  1. Are you and your travel buddy in the same cabin? I’m not sure if you’ve said. If she is in the same cabin, then yes she can go to the platinum lounge at embarkation with you. It all depends on what time that you are at the port and embark -a lot of times they are already, getting passengers onboard and you don’t even have to worry about the lounge area and honestly it’s just a waiting room/ area and if you’re there super early and have to wait then yes they start doing the platinums as one of the first passengers to go onboard ,maybe not the first, but one of. Once upon a time, I think they used to have some snacks and water and or drinks but not sure if that’s done anymore or not, and usually by the time that I pass by that lounge, everything was gone as far as food and drink as I could see, the tables were set up that had that kind of stuff on it. But here’s the information for platinum status. PLATINUM After completing 5 cruises or 50 cruise days 50% off MedallionNet® package • Early access to dining reservations • 10% off Lotus Spa® treatments • 10% discount in the Photo Gallery • Platinum and Elite Lounge • •
  2. Until September 14th , 2024 Cielo on Sky Princess may be different set up? new dining program is suppose to start September 15, 2024, so we’ll see what happens then. Anyone have dinner reservations late September booked on Sky ? Would you share which dining room is traditional & which is reservable every 20 minutes, thanks.
  3. Do you have a travel agent? They are usually a wealth of information. They also can go to “bat “for you if anything goes wrong or you need help with answering questions once you’ve booked and a lot lot of them give on board credit and other perks .I really recommend them and especially one that has been on a Princess cruise. I would try to find one of them in your city.( google one or ask a friend or family member or a church member etc., for a recommendation) They could answer for sure. Tell them that you definitely don’t want a bunk that comes out of the ceiling. Interior cabins definitely do not have a sofa bed option. The two lower beds can be pushed into a queen size bed or split apart into two twins and then one person on the sofa bed. Definitely not all balcony cabins have sofa beds.
  4. Yes, you have time. Hopefully in September 2024 you will be able to book dinner.
  5. @Thrak Here’s what I have for Regal. Regal Princess 2024? Or 2025? Symphony- Traditional 5 pm ( private or shared table) or 7:30pm( private table only) Allegro-reservable 5 pm - 8:40 pm,every 20 minute reservation time slots Concerto- walk in We’ll darn that you can’t book Regal P. Since it’s before your other cruise. I am assuming you’ve tried all the different ways that other passengers are obtaining the reservations? The app, a PC, your phone, a different phone, etc. So is your Regal cruise August 2025 and beyond? We’ll keep trying.
  6. Have you tried making dining reservations on the web version or your app? Might be too soon for summer 2025 cruise? Here is the information I have: Sky Princess This ship may or may not be following the below -it’s all over the place. October 2024 Soleil is reservable, every 20 minutes ( example of times booked by a CC member: 6:30 pm & 6:50pm) Estrella- reserve class collection- enter on port side November 2024 CC member said they booked dinning, not just looked on app Soleil- reservable ,private table available 5:30pm, 6:30 pm & 7:10 pm(this is what other passengers have booked ,not what’s currently available -subject to change based upon slots being filled ) Cielo- reservable(5:30pm-9:10 pm) private table available 6:30pm & 7:10pm May 2025 Soleil- Traditional 5 pm & 7:30 pm??? 7. Depending on what exercises your surgeon or orthopedic doctor has given you… Have you been cleared to do any exercises besides the ones they gave you? Will you be cleared from PT by the time you go on the cruise? I only say all this because I am retired medical. You wouldn’t want to do one of the classes and do something that you’re not meant to do. Certain exercises/ hip movements could dislodge your “ new” joint. Walking for recent hip replacement in my opinion is the best. Depending on how far you are out from your surgery, you should be able to your own exercises on the cruise , because you should be familiar with them by now. Like leg slides, ankle pumps, leg raises with bands, etc. Happy cruising & exercising.
  8. @bandp407 so glad to hear success stories, glad you kept trying.
  9. @YVRteacher my mom buys EFFY jewelry all the time on Princess and she has always received her purchase right then and there. The poster that said they had to go to a FedEx distribution center to pick it up….They did say when EFFY started on the ship ( Princess) ,so that was a long time ago ,not current.
