  1. Unless you have one like our California grandson. Never a tear from him when we have had him for the entire summers. But I bet if we kept the two grandkids that live here for an extended period, there would be tears involved, Even though we see them every day, they would miss their mom and dad.
  2. I think the beard looks great on him, Greg. (Says the man who has had a beard for 50 years). I wish mine was that color, instead of white.😁 In fact, you all look great.
  3. I guess that would be me at this point. I had a lot of information that had already been researched, but I undertook a project during the pandemic, to condense seven generations into a book, complete with photos and narrative of their lives. Needless to say, my goal of completing the book by last Christmas didn’t happen, so I am shooting for next Christmas now. My only stumbling block has been getting further back than Susan’s one grandfather. He was a orphan, and records have been hard to come by. Everything else in my book is complete and ready for the printers.
  4. She is past the halfway point in her series of treatments. The doctor says her response to the treatments are right where they expect them to be, but they don’t have any additional imaging scheduled until near, or at the end of her treatment. Oh, and Dani, great picture of the boys. I hope you get to have more extended stays with them. Nothing like spending time with the grandkids. They grow up way too fast.
  5. Hope all goes well with your appointment tomorrow, Graham. We had 39° F and rain this morning. My Monday will be spent as every Monday, getting my daughter to and from her cancer treatment appointments. -4°C is about 25°F. Still cold.
  6. We are making cookies with them tonight. This is the “before baking” shape. If they morph into some other shape, I may not be able to show their finished look. 😉
  7. It will be interesting to see where the elf appears each day. Dr. says she has strep, but not a highly contagious version. She was tested for flu, Covid, and RSV also. Today was a Christmas luncheon for my old company. Glad to see the new owners are continuing the tradition. I had to eat light, since we are meeting friends for dinner tonight. Chicken Alfredo for lunch.
  8. Starting off our frosty morning, watching a sick granddaughter. It appears the Elf escaped from the light, and landed in a cup of cocoa this morning.
  9. “Linda” sounds exactly like one of our neighbors. A constant complainer that everyone tries to avoid. Hmm, haven’t seen her around. Maybe she is cruising. 🤣
  10. Our granddaughter had to FaceTime us early this morning, because this showed up. I never saw anyone so excited to have something watching over them to make sure they were good. 🤣🤣 She even goes to the Santa cam and talks to it every day. Guess she isn’t taking any chances.
  11. I, for one, would like to see the video. I could probably pull off the Santa look this year, and with the real deal beard. Grandkids wanted me to let my beard grow for a Santa look this Christmas, so I have let it grow for the last few months. Since my beard started turning grey at 30, it has been pure white for many years. After a few months growth, it is a full, white beard. I would have posted a picture, but dang, it makes me look old. 🤣🤣
  12. l would make sure you had it tethered to you, so you don’t drop it in the water. I filmed with an iPhone, in a waterproof case, with a lanyard around my neck. It surprised me how slow it seems, until you hit the springs at the bottom.
  13. Ok, you got me following along. We were supposed to do this same itinerary on Harmony next month, but that was one of the five we had to cancel, and you know why. So with a tear in my eye, I will be helping our technology challenged friends check into that cruise, tomorrow night. (I know, they are late and will probably get a boarding time just before sail away) We were looking into renting a 4x4 in Aruba, instead of doing Eagle Beach again, because there is more to explore there. Have a great cruise, and get some good flow rider time in.
  14. Do they have their soot problem fixed. When we were on last year, this area of the track and loungers, as well as us, got coated with black speckles. It looks pretty clean in your photo.
  15. @HBE4, I was so sorry to read this. May your wife rest in peace. This thread has so many kind and caring posters, and I am so glad that Dani started it and we can all come here and share parts of our lives. Susan and I send our condolences.
  16. It was definitely some pretty awesome driving skill. I can imagine the amount of practice that needs to go into some of those “near misses” I remember taking my kids to the mall parking lot, on early Sunday mornings in the winter. It was the best place for them to learn how those big, rear drive, cars handled in snow and ice. Not that I encouraged doing donuts, but that seemed like a natural progression, after they learned how to put cars into and pull them out of skids.
