  1. I agree the nickel and diming gets old and think they could move the $7 charge for an extra starter in their already-an-extra-charge-dining-venues to the included-in-the-fare mainstream venues (ie MDR) if the extra item warrants a surcharge. And I agree food waste needs to decrease and if imposing surcharges for extra orders is the solution, I support it when done fairly and reasonably. We enjoy the PG and will continue to patronize it until such time we believe the nickel and diming greatly impacts our experience. Until then, we'll pay $8.26 for candied bacon and ask each other "why" as we battle over the last bite.
  2. Thanks @RoadTravelled this does help. Yes, the hotel prices closer to the terminal have been outrageous, which led us to consider other options. It's just kinda scary to think about an independent house or apt when you're 2 females in a big, strange place (strange as in unknown, not strange as in weird, lol, although I guess Times Square can be weird 🤭). I sure have experienced enough NY traffic to know I want nothing to do with driving a car, but that just doesn't click for my sister, so I'm sure I'll hear about it all the time until we actually get out of the taxi at the terminal, lol. I was thrilled we wouldn't have to worry about hotels, but with the flight change we have no choice. I am soooo looking forward to this cruise and can't await to see the sights from the balcony leaving NY. Blessed to be B2B so I get to experience it twice. 🤭
  3. He he! Also, I'm sure the answer is in any number of posts, but I'm not up for a scavenger hunt this early in the day, so hoping someone here can also tell me if it's best, or even possible, to have B2B bookings merged as 1 to maximize OBC. I have 2 7 day cruises B2B so each has it's own booking #, making them eligible for $100 OBC ea. But if it was a single 14 day cruise I'd get $250. Can I do anything to get the $250 or is that the cost of having B2B sailings? Thanks for helping the CCL shareholder newbie!!
  4. As a "seasoned" person with a very limited and admittedly unrefined palate, I wish my parents had encouraged me to be a bit adventurous with food. We were not required or encouraged to try new things; if we didn't like something, or thought we wouldn't like something, we didn't have to try it. Today I am a very picky eater and know I miss out.
  5. It's a slippery slope and fine line on how early in the interview process one discloses upcoming schedule plans. Telling a Recruiter during the first interview about a vacation you're taking in 3 months likely may result in no second interview, but waiting until you report for work certainly smells of deception. Yes, empowers deserve to know. Sometimes they can wait for you, sometimes they can't. Remember, the hiring process is two-sided and has to work for both sides.
  6. Hey @hard_eight exactly which details do I black out? Submitting first request and would like to not screw it up.
  7. Don't they still have the taco bar? It had chips.
  8. GREAT question; curious to see Carnival's official response. I hope I don’t need to find out in Sept when I'm on Venezia.
  9. It can also be mushy and lacking flavor when left sitting in a pot of hot water - boiled corn on the cob is not good, either. I am now craving sweet, hot, crispy corn on cob 🌽
  10. Hey - I never considered the lack of door slamming by not having neighboring balconies, but you're right, so much quieter!!
  11. Thanks - "next time" really is going to be next time!!
  12. Sad to hear we're probably not going to ever get a behind the scenes peek - we always passed them over saying we could always do them "next time."
  13. Like @bajae I quite like being very close to the water; we've been blessed with amazing dolphin, whale and otter shows. We also prefer a true aft view as we like the wake views. They also tend to encourage the wildlife viewings as dolphins like playing in the wake.
  14. Very curious in seeing the responses. I have tried without success in booking.
  15. Thank you for posting the link here- I've read your post, love your pictures and am curious to read what's next. And on the other thread, you'll see I've invited myself to your dinner table for some of that candied 🥓 🥓
  16. Unfortunate the candied bacon 🥓. Was only good, not great. I think it's the reason we cruise now 😆 🤣 I have never seen so many orders of candied bacon on one table - we split an order - can I dine with you next time, lol? Fire alarm aside, sounds like your trip was a good one. AK is beautiful!!
  17. We will be taking my parents (Navy vets) and brother in October and know wherever the selected location will be, is where they're supposed to be. My husband knows when the time comes for me, he's to take me to AK and let HAL determine where I will debark for the final time. I appreciate HAL doing this and with such respect as it deserves. Thank you all for participating in this thread; it comforts me as I get through the months leading toward my family ceremony and validates I've made the right decision.
  18. Aligned with the others, check in at Seattle is easy, organized and quick. Your assigned time will not matter; so long as the terminal is open, you can walk in, go through security and board. So, you should book whichever shuttle you want. If you board by noonish, you can have lunch in MDR. Be sure to grab a cookie on your way through the terminal, yummy! Safe travels - enjoy your cruise!
  19. Fresh squeezed juice is a charge unless you gave a drink package; you can ask for it in Lido but they'll likely try to give you the regular, so you may need to be persistent. You'll know if they're going to give you the correct kind because they'll ask for your card. You can order it in MDR. MDR lunch menu is same daily. Attached is Eurodam April 29.
  20. Every ship we've been on since Covid restart, we've used the vouchers at any bar for any drink, including Explorations.
  21. I always say I'm going to do that "next time" but the next cruise I find myself in the mosh pit...you know where this is going, lol. When will I learn? Maybe Sept will be "next time" 🙂 Did that seem to be the best scenario - go hang at Lido?
  22. Wow! Some of those I would absolutely try, but can keep this one on the other side of the pond, lol. My how far we've strayed from Pinnacle Grill to chips... at least it's all still about food.
  23. I have never heard of those, but I do love pickles.