  10. @Shaver John here is another option for exercise. This may not be your ship, but your ship may offer this. Just saw this in one of the recent Patters.
  11. What ship and what date are you cruising? you can try to contact your travel agent, if you have one or try the app on your computer, your phone or try the Web version on your laptop or PC. And there’s lots of steps before doing that. So just play around with it and see what you come up with. Lots of people been able to make dinner reservations. but if you’re trying to make reservations for a cruise/ voyage that is year from now, may or may not work .
  12. @5onadime my opinion on your room service tipping -is do what You Feel is the right thing for yourself and your traveling partner. Only you can decide on how much to tip or if you want to tip at all. I’m assuming when you say it’s part of your package you’ve taken plus or premier cruise fare package. ( ocean now- fee is included) So technically, already paid for the delivery. But of course, if you want to tip in cash then do so,the room service delivery crew/ staff will gladly accept any amount of tip that you give them. Is it necessary or customary? That is the million dollar question. But if it makes you feel better, then go for it.The End.
  13. @windsor26 try the web version to see if you have any luck. some passengers have had no luck on their android phone with the app, but then they go to their laptop or PC and they try the Web version and it works.
  14. @555 perhaps your choice on The Sun Princess is full for dining reservations, so that’s why Princess agent could not do anything for you, except refer you to onboard dining room manager?? Perhaps select a different DR or time ? Or keep checking the app or web version. Can’t make a reservation for a timeslot or dining room that’s not available. Of course onboard they may be able to work something out for you. Have you tried other dining rooms or other timeslots to see if you’re able to make a reservation? I know that this is not what you want, but are you able to do it. That might explain why you can’t get 5 PM, but of course I have no idea.
  15. @Cruise till you drop the private/ share table option should be at the end. Pick dining room first, then time, then table. Of course not all choices are available every time you log in. Might be full for your choice. Post (#746) a screen shot of what this looks like. Not sure if web or app.
  16. @Josie201 here’s what I show for Ruby. Ruby Princess-2024 & 2025 ( reservations open for 7-5-25 + now) Michelangelo is traditional at 5 PM ( shared or private table)and 7:20 pm (private table only)-as of July 14, 2024 cruise/ voyage in April 2025. This dining room is full? Not able to book for either seating. For a cruise/ voyage in October 2024 only 5 pm is available for traditional. Botticelli- reservable, every 20 minute time slots- able to get private table (6 pm , 7:00, & 7:20 pm) DaVinci- walk in ,no reservations so you have tried the web version with no luck? Post 789 has link. keep trying & yes times do open up.
  17. On The Sun Princess deck 7 is the reservable Horizons dining room. Deck 6 is Traditional
  18. Is this a martini at Crooners with coconut, pineapple, & midori? Might help others that have recently sailed or are currently sailing to know which bar maybe they can find it on the menu for you .Pretty sure I’ve had that drink and it’s delicious. I think any of the bars could make it if you asked and if you have a package I’m pretty sure it’s in the price range, perhaps about $10 . might be under the ocean now classic cocktail menu?
  19. @Retired-N-Happy Glad you persevered for April 2025 voyage. I keep posting, keep trying. Reservations can be made & are being made for dinner, easy? Some are having issues, some are not. August 2025 is too far away. Start trying soon for August 2025, only a few more weeks until August. Try at the beginning of August 2024 ,if can’t get dinner reservations at that time wait until a day after your actual embarkation date ,but in 2024 & see if that helps. Is this correct for your April 2025 voyage for what you have been able to book for dinner? Thanks. Enchanted Princess-2024 & 2025 Santorini-Traditional 5 pm ( shared & private tables) & 7:30 pm( private table,no shared) Amalfi dining room -reservable every 20 minutes from 5 pm-8:20pm Capri- walk in
  20. I see quite a few posts from passengers that were able to book their dinner reservations and they are a first time Princess cruiser, so therefore ,not elite, not platinum & they are not paid in full. I’ve also seen some that say they tried on their phone -the app and it says they have to be paid in full and then they go to the web version and they’re able to make dinner reservations. So who knows at this point what is really required?
