  1. Seems like op is saying the same things I usually read. Carnival is better for fast food and lunch. I like their pizza better. I did not like carnival Mdr dinners, rcl better. Etc. I'd like to combine the 2 lines and have the fast food of carnival and rcl dinners. I miss good hamburgers on royal. Cant wait for dream and my next guys burger. And carnival white pizza.
  2. Most cruises are going out full, especially newer ships, so royal up is a gamble at best. Often they dont give you a answer to if you won a royal up until very close to the cruise. There rarely would be time to sign in and place a new bid on a yet higher category. The royal up would have to reset and havent seen this happening recently.
  3. Ask the loyalty ambassador on your next cruise if you want a new pin. He can usually give you one.
  4. Ok not too many seem to be interested in stocks. I'm a addict. I started with my dad as a kid. So after 50 years of stocks, and it's how I make money so was sharing some trading ideas. When I'd sell and when I'd buy. Documented, as later who knows, thought it important to document times and dates. I'd sold my shares I hold just to hold for obc, so was watching it trade and couldnt resist. I have a spidey sense for trading, but of course I look at the charts too before I jump in. Still looking for my re entry to buy back my shares to hold for obc. I think Powell speaking is absolutely fascinating lol. More dovish than I expected. Stocks are my passion. We can go bsck to the regular posts here. Just thought I'd throw it out there how easy to swing trade. I love stocks.
  5. But the extra perks on oasis class are all I care about. Lol. Wifi and ck. I dont care about drinks. But if I saw a super deal on any suite, I'll take it, with or without perks, for the extra pt.
  6. I booked the 7 day mariner, early may 2024. I think after that it does shorter cruise. I just booked the one on mariner. Personally I have not been on mariner so wanted to do her once, but I've done that class before. I prefer oasis class, but want variety too. I would book a suite for the perks on oasis, I want ck, etc. Not this class. Good luck.
  7. Lol I think I paid extra, about $250 to book that last cabin. It wasnt part of group space and cost extra. I had had a ov balcony on oasis but never a neighborhood and when allure came to Galveston prices were elevated. I paid double last dec to try it than a park balcony this sept after the shine worse off. I wouldnt pay extra again, but I do have one coming up, either bella2 or bella2.5 they had boardwalk in the group prices. Rare. I wouldnt say I wouldn't do it again, but I wouldnt pay extra.
  8. Covered my short for $3 x 1000. $3000 will pay for a leg of cruising. Took the easy money, 102.87 to 99.87 this morning. Powell is speaking in the next hour and historically tanks the market plus earnings tomorrow. Why risk how rcl stock will react. Last time it went to 97 and bounced but earnings could disrupt the channel. Nice swing trade while it stayed in a predictable pattern. Higher rates and higher oil not a positive for rcl long term. Yes I know they hedge oil. Cant wait for tomorrow's earnings.
  9. I was the very last boardwalk balcony cabin and I thought they were noisy with sports, sometimes until 11 pm. Saturday they played college games, sunday the day we boarded was nfl. We also had a couple of days of soccer. They were so loud on allure, I could hear the broadcaster calling plays with the door closed. Of course we also had movies and the aqua show a few nights, which I expected. I didnt expect football until 11 pm. Didnt ruin my cruise but it was louder than I expected. I loved the view though of the aft.
  10. It was like 5 great ports .... and jamaica. Been to falmouth too many times to count. A good chance I wasnt going to get off. I would really have liked all 3 of the ABC islands. We got A and C. I just recently booked adventure april 2025 going to ABC, so I'll get a 2nd chance. We are skipping bonaire on carnival and have jamaica instead!! So I'm ok wherever it stops there. I've never seen any of the ABC islands, or costa rica.
  11. Carry on means you carry them on, and lug them around until your cabin is ready. FAQ says carry on only. The 12 non alcoholic drinks are per cabin.
  12. Mine is a 14 day journey cruise too. I wish it was regular. I like priority debark. My last carnival Breeze b2b cruises we were so late docking back in texas. We had to rescue 2 men and a dog. I was so glad I could get off priority. Mostly doesnt matter much. Yours sounds awesome too.
  13. I dont know why they woukd have a plan social that I cant use my email on? I would pay that much but not to use some social sites.
  14. I saw a post elsewhere, that said we get there a hour later, and leave 30 minutes later, so we lose 30 minutes. Actually I admit it, I love the ports. That's why I booked it. Though the 7 hour or whatever it is all dy to see the Panama canal excursion long since sold out. Dumb rcl had none that only did the canal, only 1 hour at a welcome center. By the time I looked the excursion on carnival was sold out. Others want to book it too. This cruise apparently has been sold out since last april, it's not even on the site for months now. And it's not until next January. They had one like this last oct and mine, but no more scheduled since so made it even more popular. I think we got a lot of casino folks on though so it's not all paying customers. But I'm lucky to have booked it.
