+1 We have been watching coverage all morning. Reminds me of the collapse of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in 1980. The Key Bridge was built about 3 years prior to the Sunshine collapse. Several recommendations came out after that ship impact collapse, related to pier protection and warning systems. No doubt that they will be working to clear the main channel as soon as rescue and recovery operations are complete.

The one in my son’s Tesla X is huge. Think of a computer monitor in a vertical orientation. I like how his can have rear traffic view in one section, plus navigation and other functions in split screens below.

Trade in value is still pretty good. It was in the range I expected, for the age, miles, and the added costs I knew it would take for inspection. It has all the same safety features as our Highlander, plus a few more. I like the Apple car play and that big display screen. I think Susan will like that for her trip next month.

Last weekend, Susan and I went new car shopping. More cars on the lots, and some dealers were actually having some deals again. We were going to replace our 13 RAV4 with a 24 RAV4. We found a dealer that had 4 of the Premiums on the lot, but only two of which we would consider. A dark gray, or a black one, both with black interiors. So, we get to the dealer, and they try to find the gray one. No one could find it, and they didn’t know where it was. We drove the black one, but told the dealer it was really at the bottom of my color list, because they are so hard to keep clean. Of course, then Susan mentions she would really like a white one better than the gray they couldn’t find. So they did some searching, and found a white one with the same package and options on another dealer’s lot. They got that one for us, and we picked it up yesterday. I called our insurance company to let them know we replaced that vehicle. I was shocked when they gave us the new insurance numbers. Buying that new vehicle, and it went down by $3. If I keep saving money like that, I may be able to book that Sea Dog cruise. 😂

Our granddaughter won Artist of the Month award for this. I think she did pretty good for a third grader. Now I have to have her make a new one for me. She was doing some amusing interpretations of famous paintings in her sketchbook, when we had her out to dinner. Having snails appear as the Mona Lisa, the Scream, The last supper, American Gothic, and, of course, Dogs playing poker.

Do you know what year those pictures are from? Looks like maybe late 80’s to mid 90’s

I headed down a couple different rabbit holes this morning. Someone resurrected a thread about the SS Norway from four years ago. I didn’t realize I was still following that one. I had posted a few times on the Norway thread, and included some old photos from 1980. Of course, four years ago, we were about 6 days in on the 15 days to slow the spread. We were all at home, wondering what to do to pass the two weeks at home. Of course, that thread led me to the second rabbit hole, when I saw that I had linked Tim’s Live from the Song of Norway thread. That is so funny, even today. I recognized many familiar posters in that thread, when I read it again today. It is disappointing that some of the picture links at the end appear to be broken.

I definitely need to cut back on my visits to Starbucks. Always do a mobile order and pick up at the drive thru. This morning, when I pulled up to the speaker, all they said was “Good morning Mark. We have it ready for you, pull on up.” Susan never realized they have a camera in their speaker, until I pointed it out a few months ago.

If you close those bifold doors, does that let the AC work with the outer window down? Just curious if you could sit out there with the window down, and those doors closed so it would be somewhat like a traditional balcony. Don’t think that bubble is bursting just yet. That savings is spread across three OV balconies (2-2 person ones and 1-3 person one). Still gets it into a little more reasonable range for a 3 day sailing.

Today is International Day of Happiness. That was also the look on my face when I saw a price drop for our Utopia cruise this summer. Called and saved almost $1,800. So, yes, that was my happiness for the day. Told Susan that is almost enough for another cruise for the two of us.

Go to their deck plans and click the connecting cabin checkbox. It will highlight the connecting cabins. You can click on the cabin and see which one it connects to. They really should have symbols to make it more apparent.

We are on the first sailing in January, 2025.

Thanks for those pictures. We have the same cabin, only on deck 11, port side. I know I am going to try to have them bring us different chairs for the balcony, or at least some footstools. Would be interested if anyone has success at getting those changed out.

It is the date of the spring equinox, so it is March 19 where we live. I always thought it was the 21st too, but today was on my calendar. And, in honor of the first day of spring, DQ has free ice cream cones today

Hope everyone has a great first day of spring. It is 26° here, and it doesn’t look like spring. Just booked our flights to San Francisco and back, so we can pick up our grandson for the summer. Now, less than three months until the start of Summer of Fun 4.0.

A green zombie, to go with my bangers and mash for lunch today. Rain and overcast over the lake where we ate today. Now I have moved on to some green rum punch tonight. Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone.
