Boarded Majestic on Dec 10. Arrived at OPT 11.45, walked on to ship at 12.10 (15 mins of that was taken up going through the security snake) As for dining, I made no MDR reservations and never had to wait. Times varied depending on what was happening on the day. First night I went to Concerto first to find quite a long line. Went down to check out Symphony and walked straight in (go figure).

In my recent Majestic stateroom (deluxe balcony) there was the normal switch controlled ceiling light in the entry plus the super bright sensor controlled ceiling light outside the bathroom (i.e. in close proximity)

I second a visit to Davenport. Also take a look at Waiheke, another ferry ride and vineyards at the destination.

Last couple of times (and again coming February) I have stayed at the M Social which is close to the cruise ship wharves.

Pls clarify whether the fees you encountered were charged by your bank or the relevant Australian retailers. Princess does charge a fee for payments by credit cards but not for debit cards.

Re shuttle to hotel. I have in the past used https://www.supershuttle.co.nz/ and plan to do so again in February. Cost is NZ$ 30.00pp and they drop you at your hotel.

Just off Majestic and it was definitely NOT available on the stateroom TV. There was a heading for it but that only referred you to the app (where it worked fine for me). There was also a DIY printer near guest services.
