  1. You can also look at luggage storage options depending on what you might want to do during the day. We had our luggage stored just outside the cruise terminal in Vancouver and it was fantastic.
  2. Ahh thanks for the clarification, lots of time then. A lot can change in a few weeks and a lot can be organized in that time as well.
  3. Flights to Tel Aviv are being cancelled by airlines. Everyone is watching this hour by hour to see what is happening. NCL is on it looking for alternatives and trying to make a plan I’m sure. Hopefully they will be communicated shortly about the next affected cruise.
  4. Izena I’m so sorry to hear your bad news. I hope his recovery goes better.
  5. If 15 drinks isn’t enough then drink something other than light beer.
  6. That I am, getting a year older in a few days but I’m in my early to mid 30s. Lots of travel time left. Taking a big family cruise next year with 4 generations from my 13 year old nephew to my 85 year old grandmother.
  7. Haha ya I was on a one of the last cruises out of Canada that required testing. Happy that stress is over. Unfortunately I’m certain in my lifetime I will have to deal with that again. 50 years ahead of me it will surely happen again.
  8. Or your in Alaska in September and only get to see “fancy flip flops”
  9. Actually in Germany we noticed a lot of people wearing sneakers and suits together. It was quite surprising but when your running on your feet for 10 hours on concrete the smart women don’t wear heels. Keep in mind I was at a big textile and soft craft industry trade show. Big difference between high end leather sneakers and a pair of new balance trainers meant for the gym though. Actual athletic shoes are more of an American style for sure.
  10. Your husband will be fine in the MDR.
  11. White leather sneakers are fabulous to dress up or down. Very stylish and in but also a classic.
  12. Didn’t you know… people don’t read, also people don’t listen. Maybe the only way that would satisfy some would have been telepathic communication but then they would complain about that being an invasion of privacy. But seriously you could have shoved the sign in their face and people would still say they never knew.
  13. Congrats on english being your first (and possibly only) language and never making a typo. Oh and don’t forget you’ve never made a mistake with autocorrect and have lots of extra time to proof read everything repeatedly. I rather see a typo than everything be written using AI like so many professionals are now doing.
  14. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong. Communication isn’t clear and obviously not accurate at times.
  15. NCL B2B2B would be an option for 2024 but in 2025 it’s not going to Australia and who knows the 2026 schedule will look like. you can look at Cunard or Carnival as options. I hope to do a transpacific in fall 2026
  16. Certain rate codes give you less or no perk of being a shareholder. I’d say that’s the exact conversation that’s happening.
  17. I thought some cruise lines had a different menu for drinks in Europe and the pricing was different and the included price was different. That would account for vat rules.
  18. Pretty much get dressed like you were going to any restaurant on land and your good. You wouldn’t wear a swimsuit to a restaurant for example. Have some basic manners and your set for an enjoyable cruise.
  19. I’ve always been warned against carnival but am looking at the transpacific crossing since NCL doesn’t really have much of any. I figure a 20+ day cruise would be a different vibe than a short trip in the Caribbean.
  20. When I’m home and something happens to the internet or banking systems I don’t worry too much because I have resources. When travelling if all debit goes down or the biggest internet provider has issues I don’t have that safety net. So even though I don’t carry cash at home I always carry cash when I travel. Yes I know it doesn’t happen often but they do happen around the world occasionally and the more I travel the higher the chances of it happening one day while abroad.
  21. The smaller menu makes sense but that doesn’t mean they are executing it well or that the menu is that good. cook to order usually means that everything is prepped, sauces are made, some items are partially cooked. For example a pasta dish you can picture a process similar to what happens at the buffet pasta station. It’s not like they have a giant pot of pasta with sauce that they plop into your plate a scoop of.
  22. I have no intention on carrying alcohol. I’m in the planning process of a cruise/camping trip. I’d be bringing camping gear including a knife over 4 inches, camp stove etc. Actually probably alcohol as well but I don’t drink wine so it would be scotch probably.
  23. This is why I’m planning on packing a separate “naughty bag” which I plan on surrendering. Just a bag with all the things that they will want or I don’t care about so I can go when the line is short and tell them to just hold it. First I will get additional info to see what would be in the naughty bag. I haven’t been to the naughty room yet (well not on a cruise ship at least) and only plan on it intentionally.
  24. Thanks Jan and Izena I’m not stressing much. My doctor isn’t too worried so neither am I. I’ve got enough other stressors to deal with.
  25. My cousin offered to make me a birthday cake but I requested instead that she make mini cupcakes so they are built in portion control. Turns out it’s less work for her and better for me. We decided on a nautical theme for my love of cruising.
