  1. Thank you @pingpong1 for letting us know. Would anyone have time to explain to me how pricing changes work at RSSC? I know some cruise lines let you re price (effectively I guess cancel and rebook) your reservation if there is a price drop and some cruise lines don't. And some cruise lines allow re pricing but only for US/CA customers and not for EU/UK customers as the terms and conditions of the bookings can be different. I booked during last December a longer RSSC cruise (3 suites) and checked that the prices are now quite much lower for that cruise than when I booked. If it makes any difference we are booked through RSSC EU office and our price includes only the cruise, not flights. Cancellation of the reservation is possible for us with a 100e/pp penalty as well is change of the cruise to another one. I am now wondering if there is any point to try to call and get a re pricing for our booking. Of course I could just call them but not really wanting to make me sound cheap if it is a known fact that this is not possible with RSSC ☺️ If this is not possible at RSSC it is completely fine. I am able to make lemonade out of lemons in this situation by the fact that we got exactly those suites that we wanted when we booked and had we waited until today perhaps those three suites side-by-side at the exact location that we wanted would not have been available anymore. So I can find peace and happiness in my mind in this fact alone. However it would feel stupid if I just expected "oh well, nothing that I can do about it" and then would find out later that there would have been a possibility to re price the bookings ☺️ Edit: Ah, I will answer to myself but won't delete this post if someone wonders about the same. I checked the promotion details and it clearly states that it applies to new bookings only. So I guess no way to get this promotion. In any case I will be happy that I have a lovely RSSC cruise booked even though it is around 4000€/suite more expensive than I could have gotten now. If any of you seasoned RSSC cruisers disagree with my understanding feel free to correct me if you think a cancellation and rebooking could be done 🙂
  2. For this I would suggest chatting or calling NCL. They can book dining (and excursions etc) very easily for you 😊 Though I am sorry to hear of your IT system problems 😔
  3. They will change the itinerary only on those cruises where in Puerto Plata the Amber Cove port has already two Carnival Corp ships the day that NCL is supposed to be there too and hence an NCL ship cannot dock there (Amber Cove has space only for two ships and as it is a Carnival Corp built port Carnival Corp ships always have first grabs there). So what you need to check is how many other ships are at Puerto Plata/Amber Cove port on the day when you are supposed to be there. 0-1 = you’ll most likely go to Amber Cove/Puerto Plata. 2 = you will go somewhere else. Sometimes the substitute is a sea day, sometimes Nassau (the next day), sometimes GSC. The above is valid for NCL’s big ships. It seems Sky (and recently also Dawn) do go to Puerto Plata using Taino Bay port.
  4. The problem for most is that they don’t want to eat 1-1-1-1. They want to eat for example 2-0-1-1 or 0-2-1-0 or whatever. So it’s not about eating more - it’s about being able to choose what you want to eat. My dear father for example never eats dessert and rarely an appetizer at a restaurant. He however always, and I mean always, wants to eat a soup and a salad at a restaurant. This is the main gripe for people I suspect. They want to decide what to include. NCL would have been wiser to say ”your meal includes 4 courses (1 main max) + sides” and then each pax could choose which four those are.
  5. It’s even worse than you think. This below seems to be the newest Cagney’s menu. Not able to eat fish or seafood? Too bad, no appetizer for you then and with the 1-1-1-1 you cannot take a soup and salad instead of the 1-1-1-1 rule’s appetizer + soup or salad.
  6. Dear god, that worked! Thank you so so much @ChiefMateJRK! 😍 I just registered again using my latitudes number and voila, I am in and my email address is now my username. This shows once again the power of cruisecritic 🤩 And @MagnoliaBlossom I did chat (and phone) with NCL on Friday and this problem began for me on Saturday so your message is spot on too 🙏 Also @Buckett I guess this change is what you were told when you called NCL but my NCL reps 1) didn’t mention this to me (you had a better one than me 😅) and 2) something went wrong at NCL IT as my username was not automatically changed to be my email address (I tried logging in with that too several times yesterday but it didnt work, only after registering again it started to work). Thank you for sharing your insights 🙏
  7. Thanks! So they have definitely changed something related to the sign in but unfortunately at the same time screwed up some of our accounts and we cannot get in at all. Not with our email addresses or the usernames we have had. I guess it can be as easy thing as vlookup problem. For every persons account change the current username to be the email address of that person…and well things didn’t go as planned and some username fields became empty. Old username deleted but email address not vlookup’d into that field.
  8. Wow I guess I need to do that too if this situation doesn’t resolve soon. Thanks ChiefMateJRK! This is exactly my situation! There is no point or help in resetting the pw when there isn’t a username 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣 Could you use the same email address or did you need to use another one? I guess another one but just making sure 😊
  9. I would definitely do this if you absolutely want to tour the city too. Just use your $50 towards the snorkeling excursion and you won’t lose anything moneywise.
  10. No this is definitely not doable. You need to be at the snorkel excursion meeting point in minimum 30 mins before that excursion starts so already at 8:30.
  11. I personally would not do this if they are truly almost back to back. You usually need to be at the meeting point for an excursion in minimum 30mins before the excursion starts. The only way I would feel comfortable doing this is if the first excursion was for example like 9:30-11 and the second one would start only after 1 or preferably 2.
