We used RomeCabs (have used them for years) and it was just under an hour.

Does Oceania anchor off of Amalfi or Positano?
WNcruiser replied to Lance&Jen's topic in Oceania Cruises
On Riviera, we also anchored off Amalfi. I don’t recall Oceania ever stopping at Positano before, but I am happy to be corrected. -
I took the picture and was on the Jupiter end of January, beginning of February. I asked several bar staff if this was the current menu and they all said yes. Maybe they didn’t know a new one was coming, but we never saw it.

Absolutely! Definitely one of the best perks in the industry.

Ooh, that carpet. Must have been a huge sale 😳

Definitely the miso Chilean sea bass in CR. One of the best I’ve ever had, I actually ordered a second and skipped dessert (a rarity for me!). It was cooked to perfection. Ask one of the head waiters in La Veranda when they will have Pasteis de nata, an incredibly good custard pastry from Portugal. They only made it twice on our 13 night cruise.

Absolutely. Does it affect my food or service? No. I don’t choose to judge or criticize others on my cruise. I worry about myself 😊

Oh boy, another dress code thread. Hopefully it gets locked soon. Am I the only person who could care less what others wear or do? It has no affect on me or my cruise, I mind my own business and enjoy the wonderful food and service.

Your business class flight could be downgraded
WNcruiser replied to Banti's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
We took this cruise (Santiago-Buenos Aires) on Viking last month. This happened to several people on our cruise as well. They had confirmed seats from BA to Miami in business but were downgraded at the airport. We had booked our own air and had no issues with our seats. I am guessing maybe the cruise got a discounted price on the airfare and that's why the cruise passengers are the ones being downgraded? Just another reason we NEVER use cruise air. -
How does Viking Ocean Cruises compare to Seabourn?
WNcruiser replied to MarciAnn's topic in Viking Ocean
It depends on the ship. The Ovation and Encore are all balcony suites. -
How does Viking Ocean Cruises compare to Seabourn?

Yes, but just like Oceania and Regent I have never seen a child on board. -
So glad to finally see some news about Vista. It doesn't seem like there has been much information, photos, videos since the flout out last year. Hopefully we will start to see some more of her in the coming weeks.

How does Viking Ocean Cruises compare to Seabourn?
WNcruiser replied to MarciAnn's topic in Viking Ocean
Overall we have found Seabourn to be much less. It may not be in all cases, but we didn’t feel ripped off like we did on our last Viking cruise of 17 nights. -
It was much more than those things. I have been on over 100 cruises and think I know when one isn’t great. I was just agreeing with her observations.

How does Viking Ocean Cruises compare to Seabourn?
WNcruiser replied to MarciAnn's topic in Viking Ocean
Seabourn had one of the best crews we have ever experienced on a ship. And like "Jim", I have travelled on most of the luxury lines. It is more intimate and of course all inclusive with all liquor and gratuities included. The entertainment is also better than Viking if that is of any importance to you. -
@J80crew Very nice review and I had a very similar experience on the Jupiter a few weeks ago. Same issues with the beverage selection with many wines and liquors not available. They blamed supply issues but that doesnt cut it when you can find all these items at almost any port. We felt the same way about the burgers at the grill and overall the food was disappointing. Definitely taking a break from Viking for a while and as our first two cruises with them (31 nights) were just not worth the price paid for us.

I have had excellent communication with Nice tours. They have great reviews but I have not used them yet. Also contacted Saga who have some good cruise excursions. They got back to me in a day or two. https://nicetravel.is/

Just noticed on my reservation that ALL 4 restaurants are now showing as available for booking. The mystery is hopefully solved 🙂

We just returned from a SA cruise and disembarked in BA. What a complete mess! This is a huge industrial shipping port, not a passenger cruise terminal. You are required to take a bus anytime you want to leave or board the ship. When we returned from our AM excursion around 1 PM, both Princess and Costa were boarding. There was no line for returning passengers (we overnighted on the ship) and we were stuck in a line of hundreds of people. Very poor experience.
