  1. No this is definitely not doable. You need to be at the snorkel excursion meeting point in minimum 30 mins before that excursion starts so already at 8:30.
  2. I personally would not do this if they are truly almost back to back. You usually need to be at the meeting point for an excursion in minimum 30mins before the excursion starts. The only way I would feel comfortable doing this is if the first excursion was for example like 9:30-11 and the second one would start only after 1 or preferably 2.
  3. Thank you laydergayle for this info. It didnā€™t at least yet solve my problem but I will try this again tomorrow if it would work. There are though similarities in our situations as I also have been using a username (not my email address) and password. So I wonder if NCL has meant to get rid of old usernames and replace them with email addresses but for some reason this change that they have made has left the username field completely blank for some. I can see that there is currently no username associated on my account in two ways: 1. I happen to be signed in via one web browser and when I go to my account details my username shows as blank. Other details show like they should (name, contact details etc). 2. I thought that ok perhaps I have forgotten my password (although I know I havenā€™t) so I ordered a change password link which is supposed to show my usernameā€¦well guess whatā€¦ šŸ™„ So their system was able to locate my account by my email address and full name and thus send me the change password link but as my account isnā€™t associated currently with any username changing the password does no goodā€¦ šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø
  4. Unfortunately you are reading it wrong. The plus package includes unlimited wifi. If you want unlimited wifi with streaming (so you want to further upgrade from unlimited to unlimited streaming) you will need to call them and there is an extra price for that. The free at sea wifi includes 75mins of wifi. Upgrading to free at sea plus gives you unlimited wifi but without streaming. If you want to upgrade to premium unlimited with wifi you need to call and pay even more.

Op this is the main gripe and problem regarding Epic - there really are not great views of the sea and in general you feel very disconnected from the sea while on the ship (unless you are on your balcony). The ship - for some reason - was designed in a way that makes it very enclosed. Like Keith mentioned the views are rather limited. There is only one ship designed like the Epic. They quickly realized their mistake. When people are taking a cruise they usually want to be able to feel like being on a ship, see the ocean, hear the ocean, ā€feelā€ the ocean.
  6. Also you can get with the upgraded package freshly squeezed oj if that is something that you like. And sparkling water by the bottle (Pellegrino) instead of a glass of random fountain soda type of club soda.

Ok I don't actually like this but I am sooooo relieved this is happening to someone else too šŸ„° Perhaps they are then having a wider problem on the logging in etc. I guess we cannot do more than wait. Just kind of a spooky thing to think what if the cruise was just about to start or we would be exactly 21 days out and couldn't do any check in or other stuff.
  8. Hi guys and girls, anyone else currently experiencing problems with the NCL app/signing into MyNCL (even on NCL website)? For a couple of days the NCL app has seemed strange: when I have opened it, it has opened up normally but has always said "we cannot find your cruise" and I have had to manually find the cruise by entering the cruise details (ship, sail date, reservation number). This has happened repeatedly. Then suddenly a couple of hours ago the app just logged out on its own and when I try to log in it says my username or password is wrong. Well I happen to know very well what both my password and username are so this isn't the real problem. I happened to have the NCL website open and I am signed in there so I went to my account details. Well strangely my account doesn't show any username. Not sure if that it the problem but in any case I cannot sign in to the app (or to MyNCL on the web using a different browser) so somethings wrong. Should reserve shorex so this is annoying. Anyone else with the same problem currently?
  9. Oh how it would be nice if the ncl shoreside staff would know what they are talking about but noā€¦ Op just book a table for 2 for all of the restaurants that you want. Thats how itā€™s done. And no, you will not be charged two vouchers per visit, just one.
  10. There has been a change starting 1/1. Unfortunately. Only one app, one soup or salad, one main and one dessert from 1/1 onwards. Birdtravels was I guess the first CCā€™er who noticed this yesterday.   11. No need to link anything on NCL. Regardless of how many people you book the restaurant for the system will consider it as only one credit used by you and your wife. When you go to the restaurant onboard they will ask how you pay and then your friends will show them their keycard and say they want to use their package for their payment.
  12. You need to always book the fixed price restaurants first and only then a la carte. The booking system only understand that you have a 3 meal package. It doesnā€™t understand you have the platinum dinners on top of those 3 meals even though you have them. So after you booked 3 first dinners the system thinks you have used all free dinners already. There wouldnā€™t be a problem if the fixed priced restaurant (restaurant reservation nbr 5) had been reserved as part of reservations 1-3 and then only a la carte restaurants for reservations 4-5 as a la carte is never paid in advance. Best thing that you can do now is contact NCL and cancel the reservations you already made and then reserve once again using a different order of reservation (fixed priced restaurants first). You will though be credited back once onboard when you show them the platinum voucher if you want to do it that way and not start cancelling and re-booking now.
  13. Interesting. I quite often want two apps, main and dessert so no soup or salad. Or at Le Bistro I donā€™t like the apps but want soup, salad, main and dessert. Will be interesting to see how they react to situations like this. Sailing in beginning of spring. I wonder how many changes FDR will still do before that šŸ¤£ Btw itā€™s really sad to see the constant penny pinching going on at NCL. Yes NCLH is in financial trouble (like the rest of the cruiselines) but this much trouble that they need to constantly do small penny pinching changes here and thereā€¦for our convenience only, of course šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø I am sure this wonā€™t bother the newer NCL cruisers but as a long time NCL cruiser this might very well be my last NCL cruise (or perhaps any cruise) for several years. Seeing constant cuts in services and penny pinching leaves a very bad taste into my mouth.

