  1. Noro lasts about 2-3 days. Food poisoning maybe a day. Both come about from contaminated food.
  2. I haven't had it but DH got it, we believe from the market in Tahiti (just one more reason we are not thrilled with Tahiti.) Once he got it, it seems others did too...perhaps from the market also or one of the many food trucks on the pier. There didn't seem to be a problem onboard until after Tahiti....so I blame that. Fortunately it only lasts a few days but UGH! We actually were delayed disembarking and had to wait for the CDC to come on and inspect.
  3. We washed our hands and used the sanitizer...why wouldn't we? Very available. We didn't wear masks however. And we never put our silverware on the table. We asked each time for them to wipe down the table for us before we sat. The only indicator we saw that MAY have pointed to illness was that our neighbors on the ship, from our 1st day, had food trays in front of their door several times a day for several days. I think they may have already been on the ship for the previous 10 day sailing. After about 5-6 days, the trays disappeared and I saw the room steward talking to them. They were wearing masks and stayed in the cabin, but we kinda figured they had been sick. We didn't ask the steward...figured it wasn't our business and not sure he would have told us anyway.
  4. It was the fist time I played in a long time. i won but had to share with one other person. I won $87 I think. LOL
  5. You can do both with the pack they sell.
  6. I don't have a picture, but I just paid $68 for tablet. It came with a four game paper pack. There is some "lucky number" option that is $5 extra.
  7. Yes. You have to own 100 shares of CCL stock to qualify for the credit, which you can do prior to cruising. The OBC amount is based on how many days the sailing has. It varies from $50 to $250. It's a nice little perk.
  8. I think it depends on which ship you are on....although that probably shouldn't matter. We just got off the Enchanted Princess and the specialty restaurants were spot on. Sabatini's has a new menu and we thought the food and service was wonderful. We went to Crown Grill twice..the second time even a little better than the first. Bistro Sur la Mar was lovely and different...again, the service was great! Heck! Even the buffet was better than on previous sailings...great variety and everything was fresh and looked appetizing...especially the fruit section and the desserts. (I usually hate buffets but not this time). The MDR was fine...not great, not terrible. With all of that said, we don't cruise for the food. If it's acceptable, we're ok with it and can find something we like at each venue.
  9. I agree that the MDR food is not as varied or as tasty as it was the before. The Specialty restaurants are still really good and the buffet on our recent sailing was pretty great....and I usually hate buffets. We have done cruises where we never stepped foot in the buffet but this time we went there every day for either breakfast or lunch. They had every kind of food that you could imagine and for most part very good! Lots of fresh fruit and my favorite bagel and lox each day for breakfast. Even when the food is just ok or sub par that is not an influence when we consider booking our next cruise. The beautiful ships, service, staff, cabin stewards, cruise director staff, musicians, etc are all great! That's what we care about most! (Of course experiences differ by ship...your experience may be different)
  10. Agree, which is why we have been sailing almost exclusively on Princess in recent years. We love their itineraries, the ships, the service, etc. We feel the food quality in the MDR has gone down a little so we choose to eat in the specialty restaurants at least 3-4 nights per 7 day cruise. But I can't say the food is awful in the MDR. We are thinking of sailing on Celebrity (I have once and DH, never) but after reading a lot of these negatives, I'm not sure.
  11. For the last several years we have been Princess cruisers and we really have no complaints about the food that would make us jump ship. But go visit the Princess CC page and you will see all the same complaints about the food that you see here.
  12. Who are you cruising with now and do you feel you made the right decision?
  13. Yes, that is what I am referring to. Looking for deals/discounts and/or just want to peruse the various itineraries.
  14. Got that. But it doesn't state that I am elite only that I am working toward it. I will call them to just to make sure.
  15. I would have thought so too but when I look at my status it tells me I have X number of points to earn to get to Elite? So it doesn't seem so. Maybe if I book another cruise? Which leads me to another question...what if I book a "themed cruise" such as a jazz or comedy cruise...does the match still apply? Sorry for all the questions...just trying to get back into the loop.
  16. On a previous Celebrity cruise I was able to "match" my Royal Caribbean Diamond status to get Elite on Celebrity. I see that that is still a thing but don't see on the site where I can actually do it. It's been awhile since I sailed with them so not really familiar with how it works and whether there are perks to booking with a higher status?Do I need to call them to accomplish this?
  17. So weird. They have never in my experience had a very good website but now I think it's just silly that as a previous customer with 5+ sailings that you can't check your stats or just sign in to browse. Oh well.
  18. I have sailed on Cunard several times but wanted to look up my cruise history and possibly book a cruise but I can't figure out how to sign in with out having a booking number. Any help?
  19. Were there others than the ones above?
  20. The bid is per person, do you think that's why it was doubled? Also you have to pay for the increase in the insurance premium if you purchased it
