  1. We always stay in a mini suite, regardless of the ship, and the standard bath tub/shower combo is in every one. I wish we could have the separate shower!
  2. Why is it that those who think the plus package is not for them feel the need to try to convince others they don’t need it either. So what if someone only wants 1 cocktail per day, 6 lattes, 4 juice from the juice bar, 2 Premium desserts, fitness classes, 3 bottles of Perrier, etc., etc.! But, they say “It’s only 1 alcoholic beverage, so you don’t need the package because you don’t drink 15!” Why do these people care? I don’t care if you choose not to buy the package nor would I try to talk you into it. I don’t care if you do the math or if you don’t. I don’t care if you get the package only because you like not to worry about what you’re spending. I don’t care if you’re losing money. That’s your business! If you want to have it, get it. If you don’t want it, then don’t. Nobody cares.
  3. You are very welcome, Lynn!
  4. I’m sorry, but we’re not allowed to share the names of CVPs here on CC. I really, really love your name! It’s perfect! Really, love that name!
  5. Yes, you can certainly request a new CVP. Call the CVP direct number and do not key in the extension number. You will get someone in the CVP department. Tell them your story and ask for a new CVP rep. I do not know if the cruises you already have booked can be transferred between reps. There is, unfortunately, no guarantee that a new CVP will suit you better, but it’s worth a try. Mine is worth her weight in gold, so I hope you can find one as capable and efficient as her.
  6. It was back when it was offered at $40.00 US per day, I believe….. just looked it up on my calendar and it came to $110.50 Canadian per day for both of us. So, $55.00 pp/pd. Not bad at all.
  7. I was reading this from an American CC member on post #118. We rarely visit the US, so I just assumed that you used the same technology. Very interesting, thanks for pointing that out.
  8. Please see post #13, which I was responding to. I did not accuse CC members of being critical “ever”.
  9. Actually, we’re not afraid of being criticized by anyone. We just prefer to look nice. You might want to try it out, you never know you may just enjoy it!
  10. You all look stunning! Love to see people take pride in their wardrobe choices. This is quite normal for European cruises, but unfortunately a rarity in the US.
  11. Since everyone here is an adult, capable of making their own decisions regarding alcoholic beverages, your opinion applies to only you. We certainly don’t need to be told by you what’s appropriate. This is not the first time we’ve heard this from you, but please let it be the last.
  12. In Canada we also have tap and go technology and have had for years. Nobody uses cash here unless absolutely necessary. We love travelling to the UK and Europe because it’s just like home. The USA needs to catch up!
  13. We always stay at Moxy Hotel and they get a cab for us. We just ask. We either use Blackberry Cars or a Princess transfer upon disembarking.
  14. Yes, I know that. You didn’t specify, so I wanted to be sure. Been there many times and will be back in September.
  15. Sorry, but “in the city” I assume you’re referring to London?
  16. Since it’s against CC rules to share the names of TAs or CVPs, I prefer not to do so.
  17. Since we’re not allowed to share the names of our CVPs, it’s really hit and miss. You could call and ask specifically for someone who has been with Princess a considerable length of time and who themselves have sailed on Princess ships. I have no idea if this would work for you. You could also use a travel agent who is recommended by your friends and family. Good luck to you!
  18. I’m one of the lucky ones, too. A big issue for me is trying to understand the Princess call reps who are Filipino. No disrespect intended, but I just can’t communicate properly with them. My CVP is a Floridian with many cruises under her belt. I literally do nothing but choose the cruise and give her my credit card number. Wish I could share her name with you.
  19. Good luck! One day you may regret that decision.
  20. This is exactly the opposite of the truth. Booking with a TA or CVP would have eliminated the six hour phone marathon. That’s their job.
  21. Whatever works! Be it TA or CVP, as long as we’re well taken care of without the the headaches.
  22. Another very good reason to use a Princess CVP or a TA. I wouldn’t even dream of booking a cruise without our loyal and very knowledgeable CVP. So sorry you have to experience this level of ineptitude. Fortunately, I have not had to deal with this issue. Princess needs to do better. People will start to look elsewhere for their cruise vacations if these problems with staff are not acknowledged and corrected. In the meantime, get yourselves a good TA or CVP.
  23. Works for us. We enjoy cocktails, wine with dinner, specialty coffees (with or without alcohol), Perrier and occasional sofas. We need wifi, always do prepaid gratuities, etc. We also like the convenience of not having to be concerned about what we’re adding to our onboard account. Does it work for everybody? Of course not. Only you know your own particular needs and the value you put on them. Does Princess make money on the packages? Of course they do. They make money on all aspects of your cruise. Cruiselines are a business not a charity.