  15. It says port times for Colon Panama have been adjusted, but doesnt say the new or old times .. kinda odd. Maybe this is the day as you say. Well at least it's not like rcl who is billing for already booked cruises for extra Bahamas fees. No extra fees, I'm good!
  16. I know I think it's you who said rcl is really consistently inconsistent. I saw aud fees are built in but this seems to just be Bahamas. Australia maybe isnt going there unless they used a USA TA, then they probably got it too. I cant wait for earnings. See if they made progress on their debt. Its trading like there will be a nice surprise. Hoping this nickle and diming shows on the bottom line. I saw where the OP said rcl cant afford such a large jump, but then I see a lot of posts where fees and taxes went down. As far as not affording it. .. my oct 12 2024 harmony was fairly inexpensive when booked but now a balcony is like $1639 per person (goes to nassau and coco cay)... with these hikes seems like $30 is covered. .. though mine isnt up that much. I remember the days of the oil add on. Caused a lot of ill will imo and then most were removed. I'm sure this time there is something allowing them to add whatever they feel like. I dont have to agree with how it's done. I know.
  17. They used to have signs to use a clean cup to refill your container. Makes sense to me. Just use a clean glass and refill it rather than putting your cup which no one knows if properly sanitized up to the spigot. I want ice in my cup too.
  18. Wasnt that excited to go to ocho Rios, but falmouth no better. I did think it was mostly rcl going to falmouth? The other 5 ports are the ones I wanted. Says time in colon Panama adjusted. Hmmm Panama, costa rica, columbia, aruba and curacao are the 5 ports I care about.
  19. Oh good another person passing judgement telling me what to do. Hahahaha. I dont care what others do, I dont like posts telling me what to do.. it's not up to you. Lots of bossy people. Carry on. ... I think its amusing so many people getting so upset over cream for coffee. I do prefer cream. But I sure will not choose a cruiseline over half and half. Too funny. Well I've had my fun for the day. I know you argue a lot, I've seen it. I read your post to see which way you came down.... interesting. I cant understand why posters feel they need to tell other posters how to think and cruise.
  20. And I have not. I posted the email twice in this thread where I asked and got 0. Rcl says it's up to the ship. They do not have a policy to refund extra port fees. .. I can post the email again, but my pt was the email from mbayley office says I cant get extra port fees refunded because they lock them I and dont charge extra if they go up. I didnt say some random people have never gotten any overage back. The letter says it's up to the ship. Liberty twice choose not to refund, even when we missed a port. Carnival is fair handed and always refunds overage after you board, if it's less. I wasnt talking about a few people who got it back. I can post their email if you missed it. I get it people who cruise rcl dont care if they are billed extra. It's not a huge deal. I doubt anyone will cancel over it. Personally I'd like a policy that applies to all ships.
  21. Yes. When you sign in it should also reflect the new higher level.
  22. I love anytime dining. Are you sure you want to give it up? Unless its changed, on vista and breeze when I was ready to eat, I walked down toward the Mdr. The app computer finds you a table. IF you want to eat with strangers, there was a 2nd button you could push and sometimes it finds you strangers to eat with. Sometimes for dinner, it timed out and I was lead to a 2 top to eat alone. I have read where lately some matches took over 10 minutes. But you can sit and listen to music or whatever while you wait for the app to find a table for you. Anytime dining you eat when you want and it's set up as lots of mostly 2 tops. You and you friend might enjoy eating when you want together rather than at a set time.
  23. I hate it when rcl loyalists post rubbish like if you are not 100% pleased you should go cruise another line, over something trivial. It gets tiring to hear go cruise another line if every single thing isnt perfect. Over cream?? The OP noted what seems like another cutback. Why are people rushing to say go to another line if they post even a tiny negative. Very judgemental.
  24. You seem to totally be off in left field alone. Up until now locking in the price and fees, the price is then the price. They dont allow you to price match if the fees and taxes drop, because its locked in. It's the principle. I havent seen anyone, not one person who said they couldnt afford $30. Lolol. It's how they are doing it after people thought they knew the price. So far I've only heard about 2 cruises. Some of us have multiple cruises going there. Even my oct out of Galveston 8 days goes there twice. I'd rather they keep raising rates than tack on added costs. Personally I rarely cruise ncl, so dont care what they do. One on carnival, I wouldnt like if they tacked on costs later. Though carnival always gives back overpayment of port fees as obc during the cruise, unlike royal. I like their honest approach. I dont care if it's just a few bucks.
  25. That would be my pick too. I want the newer ship with more food options. Milk and cookies in a area for the little ones in the evening. .. but then newness would make a difference and I want mardi gras or jubilee, more than ports.
