  1. Thanks for coming back to explain more, terrible either way that they are not being satisfied or accommodated properly. I Agree ,sorry does not go far on a vacation in a smallish cabin.
  2. We’ll I guess op/ author has not been back to explain outcome. I’m not even sure they were on board ,just they had Family on board. Either way hope the family got everything solved . i have never had Princess specifically tell passengers in literature or otherwise say if you have a balcony cabin you must keep the balcony door closed. ( it would be posted on slider or in cabin)There are plenty of us that like to keep our balcony door open and listen to the ocean as we sail. Some hotel rooms, once you open the sliding door the air conditioning goes off ,don’t think this happens on any Princess ship ,but I could be wrong about that. So if this was truly happening (I.e. other cabins will be affective temperature wise if your cabin slider is open)Princess would advise us to keep cabin balcony door closed, just like no smoking in your cabin is definitely explained.
  3. No there would not be a dedicated hotel shuttle from LAX airport to your San Pedro hotel. ( not close enough) And $60 Uber or Lyft is not a bad price ,it does fluctuate depending on the time of day and or the day of the week. I do believe the Princess transfer bus that you are signed up for from the ship back to the airport is $29 a person .I would skip all the Princess transfer buses and just take Uber or Lyft or some sort of van shuttle service , so Much easier in my opinion. You get much more personal service than waiting for a whole bus to load up and drop everybody off at each terminal at LAX.
  4. @monakayk I do not have first hand experience at this ,but if I’m understanding you ... you want to disembark in San Francisco collect your luggage in the luggage area and then you want Princess to send your luggage on a transfer bus without you ( Who would collect your luggage once it’s at the airport? )and you want to walk around Fishermans wharf and then catch the transfer bus to the airport? I don’t think Princess works that way ,but I could definitely be wrong . Usually when you sign up for the Princess transfer bus after you disembark the ship you and your luggage meet at a specific time( think before 10 am) and you hop on the bus and go to the airport with your luggage under the bus and then you get off at your designated terminal and check your own luggage in . Some cities you can get off the ship and take a sightseeing tour and then they’ll drop you off at the airport, if you have a late afternoon/night flight and your luggage stays under the bus while you tour around .( i.e. Ft Lauderdale) Maybe there’s a place in San Francisco to store your luggage? I have no idea on that one . I’ve never seen one but I wasn’t looking for one either . You also might want to check the cruise critic West Coast departure forum, somebody might have an answer for you . Maybe there’s a hotel close by and you could check with the porters and leave your luggage there? Again might be a safety issue ,don’t know. But you could say you just checked out of your room and you’d like to store your luggage before you go to the airport -might work ??
  5. Are there any current Princess ships going out from San Pedro at this time of year? I think I see a cruise that leaves June 17 and June 24 ,perhaps somebody will post then? Not sure if any have left since this labor issue has started??
  6. If you’re platinum and above a 50% discount on the Internet. They are packages now ,there’s no minutes ,it’s unlimited for the duration of your cruise. Although I do believe you can purchase one day (24 hr block of time)and get a 50% discount as well . Everything on most cruise lines are different in 14 years time. One difference on Princess is the Internet. Another is no set dinner time( i.e. traditional dining time) To the OP @karinad-I know you said that you were done because of some other remarks, but if you ask a specific question of what has changed you might get a better answer. I agree with another poster -it’s a tall order to ask what has changed in 14 years because it’s quite a bit .
  7. Usually the buffet. Some evenings in the Platinum,Elite, & Suite Lounge. If op doesn’t answer, this is where I have seen it.
  8. @phabricWell I hope you find an excursion to your liking in that port and or you get refunded back to your credit card the amount you paid.
  9. @phabric did you try to book yourself again for that same excursion that is not showing up in your account? Or is the shore excursion totally gone from that port? are any shore excursions showing available to book for the particular port?
