  1. I understand that ship happens, and it's easy to get distracted by everything else going on, but damn, show up to your reservation!
  2. Don't be overly concerned with "class of ship". Just look at the deck plans and see what they have. Some think the Breakaway+ class is the one with the go-carts. While it is true that the ships with go-carts are Breakaway+ (and Prima), not all Breakaway+ have go-carts. The Dawn is an old ship, but refurbished in 2021, so has "new" stuff. It's smaller, for sure, and in its own class. There are a number of relatively similar size ships in the "Jewel class", but they are all a little different in their own ways. Just explore the deck plans and see what hits your mark.
  3. My wife says she's an enabler every time I have my 10th double Crown of the day. I can live with that. 🙃
  4. I believe the octopus was at Palomar on Prima, but I can't count on my short-term memory. I only eat the buffet for a quick lunch, so I've never had the pretzel rolls.
  5. Personally, I'll take French Onion soup anytime it's available, but in Le Bistro they take it to another level, and I've never been disappointed. The creme brulee in the MDR has only rarely been subpar. The escargot in Le Bistro was great. The appetizers everywhere often impressed when least expected. Try everything. There was seared/smoked octopus somewhere that was incredible. This is hard. 😄
  6. Our thoughts exactly. We follow any roll calls for our cruises. However, we never sign up for a meet and greet. Just not our thing. But please, if you do sign up for a meet and greet -- SHOW UP. I can't imagine organizing a meet and greet for 30 people, and only 2 show up. Have some respect.
  7. Thank you for a fantastic review. We will be on Escape to Bermuda for our first time in November, and I'm saving all your Bermuda tips. The quote above is why we never travel during the summer, or other school breaks. Some adults are difficult enough to deal with, kids and teens bring it to a whole other level. Hoping for success in early November.
  8. If you have a reservation, just get there 15 minutes before and look at faces of those in the stand-by line. It's precious,
  9. Very well put. At what point do you sacrifice quality for cost? Do you lower the quality, or do you raise the cost? It has to be one or the other. They can't coexist .
  10. Hey, rb9, I'm glad that you agree, but I'm too lazy to shift from lower case. But on the bright side, you did get my message in its entirety. It's really not that hard.
  11. Ouch. Seems a bit -- tight. Glad it worked for you,
  12. Couldn't say it better. But using capital letters would be helpful.
  13. What did the NCL CSS say when you called them?
  14. *sigh* I'm sorry you didn't get the whole story. Whatever, to each his own...
  15. Five will be tough without a connecting cabin. What Royal balcony cabin worked "great" for 5 people? Curious minds want to know.
  16. That's a preference problem. Not sure anything will "fit your bill", if Choir of Man doesn't. The "Q" had a great county band, albeit with an English accent. Maybe that's more your style.
  17. And that's just fine. It makes the board worth coming back to.
  18. I appreciate someone who's done the research. Rather than, "OMG, am I getting screwed? NCL sucks!" You know what I mean?
  19. Ok. What did the NCL CSS say when you called them?
  20. Ok. I would just make certain that your assumptions are correct. I'm not familiar with solo cruising.
  21. Oh Bird, definitive statements like that are often disproved.
  22. Have you clicked on the link to change your cabin?
  23. Yes, it does. Have you bothered to talk to your room steward?
