I forgot to check for a definite answer.  With that said, it is my favorite and I didn’t see anyone with one, nor was it in the app.

    No problem. Thanks for answering.

I’ll keep checking with the live posts. It’s just my own informal survey. Trying to see what ships might have it ,my guess is none of them have it ,as far as Princess cruises goes.

  2. @FancyPants21 thanks for checking on the Dr Pepper situation. The only reason why I was asking is because one person on CC stated that there was Dr Pepper and then they further back tracked and said oh it was their cabin mate not them that got the diet Dr Pepper. It was maybe a substitution and maybe only on the Regal etc.

So -thank you so much for your answer. I definitely have never seen it onboard. so this confirms.

Thanks. With royal caribbean you are able to bring cans of soda onto the cruise. Is that not the case with princess?

Yes you are “ allowed “ on Princess to bring soda/ pop of your choosing onboard . I believe it is 12 cans, but probably not challenged if more?

  4. @Ken the cruiser

    Thanks!,

just my curiosity. It’s so much better when somebody is actually on a ship to ask these questions. Another CC poster said they got diet Dr Pepper on Regal Princess this year, but again I’ve just never heard of it on Princess, but it very well could be a new thing or varies from ship to ship. So just taking an informal poll and if you don’t have time, not a problem.

I know there would be a lot of happy people if Dr Pepper was available and if diet Dr Pepper was available they’d probably be happy too,but I just don’t think it is available on Princess.

totally agree it should be available onboard and yes, I know that you can bring on soda/pop onboard Princess.

Not really the reason why I’m trying to take a poll. Just want to know if it’s available .another cc poster said they got diet Dr Pepper on the Regal Princess this year, so I am just trying to see if it is really available on other Princess ships. So at this point looking for first hand knowledge for those that are onboard .

    Thanks.

  6. @latebuyer for the juice choices think of mixers. As you said juices available for free at breakfast hours only. So classic soda package juices would “ kick” in after that.

Someone mentioned diet Dr. Pepper ( never seen on Princess- maybe a new item?? Or varies ship to ship)

Here is a description of the classic soda package loosely. Some things may be incorrect, but you get the gist. And I do believe you can order the classic soda package once you get onboard -you could confirm with one of the bars of the offerings & are they going to be satisfactory to you ,before you actually purchase it. I believe the mocktails are $7.00 if purchased  with no package plus the added gratuity. So the mock tails are the strawberry on fire, sunshine daiquiri, Chocobanana and Key West cooler. I also think in the juice choices there’s grapefruit, tomato, and Clamato.IMG_9706.thumb.jpeg.c64bf38bcc0fd958967d3ee8eec56525.jpeg

  7. @RSF Cruiser when you look at your shore excursions for San Francisco does it give you an option to book for day two in the morning any shore excursions? That might be a telltale sign as well. I know you’re not scheduled according to Princess for being in San Francisco two days in a row ,but maybe the shore excursions give you an option to book for day one and two and that very well could be the itinerary change. If not??

    • Thanks 1
  8. @RSF Cruiser got it on the itinerary…. Well hopefully before you have to make final payment, you will know if Catalina is a for sure or not since you don’t want to spend two days in San Francisco. Hopefully that’ll give you enough time to cancel your cruise? Agree, why does Princess have to be so secretive about the itinerary? I know when you sign up for a cruise, the itinerary can change at Cruiseline discretion or the captains discretion, etc. But at this point, I would think they would know if they’re stopping in Catalina or San Francisco longer, but obviously time will tell.

How about looking at www.sfport.com, cruise schedule should be there for your particular cruise that you are booked for. Maybe that will be the insider information?

  9. @RSF CruiserNo insider information. Catalina Island shore excursions are probably not available to book yet because I believe October 2024 is the first time this season that Princess will call upon Catalina.
Are you wishing to book shore  excursions in Catalina? Or just curiosity on your part? You could always contact www.lovecatalina.com or www.visitcatalinaisland.com & see what’s available through them. It would probably be way cheaper than booking through the cruise line. Perhaps the cruise line already has taken all the available spots? It’s seems like you could just check the tour calendar on the island and see if that’s the case. There are bikes to rent ,golf carts to rent, Eco tours, etc.
Living in San Diego -have you not been to Catalina Island before? Agree with other posters, not a lot to do there, but I love Catalina Island. Been there many many times as I grew up in Southern California. Depending on your mobility -walking around, looking in the shops ,or going to the beach, is all very nice, but if that’s not your style then yes they will definitely have some sort of tours for the cruise ship passengers. Just remember this is a tender port ,so it takes a little time to get to and from the dock.

And I don’t know why other posters are telling you that they would prefer a different city to port in. I know that was not your question and obviously I’m sure you know that , if you didn’t like this itinerary, you could cancel .

So hopefully others will stick to the subject ,but …..
