  1. Exactly, and people with the Basic Drink package may still be tempted to walk about the ship with a glass of wine from a bottle they brought onboard.
  2. So then it is kind of like the policy of a 6 bottle limit to bring on board. It’s the policy but people do it because Oceania chooses not to enforce it. I mean people depart the GDR with a glass of wine they had there and take it to the evening show for example. How would Oceania really police for the most part where that glass of wine originated from? Their own stateroom or from a dining venue?
  3. 5 minutes on phone with Oceania rep is not an hour or more.
  4. We had the same experience on Saturday. Would book excursions and it would say added to cart and then when go to cart not all would be there and pricing made no sense at all. Tried a couple of times and same issue again and again. Finally just called them and the Oceania rep did it all in 5 minutes or less and the pricing was then exactly as we thought it would be. Then received the detailed excursion doc which outlined pricing to the t. Now the excursion pricing showing in our account online still looks wonky but the other matches what we expected and what we paid after our call.
  5. Was just on Vista in May and they were very generous in their pours and were continually topping them off. Also they only asked for our cards at the end of dinner, never after each glass. We had the Basic Drink Package.
  6. Been a topic in a few other threads. Actually it was already refurbished in 2021!! You know, according to the Oceania website!! As I recall from seeing in other threads. It was originally scheduled for 22 days. Riviera was 20 as I recall. Riviera seemed to meets its schedule. Assuming they now figure the gap in cruises from 4/30 -5/17 is sufficient??? Last cruise ends in Trieste and first begins in Barcelona. Not sure where to be dry docked but I did see something when originally scheduled it was to be in Marseille. But……as noted all speculation since seems to be a big secret and nobody seems to have seen an official ‘official’ announcement from Oceania.
  7. I’m not sure, but I’m thinking they were asking what if they had booked a cruise with NO OLife choice, which was an option prior to Simply More.
  8. Since we are talking about specialty restaurants. Question for anyone, we’ve never been on one of the R ships before and have an upcoming one on Sirena in a Penthouse Suite. Are you able to do Order/Dine in from the Specialty Restaurants? Or is that option only limited to the Owners and Vista Suites?
  9. From what I saw any jean that was dark washed and of the lighter weight denim was fine, especially in the GDR. Heck there were two women on our cruise that dressed pretty bad. They even showed up one evening in the GDR with sleeveless tees with graphics, and ball caps with their leggings. Shown to their seats. My guess is they most likely were allowed as the staff did not want a scene to be made. And who knows they may have already started that at the entrance. Every time saw them onboard and off they were dressed pretty much the same way.
  10. Because I thought if they were on display and they had to tell you why they could not provide them to you that that would have been even a more unfair position to put the staff in than they already were.
  11. Same here and in my pdf it actually stated that the SM package pricing was same as the previous Your World.
  12. And plenty people have and 2 for 1 and….and…it goes on and on. And honestly not apples to apples……as those that cruise with Oceania know they do not charge extra for Specialty dining, but do know they charge extra for the second device. 🙄
  13. I think if you look at my past posts I’m not out looking for them to doing shady business and as I noted, probably not shady but just their usual business as usual or one side of the house not having a clue what the other side is doing. Which just tells me they have a great product that I like but the way they communicate and do business could use some changes. 😉😉😉
  14. SM rolled on 7/1, and Summer Sale first noted in here on 7/6 because some people got a heads up from their TA, so probably didn’t hit their website for a few days later for the general public to know about it. And as you recall there was much pent up anxiety about SM, so many probably moved quickly to switch doing the MATH they had available to them at that point. Ok, shady may be too strong, how about Oceania doing business as usual?? Which is even worse. IMO. Hey, I love Oceania and have 3 cruises booked for next year, but I’m sorry they knew they were making this change and…….nothing. And still have it as in their marketing for SM on the website.
  15. I also assume many switched before the summer sale was announced and that only impacts 72 cruises. Regardless, just a shady way of doing business IMO.
  16. Unless that was your OLife choice! 😉. So now you switched for shore excursions that as we know many don’t like.
  17. Hmmmm, so all those people that switched over to SM after the change and used the additional Wi-Fi as part of the reason as it made it more attractive from a dollar standpoint kind of didn’t get quite the advantage thought. Have to say a bit shady by Oceania as they knew at that point when they rolled out SM that this change was also going to happen. Oh well. JMO.
  18. Just curious, did they have the Tylenol and Advil on display to be sold? Or were you simply inquiring if they actually had any to purchase that was not displayed?
  19. Or if you are wondering about a specific stateroom just put that number in and it will tell you if available or not.
  20. Clearing the tables quickly is certainly a thing in the states. I just made a reservation for a restaurant in NYC for 9:00 on a Sunday evening. And it states when you make the reservation you have the reservation until 10:30. Now I’m not sure what they’d do if we are not done at 10:30??? most likely just remind us or maybe nothing and they just state this as it seeds the thought in a certain percent of those making reservations to adhere to it.
  21. Agree, was on Vista in May and had no issues with the Wi-Fi, once you navigated the wonky sign on process if using two devices and had only access for one device at a time. But hey, that should be a moot point with SimplyMore.
  22. I’d just echo some of the comments above: London, we also enjoyed The Churchill Museum, Stockholm, the Vasa Museum was definitely a highlight. Copenhagen, the canal boat ride was excellent. Klaipeda: the cruise terminal was close to Old Town. We just strolled around there and walked down to a park that was nice with a lot of sculptures throughout. Probably spent a few hours there and back to the ship. This would be a nice slow paced day to just kind of take it easy in my opinion as we usually need a day like that but still able to get off the ship. Berlin would be tough as just so much to see and I’d think time would be fairly limited.
  23. Sorry, I misread for some reason, I’m blaming the wine!
