  1. I think you misunderstood…camo as in camouflage clothing
  2. I am on the Miracle to Alaska in a few weeks, I was able to book it under the home port.
  3. It really depends on the bartender. I have been able to get both at the same time and I have been told to wait the 5 min as well. Never had an issue getting water and a drink at the same time though. I am on the same sailing as you.
  4. I guess we shall see. I will make sure to let you know how it goes on the 19th. No matter what happens I will make the best of it. Im excited to be checking a whole lot of things off my bucket list.
  5. Yes thats how it worked when the Bliss docked last week. My concern is that should the ship decide those with excursions booked directly through them get priority debarkation, we wont get a bus early enough to make the 7:30 excursion. I know many people on the ship have the same excursion booked so I cannot imagine Chilkoot not waiting or changing things up a bit if they see this is a problem.
  6. Carnival Miracle, I will be sure to post and let you all know how its working at that time.
  7. I emailed them about the same and was told that since there was only one ship so far they are still working things out and hopefully within the next few weeks they will have a better idea of how things are going. I will be there 5/19 and like you, will do what I need to to ensure I have my tickets.
  8. None, you can only bring a bottle of wine (1 Per person over 21) and/or 12 cans of soft drinks.
  9. I am on that sailing in May as well and can't find anything official. Some say its the 2nd and 7th night, others say one might be a port night and I have also heard there's a 3rd formal night but don't know which night it is. I don't plan on being "formal", just plan on a pair of slacks or leggings with a nice shirt. From what I understand, people don't get very dressed up for Alaska cruises. Its my first to Alaska, so guess I will see.
  10. I had this argument with my mother 40 years ago regarding my HS senior pics. I spent 4 years in jeans and band shirts and she insisted I get dressed up (we took pics with and without graduation gowns). Im like why do you want pictures of me looking like not me. Oh and she ended up not even purchasing them....
  11. Thanks for sharing. I am going this May.
  12. I got the same deal, it was a no brainer, especially since I live in NYC, so no travel to the port.
  13. This blog post gives some suggestions for free things to do https://www.saintgregtravel.com/icy-strait-point-cruise-port/?fbclid=IwAR1c07dO4F-jRJP6lbj_hhM6dRqDdikDQrqtBfy9RHtsTiR-aVQuHwQQp3I
  14. If you want to relax I would not suggest Amber Cove even though its easier to get to the pool. I was there in June and it was LOUD. Think Margaritaville with the DJ and everyone partying. Then add the kids running around. There werent many places to "get away". On St Maarten you might have to hop a cab to the beach, but you can then find a quiet spot to just read and relax.
  15. I grew up in Coney Island, I have a big Coney island tattoo on my thigh which includes the Nathans logo/facade. When we saw the truck we all laughed.
  16. I’m on the Legend and that’s exactly what we have been told has happened. No other information was provided (nor should it be IMHO).
  17. I am on the ship right now. I have no issues in my cabin but have spoken with multiple people who are freezing. One person said the temp in their cabin was 52. They were told different things by different people at guest services from it’s not working to there is no heat to we will send someone..and no one comes. Yesterday many of the public areas were quite cold, especially the Lido Buffett. People were walking around indoors with heavy coats. We are docked in Freeport right now due to an unexpected emergency but the temps outside are around 75-80 so being cold shouldn’t be an issue but people are worried about the trip back.
  18. In NY its allowed to be smoked in public anywhere cigarettes are allowed to be smoked. I know that has nothing to do with cruises, just pointing out that it is acceptable in public there.
  19. I am on that journey cruise as well. I originally was on a 14 day on the Legend, I switched it to this one. It was cheaper, I got additional OBC and I dont have to drive from NYC to Balt.
  20. I sailed in June and there were no hammocks
  21. I booked the 15 day southern Caribbean. I had been booked on a 14 day out of Baltimore but changed it to this one. I live in NYC, its an extra day and I had a better offer.
  22. Someone asked John Heald this morning about pre cruise purchases that don't show on their new sailing and he replied that everything purchased previously would be moved over, its just taking them some time.
  23. They will be sailing from NYC year round. I just changed from a 14 day Journey's cruise out of Balt on the Legend to the 15 day out of NYC on the Venezia next year.
  24. I just had soda water with various flavors of syrup added. They had so many. My favorite was the guava.
  25. Just got off the Adventure this morning. We bought the package for one device and it worked as expected. It was fine (albeit slow) to check email, social media etc but streaming was not optimal. We tried to watch some of the baseball playoffs and it would constantly buffer. Download what you need beforehand.
