  1. More than once I have posted here that FF’s threads should be made into stickies!!!!!
  2. I truly enjoyed most of my meals on Mariner Nov 2022 (16 days LA to Lima). I recall 1 or 2 meals that “were not to my liking.” Food was good, ingredients fresh, just not what I liked. I’m sure others would have had no issues. One example, a power bowl lunch in CR. All the ingredients were presented separately in the bowl. I’m used to my salads mixed. See? Trivial difference. I readily admit that others could have no problem w that meal, but “it was not to my liking.” Not a strong criticism at all. I really enjoyed ALMOST every meal on Mariner. My fellow pax were OUTSTANDING and I had a BLAST!
  3. I certainly appreciate this thread as I was unaware of the article. TY OP!
  4. I want to follow Boogie & Kashia around! Whatever ship I am on, I hope they will be there! WHAT A BLAST!
  5. Well, I do agree that the invoices that I have for my two solo cruises on Regent are confusing. I have booked two cruises each with a 25% single supplement. The first item on each invoice is twice the advertised price, then the single supplement and then a discount for “early booking” that is half the doubled fare. I know, so confusing! However, the single supplement on my 2 invoices is somewhere around 10% of the (doubled) price, therefore still not more than 25% of the advertised price. I book early so there are lots of other discounts. Still very expensive (but worth it!). So, I suggest the OP ask their experienced TA to explain the pricing to their satisfaction. Enjoy your cruise.
  6. HaHa! I was definitely out of place living in Western Mass. I tried talking to people standing next to me in the grocery store check out line. They looked at me like, “Why is this woman talking to me?” LOL!
  7. Yes, I used luggage forward with no problems November 2022 from Austin to Los Angeles. I had read on these boards that there can be problems with shipping luggage if you put anything in your luggage that isn’t clothes or shoes. No toiletries, no aerosol, nothing, nothing.! Word to the wise! (Plus Air tags!)
  8. Oceania’s R class ships have 656 pax https://www.oceaniacruises.com/ships compared to Mariner’s 696 https://www.rssc.com/ships/seven_seas_mariner
  9. That was not my experience on Sirena in March.
  10. The ship’s survey is only available onboard the ship. Now that you have disembarked, your option is to send an email. Someone here will be able to help with an email address. I hope you enjoyed your cruise!
  11. My sentiments exactly. O is my favorite cruiseline due to the a la carte pricing model. However, I will say that my one Regent cruise on Mariner was superior to my previous three O Cruises on Marina, Riviera and Sirena. But all of my O cruises have been great, so no complaints here!
  12. This was exactly what I did on my first Regent Cruise on Mariner. I was aware of this issue beforehand from reading this forum. Just like you, I kept asking for something different until I found an acceptable white and an acceptable red. I had so much fun on that cruise, I can hardly wait for my next Regent Cruise on Voyager next year!
  13. I was also concerned about similar reports about Mariner’s plumbing prior to my November 2022 cruise out of Los Angeles. I did have to call a plumber to fix my toilet as it wasn’t flushing properly once. It got fixed quickly and there never was any sewage involved or any smell. I was really pleased with Mariner. I can hardly wait until my next Regent cruise on Voyager!
  14. Wow! Thx for sharing. Not a nice way to start your cruise, but hopefully everything will improve from here (how could it not?).
  15. WOW! Not my experience at all. The best thing I like about Oceania and Regent are my fellow pax. For the most part, I find them intelligent, successful and well-traveled. I’m sorry you had a different experience.
  16. One other option, which I take advantage of during happy hour, is to order a double. During HH I order a double vodka cranberry, and that is my two-for-one price. On my last cruise that would set me back about $13 daily, along with the $25 corkage fee every other day to open my brought-on-board wine bottles. Along w Captain’s welcome and repeaters party, I think I come out ahead, along w no “pressure” to drink more to “get my money’s worth”. YMMV.
  17. Thank you very much for sharing your experience and perspectives on Mariner. I was on the Los Angeles to Lima repositioning cruise debarking early December 2022. It was my first regent cruise and I could not fault Mariner for anything. On the cruise prior to mine, I did hear of reports of the bathroom toilet, not flushing. Yikes. It happened to me once and I contacted my steward or butler I don’t recall. It was fixed quickly. Could you share with us any details of repairs or renovations needed. Thank you.
  18. Agree, however sometimes I am soooo busy having fun that I don’t “study” carefully enuf. I missed my “beginner’s” Party w the Captain on my first Regent cruise. Oh well! Had a blast anyway.
  19. When I cruise solo on Oceania, and on Regent, I receive a personalized invitation to each solo event, left for me in my state room. It has occurred that some solos were overlooked, which was rectified as soon as the associate cruise director in charge of solo events was made aware. Yes, the events are generally listed in Currents but are easily overlooked if one scans the list quickly.
  20. Just to confirm, did you also submit the shareholder benefit form? Available on the O website or by a google search…….
  21. Oceania has no idea which investments are in your portfolio until you provide a (redacted) statement. Not sure if you were under the impression they will notify all NCL stockholders, or maybe I misread your question. Also, there are lots of different posts here on CC giving a wide range of response times to receive the Stockholders OBC. Sometimes they respond promptly and sometimes they don’t…..in which case resubmit your forms. Enjoy your cruise!
  22. Yes, very good point. If I were to send food back, it delays the next course for everyone else at the table. Of course, I could still provide feedback to an appropriate person, however we’ve already covered how reluctant I am to do that.
  23. I fully understand the attitude that, unless you know raise concerns, then they can’t fix the issue. I think I was raised differently, or have a different personality. I don’t like to complain. I don’t want anyone to get into trouble. So, I would find it very difficult to send food back, or to talk to a general manager, or maître d’ about a less than stellar eating experience, or even a bad eating experience. and I think the aggressive tone I’ve read in a few posts in this thread are very unfortunate.
  24. The other thing to think about is, there will be more children and grandchildren on a seven day Alaska cruise than on a 14 day cruise, also, depending on which month you travel.