  15. I read from another site that the cleaning gives a period of 30 days validity after which it needs to be done again if the ship wants to continue to sail on the area in question.
  16. We do not drink that many drinks per day. Perhaps 2-3. But we drink multiple (read 6-8 šŸ˜) sodas and juices per day. So we need to factor those in on the usage of the drinks package too. Itā€™s not only the alcohol beverages that you get with the drinks package. Youā€™ll get other beverages for free too.
  17. My cruise has a veeery low roll call attendance here on CC so I joined a couple of weeks ago the roll call of ā€the other siteā€ that cannot be named here. Cannot say that the experience has been good. The knowledge of CC people is so high that I cringe at the other siteā€™s roll call. Just after joining it I browsed the discussions a bit and just reading three discussions found three big mistakes in what people were telling to each other on how NCL operates, what is included and what is not, port stops etc. I really had to stop myself and just write a polite happy happy introductory message about myself and not start to immediately correct people šŸ™ƒ That would not have been a good start. I joined another roll call there tooā€¦same problem. Wrong info given to each other. So although I am now on this other siteā€™s roll calls I will definitely consider cc to be my main source of information and knowledge exchange for cruising. It is a shame that the roll calls have moved so much to the other site from cc as frankly it seems that the knowledge level there is very low compared to cc.
  18. You could consider booking them already in advance if you know you want extra nights. The price for two additional nights are for me (booked through NCL EU) 100ā‚¬/pp where as for example 4 extra nights would be 171ā‚¬/pp. You book these through the NCL app or NCL website. I am sure you can also just call them if you prefer to call. Of course you can also just pay a la carte while on the restaurant but that becomes often very expensive.
  19. Is the Splash Academy still divided to different age groups? The link op posted doesnā€™t mention it anywhere but it used to be very strict and you could not change an age group even if there would have been siblings who would be split by age to different groups. Our DD is already over Splash Academy age but just out of curiosity can someone who has been onboard this autumn confirm how things are currently. The below text is from spring 2022 when Splash Academy was opened up again after covid measures. The ā€œSplash Academyā€ program is for ages 3-12, but is further divided into Turtles (3-5 years), Seals (6-9 years), and Dolphins (10-12 years). Within each age bracket, youth counselors supervise age-appropriate activities.
  20. I guess one of the problems with the Fjords part is that the voyage was marketed with the name of ā€Lord of the Fjordsā€. So it sounds like a very big deal. And perhaps was for many. But well now the pax on that cruise lost everything after Melbourne, it was the only port they could go. So cancelled port stops for the RSSC Explorer are: Geelong, Burnie, Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington, Napier, Tauranga, Bay of Islands šŸ˜”
  21. Iā€™m so very sorry to hear that this happened šŸ˜” I have a 17 day cruise booked which goes to NZ too and can only imagine how I would feel if this would happen to us. Yes ship happens, I am fully aware of this , and missing a port or two can happen at any time but this seems very extreme šŸ˜” You lost everything after Melbourne if I understand correctly. And this doesnā€™t show the scenic cruising on NZ fjords which was scheduled between 1/3-5. I can only imagine Andrea DeMarco would wish that Jason Montague was still the CEO and his name would be on that letter to guestsā€¦
  22. I have also wondered about my cruise. We are 97 days out now and it is an Easter cruise so Iā€™d expect it to be full. I made my dinner reservations looooong ago, got exactly what I wanted. Have checked periodically how table reservations are for those days that we didnā€™t book tables for (which include two sea days that should be popular for speciality dining). Everything seems wide openā€¦even 7:00-8:00PM times. There is not even a cruise critic roll call for this cruise šŸ˜¶
  23. Just to show how those two Izumiā€™s show up on the RCI cruise planner. This is Symphony of the Seas btw. As you can see there is Dinner at Izumi with sushi, bowls, goyza, teriyaki dishes (prepared in the kitchen, not next to you) etc etc. Then there is the separate Izumi Hibachi experience which is the traditional Teppanyaki style with cooking show. People at those two different Izumiā€™s donā€™t sit together as the Hibachi people sit at special Teppanyaki tables. We havenā€™t yet decided if weā€™ll go to the Dinner at Izumi as we have only a three dinner package but I have checked through all menus. I am a non fish eater. I could very well eat at Izumi. My choices for appetizers and main courses could be something like: Pork Goyza dumplings Chicken Kara-age Beef or chicken Teriyaki Tonkatsu Ramen Spicy Miso Ramen Yaki Udon with chicken or beef Hibachi vegetables
  24. Just call or chat to NCL and they will add it. I have personality found that chatting is an effective way of getting thing done. Zero to none wait for an agent to come online to my chat and they are very efficient.
  25. From my personal experience: you wonā€™t get anything extra from a NCL PCC, ever. There is simply nothing for them to give.
