  1. i know we’ve been charged on both the Discovery and the Majestic but was told by the officers that it shouldn’t be listed as a charge. On our last cruise, with the premier package, we asked the people at the coffee bar to charge us the night before and we’d grab our coffees in the morning, just to be on the safe side. It shouldn’t have to happen that way .. not sure why it does. I will check it out on my next cruise and hope to come back with some information.
  2. We had the premier package, so we’re really surprised we had been charged for morning coffees and cocktails. I’ve have been charged for the same on the morning of the second leg of a B2B, as well but that was taken care of onboard. I would really like to know if it is allowed or not, though. We’ve been on cruises since then .. asked that we be told if they were going to charge us to our account after we’ve disembarked and they said we would not. But, we haven’t put that to the test.
  3. We’ve experienced very long blue lane lines and very short green lane lines. To me, it’s worth the $10 to have it shipped. That’s my personal choice, though.
  4. I bet them handing out pamphlets went over like a lead balloon with the cruise line.
  5. Without seeing the new line item charges, I can only speculate on what happened as we’ve experienced the same thing. We were charged corkage for a bottle of wine we purchased onboard along with being charged for our specialty coffees and mimosas we ordered the last morning after 6 AM but before disembarking. We also get our folios on two different final invoices. It ends up with were overcharged about $45. I sent in my request for these overcharges via the Princess website to the post cruise using the following link. https://book.princess.com/captaincircle/customerCare.page Scroll down to the section for support request and chose Post Cruise Comments or Questions and then choose Onboard Folio Statement We had received a check for our overcharges back in a couple of weeks, minus the taxes charged by the port, after outlining our issue.
  6. that’s right .. and there may have been another restaurant in town where there was some scuttlebutt happening.
  7. Fig and blue cheese pizza … I am in, too! I also love pesto and pineapple with extra Parmesan cheese .. throw extra mushrooms and artichokes hearts on there as well. I couldn’t be any happier with this decision.
  8. I am not a foodie and I’ve only been on RCCL 3 times and can honestly say, the food, aside from their specialty restaurants, wasn’t impressive at all. The best restaurant I’ve ever been to anywhere, land or sea, is The Catch by Rudi. I would also have to say that Tony Gemignani’s piazza restaurants have had the best pizza I’ve ever encountered. As far as Gigi’s or Alfredo’s, the best minestrone ever was on the Discovery. I don’t know what they did with the soup but it was so wonderful! We’d skip dinner just for that soup.
  9. We’ve also eaten at many of Tony’s restaurants throughout the SF Bay Area over the last 3 decades. Wow .. best pizza ever! There was even one here in town where we live and that was our go to pizza place before they closed down. I will be looking forward to him partnering with Princess. Great move, IMO!
  10. Even though we always get either the plus or premier package, we try to attend the PES happy hour at least half of the nights it is available. We go for the snacks, some of which are very good. We use it as an early and light dinner.
  11. Previously, I believe that your flight, if on Southwest, has to be scheduled prior to 6:30 PM to use port valet. Now, they may have bumped that up a bit. So, you can still use it but perhaps the timing of your flight has to be in the early afternoon. I think the service is invaluable, especially in Seattle.
  12. They may have a large group looking into booking. I know they can sometimes hold a group of cabins for this reason.
  13. I knew someone would argue with this point, which was that you may have luck OR you may be denied. I have seen them make people dump water and coffee, sandwiches and foods that are not factory sealed this year. You may get through, you may not. The person that posted this just gave fair warning. Kudos!
  14. I have seen so many more regulations enforced in this past year than ever before. I think you were wise to post this just so people are advised. Like others, I’ve had no trouble bringing on flowers in the past .. but, it’s food to be warned that they may not be able to bring them onboard any longer. I’m sure some ports are pickier than others.
  15. So sorry to hear this. It appears your cruise is sold out so, hopefully you can find a compassionate representative to help you move the cruise to another date. You may want to try to contact someone in special cabin requests or with the department that handles move over requests. They may very well be able to resell your cabin and you could possibly receive a refund or a future date where it would be more conducive. If not and you still can’t go, your credit card (if you used one) may have some insurance available to you. Be sure to check with them, just in case. I was stuck in one of those full straight leg casts with no weight bearing for 7 weeks after my knee surgery back in 2021. I used a fold up walker (it had been my dad’s .. tennis balls and all 🤣 ) and was able to get around by hopping on one leg with the help of the walker. I never could master the crutches. I’m not a young person and the fold up walker was doable, albeit a bit tiresome. You can get ice at anytime onboard .. just take lots of zip lock bags and/or take a medical icing machine. They aren’t that big or cumbersome. Although, I don’t imagine many excursions would be possible, there still may be some. There are a lot of fun events on the ship and you can find a place on deck to just enjoy the gorgeous scenery and wildlife.
  16. You are right! But, I did see the same new story about them getting into an argument before he disappeared and I did note it was speculation.
  17. You are right, not all grandparents are elderly. However, it sounds like she requires a care team, so more likely than not, she may not be young and spry. But, it just now dawns on me that perhaps the Care Team was for the young boy. Hmmm?
  18. I assume the same thing. I can’t imagine they would be staying docked indefinitely or even an extra day.
  19. I heard thes same thing on our local news. I wonder if their argument was about him wanting to leave to go meet up with his newly made friend and his grandmother said no. That’s just speculation, of , but the whole situation is very sad.
  20. Oh my .. that’s so disturbing! Hope this young man is found anlive and didn’t go through anything dramatic.
  21. As @Mark_K says, if you have your medallion, just go directly to the green line. Nobody will even ask to see you app. They will just ask if you have your medallion. Our app oftentimes just changes from green lane to blue lane ahead of time and goes back to green again before embarkation.
  22. To pack light, we always take some extra food storage plastic bags (not zip lock) and just regular leather walking or tennis shoes. After we put on our socks, we slip our feet into the plastic bags before putting on our shoes and secure the tops by slipping them into the tops of our sock. Our socks and feet stay dry, even when walking on ice or in snow. You can also waterproof your shoes with spray if you feel it is necessary, but we’ve not found the need to do so. One thing we make room for in our luggage is sunscreen. We’ve hit some warm sunny weather up in Alaska in both July and August.
  23. Can’t wait to try it. Sure wish they served lunch but we are happy either way. Thanks for the info
  24. It was a long time ago and the kids couldn’t use their cell phones. Not sure if I even had one at the time.
