  1. Make sure the TA can process everyone’s credit cards. Sometimes US companies can’t take my credit card because I have a Canadian address for example. You’ll probably be coordinating a lot of things with the cruise line including private events etc so hopefully the TA can do all the legwork for you.
  2. Hopefully people also had good travel insurance coverage that will cover the additional costs of getting to the next port. I’d be curious as to why a large group made it back but the next gaggle of people were later and missed the boat (ship). Was it an even later train or did they take their time coming back expecting the captain was waiting etc. I’d be running back as quick as possible to the ship if I knew I was late but some people aren’t like that.
  3. Gem TA in December the pass is 419.55CDN for a 15 night cruise. So about 300USD seems like a really good deal compared to other cruises.
  4. Also depend on how port intensive your cruise is. I know some people who say the spa is essential in Alaska but honestly I don’t have that much spare time when visiting Alaska. I am thinking of getting the spa pass for my TA but there are a lot of sea days and the price is really good considering the length of the cruise.
  5. Not if you use the Amazon app on your phone. Trust me every time an American gives a link I have to go back into the app and switch the country which isn’t the easiest to find.
  6. Haha 2 women we had 2 suitcases, 2 wheeled carry on’s, 2 bags. Total weight of everything was 168lb when we came home. Keep in mind I also had some work stuff in there.
  7. I haven’t sailed on Apex but I know the dryer on Millie would have fit my universal diffuser that I travel with. On a week long cruise I just let my hair air dry the one or two times I wash it though. The hair dryer supplied was weak and required pushing a little button so if Apex is the same your best to bring your own. I have very thick and curly (perm) hair and it takes my hair 5-7 hours to air dry so I understand your challenge.
  8. No the fairmont across the street I think offers it for daytime but I actually left 70lb of luggage for 4 days at a place a block up the street. We went to Vancouver island and didn’t want to pay the insane price of the extra luggage on the float plane to return so we left as much weight as we could in Vancouver and picked it up before flying out of YVR. Great type of service that I will use again and it’s available near most ports or downtowns.
  9. You can also look at luggage storage options depending on what you might want to do during the day. We had our luggage stored just outside the cruise terminal in Vancouver and it was fantastic.
  10. Ahh thanks for the clarification, lots of time then. A lot can change in a few weeks and a lot can be organized in that time as well.
  11. Flights to Tel Aviv are being cancelled by airlines. Everyone is watching this hour by hour to see what is happening. NCL is on it looking for alternatives and trying to make a plan I’m sure. Hopefully they will be communicated shortly about the next affected cruise.
  12. Izena I’m so sorry to hear your bad news. I hope his recovery goes better.
  13. If 15 drinks isn’t enough then drink something other than light beer.
  14. That I am, getting a year older in a few days but I’m in my early to mid 30s. Lots of travel time left. Taking a big family cruise next year with 4 generations from my 13 year old nephew to my 85 year old grandmother.
  15. Haha ya I was on a one of the last cruises out of Canada that required testing. Happy that stress is over. Unfortunately I’m certain in my lifetime I will have to deal with that again. 50 years ahead of me it will surely happen again.
  16. Or your in Alaska in September and only get to see “fancy flip flops”
  17. Actually in Germany we noticed a lot of people wearing sneakers and suits together. It was quite surprising but when your running on your feet for 10 hours on concrete the smart women don’t wear heels. Keep in mind I was at a big textile and soft craft industry trade show. Big difference between high end leather sneakers and a pair of new balance trainers meant for the gym though. Actual athletic shoes are more of an American style for sure.
  18. Your husband will be fine in the MDR.
  19. White leather sneakers are fabulous to dress up or down. Very stylish and in but also a classic.
  20. Didn’t you know… people don’t read, also people don’t listen. Maybe the only way that would satisfy some would have been telepathic communication but then they would complain about that being an invasion of privacy. But seriously you could have shoved the sign in their face and people would still say they never knew.
  21. Congrats on english being your first (and possibly only) language and never making a typo. Oh and don’t forget you’ve never made a mistake with autocorrect and have lots of extra time to proof read everything repeatedly. I rather see a typo than everything be written using AI like so many professionals are now doing.
  22. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong. Communication isn’t clear and obviously not accurate at times.
  23. NCL B2B2B would be an option for 2024 but in 2025 it’s not going to Australia and who knows the 2026 schedule will look like. you can look at Cunard or Carnival as options. I hope to do a transpacific in fall 2026
  24. Certain rate codes give you less or no perk of being a shareholder. I’d say that’s the exact conversation that’s happening.
  25. I thought some cruise lines had a different menu for drinks in Europe and the pricing was different and the included price was different. That would account for vat rules.
