23. OK. I choose "seeing more of the World, with numerous ports having overnights" by taking 180+ days to circumnavigate the globe. Which cruise lines do that?