  12. Thank you laydergayle for this info. It didn’t at least yet solve my problem but I will try this again tomorrow if it would work. There are though similarities in our situations as I also have been using a username (not my email address) and password. So I wonder if NCL has meant to get rid of old usernames and replace them with email addresses but for some reason this change that they have made has left the username field completely blank for some. I can see that there is currently no username associated on my account in two ways: 1. I happen to be signed in via one web browser and when I go to my account details my username shows as blank. Other details show like they should (name, contact details etc). 2. I thought that ok perhaps I have forgotten my password (although I know I haven’t) so I ordered a change password link which is supposed to show my username…well guess what… 🙄 So their system was able to locate my account by my email address and full name and thus send me the change password link but as my account isn’t associated currently with any username changing the password does no good… 🤦🏼‍♀️
  13. Unfortunately you are reading it wrong. The plus package includes unlimited wifi. If you want unlimited wifi with streaming (so you want to further upgrade from unlimited to unlimited streaming) you will need to call them and there is an extra price for that. The free at sea wifi includes 75mins of wifi. Upgrading to free at sea plus gives you unlimited wifi but without streaming. If you want to upgrade to premium unlimited with wifi you need to call and pay even more.
  14. Op this is the main gripe and problem regarding Epic - there really are not great views of the sea and in general you feel very disconnected from the sea while on the ship (unless you are on your balcony). The ship - for some reason - was designed in a way that makes it very enclosed. Like Keith mentioned the views are rather limited. There is only one ship designed like the Epic. They quickly realized their mistake. When people are taking a cruise they usually want to be able to feel like being on a ship, see the ocean, hear the ocean, ”feel” the ocean.
  15. Also you can get with the upgraded package freshly squeezed oj if that is something that you like. And sparkling water by the bottle (Pellegrino) instead of a glass of random fountain soda type of club soda.
  16. Ok I don't actually like this but I am sooooo relieved this is happening to someone else too 🥰 Perhaps they are then having a wider problem on the logging in etc. I guess we cannot do more than wait. Just kind of a spooky thing to think what if the cruise was just about to start or we would be exactly 21 days out and couldn't do any check in or other stuff.
  17. Hi guys and girls, anyone else currently experiencing problems with the NCL app/signing into MyNCL (even on NCL website)? For a couple of days the NCL app has seemed strange: when I have opened it, it has opened up normally but has always said "we cannot find your cruise" and I have had to manually find the cruise by entering the cruise details (ship, sail date, reservation number). This has happened repeatedly. Then suddenly a couple of hours ago the app just logged out on its own and when I try to log in it says my username or password is wrong. Well I happen to know very well what both my password and username are so this isn't the real problem. I happened to have the NCL website open and I am signed in there so I went to my account details. Well strangely my account doesn't show any username. Not sure if that it the problem but in any case I cannot sign in to the app (or to MyNCL on the web using a different browser) so somethings wrong. Should reserve shorex so this is annoying. Anyone else with the same problem currently?
  18. Oh how it would be nice if the ncl shoreside staff would know what they are talking about but no… Op just book a table for 2 for all of the restaurants that you want. Thats how it’s done. And no, you will not be charged two vouchers per visit, just one.
  19. There has been a change starting 1/1. Unfortunately. Only one app, one soup or salad, one main and one dessert from 1/1 onwards. Birdtravels was I guess the first CC’er who noticed this yesterday. There is a thread here about the matter: https://boards.cruisecritic.co.uk/topic/2903981-specialty-dining-1-1-1/ Edit: seems the thread was from Wednesday already 😊 https://www.ncl.com/fr/en/specialty-dining-package/faq
  20. No need to link anything on NCL. Regardless of how many people you book the restaurant for the system will consider it as only one credit used by you and your wife. When you go to the restaurant onboard they will ask how you pay and then your friends will show them their keycard and say they want to use their package for their payment.
  21. You need to always book the fixed price restaurants first and only then a la carte. The booking system only understand that you have a 3 meal package. It doesn’t understand you have the platinum dinners on top of those 3 meals even though you have them. So after you booked 3 first dinners the system thinks you have used all free dinners already. There wouldn’t be a problem if the fixed priced restaurant (restaurant reservation nbr 5) had been reserved as part of reservations 1-3 and then only a la carte restaurants for reservations 4-5 as a la carte is never paid in advance. Best thing that you can do now is contact NCL and cancel the reservations you already made and then reserve once again using a different order of reservation (fixed priced restaurants first). You will though be credited back once onboard when you show them the platinum voucher if you want to do it that way and not start cancelling and re-booking now.
  22. Interesting. I quite often want two apps, main and dessert so no soup or salad. Or at Le Bistro I don’t like the apps but want soup, salad, main and dessert. Will be interesting to see how they react to situations like this. Sailing in beginning of spring. I wonder how many changes FDR will still do before that 🤣 Btw it’s really sad to see the constant penny pinching going on at NCL. Yes NCLH is in financial trouble (like the rest of the cruiselines) but this much trouble that they need to constantly do small penny pinching changes here and there…for our convenience only, of course 🤦🏼‍♀️ I am sure this won’t bother the newer NCL cruisers but as a long time NCL cruiser this might very well be my last NCL cruise (or perhaps any cruise) for several years. Seeing constant cuts in services and penny pinching leaves a very bad taste into my mouth.
  23. The new menus can be found at least on the NCL app if you have a cruise booked. Here is the first page of Le Bistro (btw there is still the lamb shank dish, it just doesn’t fit to this page).
  24. I read from another site that the cleaning gives a period of 30 days validity after which it needs to be done again if the ship wants to continue to sail on the area in question.