  21. @LynnSD This is what I show for the Emerald Princess -2024 & 2025 Michelangelo is traditional 5 pm & 7:30pm Botticelli is reservable every 20 minute time slots DA Vinci walk-in If this is different on your app or your Web version, just let me know. This is what you should be able to book or reserve. Is this for October 2024 or October 2025? Keep trying ,lots of people have been able to make dinner reservations through the app ( someone also said make sure you’re fully checked in meaning you put in a credit card ,you’ve made sure your birthday is correct. You’ve gone through all the steps to be ocean ready )and or the Web version where you sign into your cruise Personalizer and put your booking number in. I do believe some have said once you get into the Web version or the app -select the dining room first, then the time ,and then private or shared table. Not sure if that sequence matters or not, but that’s what some have said.
  22. @Elles100 could you go to either venue or both and have the starter which is a salad and the dessert? I’m sure you could always ask Steamers or Planks if you could get something vegetarian as your main. Assuming you are dining with somebody that is not a vegetarian and they would eat the full menu? Are these the only two choices on the Caribbean princess to use your casual meal dining credits? Sorry I’m not familiar with what every ship has. I know on some ships they have pop-up restaurants, which are not in the same place all the time or shall I say do not have a permanent location. Does Carribean P have any of those? Welcome to Cruise critic & your first post
  23. This is an example from a sea day. Taken from a recent Patter. I would think the times vary from ship to ship and I would think that the $30 per class is somewhat accurate. I think most people that sign up and take these classes have the plus or premier package, not much information on what it costs if you don’t have the package. You are required to sign up for the classes, so I’m sure they put a cap on how many people can attend classes ,so probably not too crowded. As far as walking out, I don’t know why you would after you paid money to attend the fitness class, but of course you can always leave, but I wouldn’t expect your money back, but might be possible. 7 am to 7:30 AM club Pilates 9 am to 9:30 AM pure barre and 5 PM to 5:30 PM pure barre The gym is included in your cruise fare and you could work out on the machines. Also, I saw in Explorers lounge on a sea day Zumba from 9 AM to 9:45 AM and tai chi from 8 AM to 8:45 AM and those you just show up and are free as far as I know.
  24. What do you mean by set dining? Do you mean traditional? Do you mean reservable and is your cruise before September 15, 2024 or after? Are you at a shared table or a private table? All of this has different answers. I don’t think anyone knows what would happen exactly if you showed up a half an hour later than you are scheduled, too many variables in what you asked. But if you are at a shared table, it would be rude to the waiters and the people waiting for you to show up. It gets the servers and wait staff all off on flow & how they take orders, etc. If I understand-you are able make a reservation for two people in traditional dining at 5 PM and sit at a private table and you want to show up 20 minutes to a half an hour late ,I guess that would depend on talking to your server/ dining room manager on the first night and find out if that is acceptable . So you really want to dine at 5:20pm or 530pm at a private table, but you don’t see any reservations available in the dining room that you want? Am I understanding that correctly? Depending on when your cruise is, just keep trying to book your first choice ,openings may happen. There is a walk-in restaurant available after September 15, 2024, and you could just show up at 5:30 PM and ask for a private table. Yes you potentially may have to wait for a table depending on how busy the restaurant/dining room is. No one knows at this time or probably even nightly how long your wait would be. or do you want 5 pm traditional dining at a shared table and only a private table is available?
  25. My opinion is there is no derogatory judgement = meant to hurt others on the response back . when you say: you don’t like any of the new dining choices and yes, you are free to express your opinion ,but when you say that you’re just going to show up late and inconvenience others because you want to do what you want to do and you’re not getting your way -then that’s why it’s a hot button topic and hits a nerve. Derogatory - no. And yes, it potentially does inconvenience others ( wait staff, other passengers, etc) .we don’t know all the facts of your cruise that you’re upset with only what you posted. Way back in this thread ,I gave my opinion and said the same thing that others are saying still & now. If you don’t like this new dinner arrangement, you should perhaps cancel your cruise, go to another cruise line, or just embrace what Princess has done to hopefully enhance what passengers have been asking for. So many choices ( other vacation/ holiday options ) out there if you don’t like what’s happening. It is not changing back to “your “ dinning arrangement that you had previously on Princess , right now.
