  1. Yes. We booked a Princess transfer from Southampton to Heathrow though our TA. It cost us $59 per person.
  2. My buddy and I are booked on a Viking Danube river cruise in October 2023. Until a few days ago, there was a note on their website about low water levels. Now it's gone. I hope that's because low water levels are no longer an issue. Why do you call yourself "ScubaCruiser"? I am a SCUBA diver.
  3. So many people complain that posting the answers to the quizzes is cheating. So what is this?
  4. Is it normal for Azamara to delay sending out confirmations for booked, but not paid for cruises? For how long? My TA says that he is having trouble getting the information he needs from Azamara so that he can issue a confirmation. Our 3 cruises are April - June, 2023, rolled over twice from a pre-pandemic booking. At this point, we don't even know how much money we owe or whether our OBC rolled over. I know it's almost 7 months until sailing, but I'm starting to get really nervous about unknown costs. Any advice?
  5. Do they do a good job? No shrinking, no fading, no snags? Can you specify cold water wash and low heat dry?
  6. Can anyone tell me how the laundry service on Viking River Cruises works for passengers and whether it's fast and reliable?
  7. Where on the Azamara website can I see my OBC?
  8. I have noticed that also. At one point, if I remember correctly, I followed a link to do a 50 point activity and DH waited until he'd received his own email invitation. He is now 5 CC points ahead of me. In any case, thank you, TraderSam for posting the ****New PUP opportunity alert **** I might have missed it otherwise. It wasn't immediately clear that there was a PUP opportunity in that email.
  9. I've booked a guarantee for a December 12, 2022 sailing. When can I expect to receive my cabin assignment?
  10. I'm not going on a "long ocean voyage" just now, but I'm getting ready for a month's trip to Europe, including two cruises. So as it's time to load up my Nook, I turned to this list for ideas. Thank you all for posting (keep them coming 😊 Did I miss anyone's? Here's an updated list: Mark Twain: Innocents Abroad The Source by James Mitchener A book with blank pages, i.e. a journal Anything by James Mitchener "The Winds Of War” by Herman Wouk “The Only Way To Cross” by John Maxtone Graham Jack Reacher book by Lee Childs titled 'Worth Dieing For' one or more novels set in a place where I'll be a book about a place, such as the one about the history of the Tower of Pisa I read before that visit When I am going to be sailing in areas of the ocean where significant maritime events have taken place, I will try to find some books to read when I am in that area. Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett Books by Brian David Bruns, a former Carnival Cruise Lines crew member. An example of a title: Ship for Brains: This ain't no galley tour. Books by Mark Greaney whose "hero" is a character called "The Gray Man". An example of a title: Agent in Place The Path Between the Seas, the definitive story of the building of the Panama canal. 11. I have tried the roll call and will not take you suggestion and try the Princess board.
  12. Why have you decided not to cruise any time soon?
  13. Footwear for Princess Northern Lights Safari and In Search of the Northern Lights excursions in Alta: Does anyone know whether the vendors supply warm boots? We're having trouble fitting our boots into our bags. The tour description says, " Dress in layers, wear thick socks and bring a hat and gloves." Not a word about shoes/boots. I called Princess just now and they were totally unhelpful.
  14. Do any of those sail all the way around the world?
  15. Does Azamara offer transfers from the disembarkation port to the airport for passengers who have made their own flight reservations? (Piraeus to ATH)
  16. My Celebrity points and reciprocal Azamara status show in my Azamara account. When is the IT split? What if it happens before my first, already booked, Azamara cruise?
  17. My first cruise on Azamara is coming up in the spring of 2023, after having been cancelled and rescheduled twice due to COVID. I currently have 243 Azamara Club points, earned by sailing on Celebrity and participating in Celebrity's Power Up Points program. Now I see here: https://www.azamara.com/loyalty/azamara-circle/transition#:~:text=As you may have heard,Partners%2C a private equity firm "Transition FAQ #3 As a Captain's Club member, will I have status and points with Azamara if I have only ever sailed with Celebrity? No. To have had status or points with Azamara, you must have at least one past sailing with Azamara." When will this go into effect? What happens to my points?
  18. My Celebrity CC points, including PUPs, are exactly the same as those in my Azamara account. Royal Caribbean Crown and Anchor status matches Celebrity Captain's Club. See these charts: https://www.celebritycruises.com/mx/captains-club/exclusive-offers/loyalty-reciprocity-program
  19. We bought a transfer from the cruise line just because it was the easiest and hopefully, reliable. Your 12:30 PM flight seems to leave little or no room for your transfer to have problems.
  20. Which World Cruises include laundry or have passenger laundromats on board? Which include wine (at least with lunch and dinner) or at least don't price gauge for drinks? Which charge little or no corkage fees to bring your own wine onboard? Which include some excursions in the cruise fare? Are there any that still require a ship's excursion to go ashore at port calls?
  21. Wow! That's a lot of cancelled cruises. If I stopped to add up all of my cancelled travel (including, but not just cruises), since the pandemic started, it might come to that much too. But I'm not going to do it because it would be depressing. I hope that you have a great time on your upcoming cruises.
  22. Then again, if you click on the audio button at the Aquavit Terrace in the deck plan (at the link I posted one page back), the narrator clearly says "breakfast, lunch, or dinner". I want to believe that, but since you've actually been on that ship, I'll have to go with your information. 🙁
