  1. There might be some fleet differences then. I'm sure on Koningsdam the bar "stations" had automatic bean to cup machines.
  2. They had live country music on in the rock bar sometimes.
  3. Although if one is a coffee snob, the bars/cafes that have barista made coffee should be preferable. The lido machines are automatic bean to cup machines.
  4. The thing is you could ask 20 different people and get 20 different reviews. I had my first "cruise" on QM2 at the weekend, and on QV in January. I much preferred the feel of QV, however slaughtered I might get for saying that.
  5. Given the bathrooms are identical to those on the HA Pinnacle ships, they need to keep on top of the grouting on the plastic tiles. It looked awful on Koningsdam.
  6. Maybe I'm being unduly critical but I thought the seminars in the World Stage on Koningsdam were a bit weird. They were given by the cruise director who wad reading off an autocue. Kinda wondered what the point was..
  7. I'd take the Canadian inside passage over most of those tourist trap ports in Alaska. I'd take the Canadian inside passage over most of those tourist trap ports in Alaska. The CIP was absolutely glorious on Friday on Koningsdam.
  8. Only the breakfast menus show for me. The lunch and dinner menu links show a 404 style error.
  9. If anyone sees any pictures or videos of a regular balcony cabin (not club), please do share the link! Edit: I see a photo from Richard on the previous page.
  10. Thanks for this. I rang them and they offered me an upgrade to an ocean view cabin (from inside) for £58 ($72USD) for my 7 day Alaska cruise this weekend. The other option was a family ocean view for £78/$98USD.
  11. Thanks. Mine is this weekend!
  12. What's the phone number for the "upsell" department please?
  13. Have a cruise this weekend with no allocated cabin - it's all in the thrill of the surprise.
  14. As the person below has said, if the operator has been negligent in their duties they can bare the cost of repatriation, and or fined.
  15. I imagine they'll be detained in an immigration detention centre and then deported via air. Possibly at Cunard's expense if they have been negligent.
  16. How does that work? Surely they don't have UK Visas and Immigration officers onboard? Quite the gig if they do!
  17. I guess they overbook cheaper cabins. They are hoping to monetise the upgrades before having to upgrade people for free.
  18. Not really. US Citizens (amongst others) use the egates with no invasive questioning. Completely different to the US inbound experience.
  19. Not wishing to jeopardise the transatlantic special relationship but Coffee Mate is work of the devil. The worst bit about hotel rooms in North America.
  20. When are cabins usually assigned? Mine on Konningsdam is a few weeks before OPs above but still not assigned
  21. As I mentioned previously the OBC shareholder perk credit was showing on the app for a day, then disappeared. An updated PDF statement from HA shows the correct amount - so perhaps a bug in the system.
  22. I also have the issue where my OBC has disappeared from the app. Had the Stockperks email yesterday and it was showing the $100 on the Holland America app but now it's gone today.
  23. Yes, SOU to HAM. It's certainly very random.
  24. I took a two night cruise on QV in January. Just had the $28 service charge randomly refunded out of the blue. Has anyone ever experience anything similar?
