  1. It’s only limiting tourism operators. It’s really a weird way of doing it. Other areas impose limits but usually daily or weekly limit to restrict environmental impacts.
  2. I have nave seen anyone with more than their allotted number of carry ons but it drives me nuts to see people with oversized carry ons and then put everything in the overhead bin. If you stuff your carry on roller full it will be too big. Personal item is suppose to be stowed under the seat in front of you (except in seats where that is not available). one thing to note is that your coat, prescription medications, duty free shopping, and food purchased at the airport usually do not count as part of your carry on allowance. This may be why you see some people with more than 2 bags. I carry a small reusable shopping bag for these items if needed.
  3. To me it’s a cheapening of the brand. NCL has Flow which is boxed water. Starbucks here and most other food places I go to have Flow water so it’s fairly easy to avoid bottled water. I so wish water bottle filling stations were available on ships, it’s would be a huge selling point for me. I agree water bottles is not a reason to avoid a brand but it’s just another thing and I find the value for the price to be decreasing with prices going up especially with the high single supplement.
  4. You can also carry on your carry on and personal item which adds a decent amount of volume.
  5. This is really starting to convince me my cruise in a few weeks will be my last with Celebrity.
  6. Too many to even start listing. This comes up a lot of the boards. I recommend googling for a menu or look in the app in the bars menus to see what is $10 or less.
  7. The decor seemed older on this boat in some areas. I ended up booking it and am very much looking forward to my cruise.
  8. Hey Terri I haven’t done WW in years but do they still have the extra points you can use over the week? If so you can use those on one day which would be the same as calorie cycling. A lot of people use the idea of a cheat meal or cheat day a week, it all works the same way in the end. It’s also good for your mental health to indulge a little once a week. poutine is great and the saying is “the closer to Quebec City the better the poutine”. I remember one day watching Martha Stewart and she butchered the poutine, it was so sad to watch. It’s a chip stand classic around here and should only be made with fresh curds and “beef” gravy.
  9. Hahaha easier said than done. I was a solo and tried to get early dining on a half empty ship and they refused. So I made friends and joined them at their table for dinner. Pissed off the maître d. I really hope he’s not on the ship when I return this year.
  10. Don’t forget the matching Flatter as a wrinkle release spray 😉
  11. Jan- I know right a good poutine is amazing especially in the middle of knowhere Quebec. I’m exhibiting at a yarn and fibre arts festival with my hand-dyed yarn, embroidery thread, and supplies. have you tried calorie cycling where one day a week you eat more? Sometimes our bodies get into a starvation mode and eating more occasionally can get us out of that and back to loosing. when my weight jumped this week I knew I hadn’t eaten nearly enough calories to cause the gain and that the simplest awnser was “water weight”. I’m glad I figured out the most likely culprits and addressed them right away. flying out for my next cruise in exactly 4 weeks.
  12. Have you actually looked at what is happening since the hours after the flood happened? The news hasn’t been updated, back to “normal” isn’t news.
  13. It was a difficult week. I suddenly put on 1.5 lb so I spent the week fighting to drop that weight. I still managed to loose 0.8lb from last weeks mark. figured it was probably fluid retention mostly from eating too much salt and cheese. I cut back on both which has helped. Could have also been hormones which played a role. This weekend I am exhibiting at a big event for 3 days which is always hard to eat right and not snack for me. Hopefully my meds help avoid the snacking but I am going to pack some food to bring so I’m not tempted by the poutine every day. Maybe as a treat I’ll convince my mom to split a small poutine with me one of the days.
  14. When I did the math it didn’t make sense to upgrade for us. My favorite scotch is only $1 extra and my mother will not be drinking 5 or more martinis a day.
  15. Except for traffic delays etc. I just went and checked on the towns website and no road closures were listed in the most recent updates. There was infrastructure damage which impacted waste water and other buildings however.
  16. I pretty sure you can just log into the app and find a ship and sailing and look at the bar menus. Obviously not everything is listed but it will give you an idea.
  17. Oh I am watching regularly as well. I figure whatever I may get is the same amount I would bid for a upgrade. 118 days till my first NCL cruise.
  18. Just looked at the menu for my upcoming trip (Millenium) and a daiquiri was 10$ so it would be covered. If for example a drink is $11 you would then be charged $1.20 which is the difference and it’s gratuity.
  19. I assumed OP meant due to the recent historical flooding event. Most tour operators suspended sales due to hitting the cap for the capacity issue. Very disappointing for anyone travelling later in the season. I went last year and planned to return this year but no luck securing tickets.
  20. I pack only necklaces and my hack now is Saran Wrap (cling film). Just lay out a piece put your necklace on top and then fold it like a little envelope. It’s flexible to pack, absolutely no tangling, works for any kind of necklace.
  21. Is the park closed? According to what I found online it doesn’t have any special notices. From a quick google maps search none of the roads used to get from the ship to the glacier are closed either. It doesn’t like like there’s any reason to cancel tours at this point.
  22. Omg yes love your revenge too. Tethered balloon ride is a baby ride. I use to be part of a competitive chase team (the mascot pretty much since I was about 6) and I had a tethered ride for my 6th birthday (it was a gift from the pilot). I love hot air ballooning but I also am well aware of the risks. I’ve been in 2 crash landings as a kid. Every balloon is custom sewn in a small workshop and the baskets have to be woven by hand. It’s absolutely amazing when you start thinking about it. You don’t just order a balloon on amazon and get it delivered next day. I’m sorry for everyone who had their ride cancelled and hope you can one day have your dream come true. My mom was crew and they had John Glen in a balloon and he couldn’t believe “it’s just hot air” 😂
  23. It hasn’t been an issue for me but HorseyMike mentioned the issue. Just agreeing no matter young or old the solarium is a nice adult space .
  24. Check out museums sometimes they will allow you to store luggage for a small fee while your there. A few years ago I had a late evening flight out of Phoenix and went to the botanical gardens for the day, had lunch and dinner on site and enjoyed my day. It was one of the highlights of my trip.
  25. Must have been one epic first cruise to not have remembered parts of it. Just be happy social media and smart phones weren’t everywhere during those days or you may have never lived that one down. my 30th birthday in Vegas has video evidence of some moments I don’t really remember… thanks mom lol