  10. You may also take on your own flowers. You just may not take them off after the cruise is over ,although I don’t know who would want to ,they pretty much would be “ spent” after a seven day or 10 day cruise
  11. I think this is correct: one device at a time wi- fi is $15.00 per day. Four devices is $40. Per day . Platinum and elite will receive 50% off of that price . yes, I believe cost went up January 2023 If you only need wi-fi for 1 day, it might be $20.00 for 24 hr period.( maybe platinum or elite discount, inquire at internet desk)
  12. @flutprop please do come back and tell us what happens at the dock/ pier for you ,son, & his gf. It may help someone to know in the future.
  13. Unfortunately members on cc thoughts really don’t matter with the dress code/ suggestion for Princess. The Princess Patter now called Princess Event listing( aka newsletter) read it ,when onboard,it will tell you the dress for the evening. A lot of Live posters post the Patter ahead of time. You could look for your particular ship. Probably a dress shirt and dress pants will be fine on formal nights in any of the main dining rooms, but take a suit jacket, just in case. If you have booked the specialty restaurant on formal nights then smart casual is fine dress any night there. Again only the crew in charge in the dining room can tell you otherwise and even then..... Does not matter the destination. All the same for formal nights. Topic is a hot one!
  14. This is my laundry/dry cleaning form ,so I expect 2023 prices to be different than this ,but I would say for a suit jacket under $10 for current prices. Don’t know if UK cruises they charge in US dollars ,but at least you have an option if you couldn’t get your suit jacket cleaned already .
  15. This is not my photo ( sorry it might be fuzzy )and the price may be different than what’s on the Sky Princess, but they do indeed have laundry and dry cleaning that you can send out. I would expect if you turn in your jacket the first day of the cruise you might have it back in two days. I’m assuming you’re not elite otherwise you would know about the complimentary dry cleaning .
  16. This is not my photo but I believe this Is the good spirits bar on the sky princess. Or is this Bellini’s??
  17. I think the answer is maybe. Are they traveling in the same cabin as you or a different cabin? If the same cabin not a problem most likely ,but if a different cabin may be . I think try it and let us know on here how it works for you
  18. Check the east coast departures forum as well. i’ve seen Somewhere on cc ,but where... a shuttle between parking garages,so probably feasible. Also if you tell us between what two terminals ,others may be able to answer more accurately
  19. @donaldsc- yes I was copying and pasting and that’s the size of the font and I was trying to make it a little smaller ,but that’s what it came out ....

  22. Yes, you may carry luggage on yourself as long as it fits through X-ray scanner at Seattle port and if security doesn’t tell you otherwise. Only you can decide the pros and cons.
  23. To op/ author: Princess Cruise-Passengers under the age of 21 years must travel in a stateroom with a Passenger 21 years or older who shall assume responsibility for their care during the cruise. For family groups booking multiple staterooms, the minimum age for each stateroom is 16 years of age, provided they are traveling with a parent or legal guardian. We are unable to accept group reservations for student or youth groups that do not conform to our minimum age requirements. Each passenger agrees and warrants that he/she will supervise any passenger in his/her care at all times to ensure all policies, along with all other rules of the Carrier and ship, are strictly adhered to by all Passengers under their supervision. I think you would have to book two cabins -one adult and one child in each cabin ( probably?? You can switch sleeping arrangements and cabins when you get on board) ,but for the packages I don’t think you can book any other way .If you want plus package you would have to do it for both people in the cabin -the one adult and one child and the child would get soda package and the adult would get alcohol package. So you would pay for all 4 of you because that’s how you book the cabin. How about just a standard package and then add what you want , i.e. wi fi,drinks as you go?? You ( all of you)would need to have lots of sea days and consume a large amount of soda & alcohol to make plus worth the package, in my opinion. Only you can figure that out. Someone else chime in if different than this
  24. Yes, I definitely remember that in San Pedro ,you could go aboard have a little party and then you had to be off by a certain time and then you could throw streamers from the terminal area to the ship .
