  1. I kept hearing how I was going to LOVE Celebrity! I found it nice enough but I didn't love it any more than Princess. Every night we went to dinner we had to wait and were given a beeper so we could go and wait and have a drink. The Elite lounge free cocktails were nice but 1 or 2 is all you can get in the time allotted. Drink packages eliminated the need for this. I'm trying to recall what was better or even equal to Princess? To be fair I have only been on one Celebrity cruise....but have not been enticed to try them again. Princess seems to have nicer itineraries and more bang for the buck.
  2. Because of the shower curtains? Oh and the smoke...ok. What are the perks on Celebrity beyond what Princess offers besides the free drinks at the happy hour which is included in the Plus or Premier package.
  3. Not necessarily...you can reach Elite without having to take 12 cruises if you sail on longer cruises and use days instead of sailings. Once you get to be Elite you have free laundry as much as you want....no limit.
  4. You can choose from the regular wine list...no problem. DH drank quite a bit of the Silverado and though I am not usually a rose drinker, I got hooked on Whispering Angel which I found to be quite nice. For our anniversary in June we will carry on a bottle of Caymus cab from home.
  5. I didn't like most of the ones I tried on the Plus Package list...but there was a red blend that was not bad. It's not that we can't find a good wine from the Princess Wine List, but yes, there is a different wine list for the Plus package but of course it does not preclude one from choosing from the regular wine list.
  6. If I can find it I would like to try the the one aged in rum barrels....that sounds interesting to me. Also we have found a nice red wine called Cooper and Thief that is aged for 3 months in Bourbon barrels. (not on the ship however)
  7. They do have a dedicated wine list for Plus and that will most likely be the one they show you when they know you have it. But you just ask for the regular wine list and tell them you will pay the difference if you want to choose a higher priced wine.
  8. The crazy big desserts are included with the Plus package too....two per day per person!
  9. There are many varieties of 19 Crimes....all seem to be below $20US with the priciest the Snoop Dog variety. Publix are in Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
  10. I will have to keep an eye out for the BOGO..
  11. Yes we do. But lots of others that we enjoy too.
  12. They do? Never got that impression of a linkage to Italian food, wine and culture? Perhaps dining in Sabatini's? Hmmm..
  13. I think the beds are VERY comfortable! The only one better is ours at home!
  14. From what I understand if you put on the hang tag to order breakfast there is no additional charge. If you order by phone or on the app and you don't at least have the Plus package. you pay a "delivery fee". If this is incorrect please inform.
  15. If one drinks a nice red wine does that make one a Snooty red wine drinker? Asking for a friend. 🤷‍♀️
  16. Yes, you may bring additional bottles. At check-in there may be a table for you to show your wine and pay the corkage fee which they will give you a receipt for. Sometime the table is not set up yet if you check in early. In that case you will be charged the corkage fee when/if you bring a bottle to the dining room.
  17. The Red Blend on the Plus menu is not bad, but you can order any wine you want and pay the difference above the $15 allowance.
  18. We started taking insurance when our parents got old and infirm. Now we're the old guys so we still purchase the insurance.
  19. This would keep me up at night!! LOL! When our family 0f 7 in 4 cabins sailed to Alaska, one of the members of our party had never cruised before...so I tried to help him with various things. But I found the best way was first to have his Princess sign in and password so I could check in as him and monitor what needed to be done. The other was, we all got together to plan flights, pre-cruise hotel, excursions (who wanted to do what with whom), Specialty dining: so we could all dine together and of course to choose dining room and times for dinner. Worked out well for all and had we not done that, I would have shown up for the cruise with "raccoon eyes" from lack of sleep!
