  1. I havent seen any myself but if people knew what ship they might have more input.
  2. I'm booked voyager may 2025. TA to barcelona out of PC. Barcelona 10 days to rome. Some booked the 3rd leg, 7 days ending in athens. The price was right. I'm solo and higher loyalty enough to get the DP340 25% off plus group rates and balcony discounts. 2 legs or 3, at the lower prices for solo that was the only question. I decided to do 2 legs and end in rome. Spend 4 days in rome, then flying to miami over night. Leg 3 if you want to end in athens instead of rome. Group prices were right. Only was $30 more for a oceanview balcony on TA over a inside. Leg 1 VISITING: Orlando (Port Canaveral), Florida Ponta Delgada, Azores Málaga, Spain Cartagena, Spain Palma De Mallorca, Spain Barcelona, Spain Leg 2 VISITING: Barcelona, Spain Ajaccio, Corsica Sardinia (Cagliari), Italy Sicily (Palermo), Italy Santorini, Greece Athens (Piraeus), Greece Mykonos, Greece Naples / Capri, Italy Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy + View Ports & Map
  3. Considered same as a iron and could start a fire. I know you disagree but they will take it out of your suitcase. Lucky they allow hair stuff imo which seems just as dangerous to me.
  4. Friday and early monday ccl low 17s I would have bought if I was buying. Bought a condo and moved, so not buying stocks. But if I was holding for a year I'd be a buyer of ccl, especially low 17s. Around 20 is resistance. Gets to 20 and backs off, was up to around 19 after earnings until the hurricane. Needs a few more qtrs of profit I think flr buyers to be comfortable. Paying down some debt early. Strong bookings. Cramer said the night before ccl earnings people act like strong bookings is suddenly going to stop, just a 1 qtr thing.
  5. Wow that's a big improvement then. When I was on I could email but not attach a picture to a email and send and I tried various locations. I was ok but wifi was terrible.
  6. I did grandeur and wasnt my favorite but bad timing. I was on it out of texas right first time, after it came from the islands. Had bugs in my bathroom pipes first 2 legs for instance. So I'm probably not the right person to ask. Had a dominating waiter one leg, I went above her. She told me what I could order. Back then they still had 3 menus kids regular and vegetarian and she said i wasnt allowed to order anything not on regular menu twice .. they put me at a table with newbies who were ok with being told what she suggested they order. I knew i was allowed to order from the kids or other menu that were fleet wide. I havent been back on her. I saw she was out of Tampa next year. Decided no for me.
  7. I'm holding but not buying more here. Only 100 shares right now. Stocks sold off since that hurricane hit the news and CNBC kept saying cruise stocks selling off, forecast lots of hurricanes. CNBC manipulated the sell off imo. I happened to see ccl yesterday the chart turned positive. I would buy ccl here if I didnt hold it but not rcl. Rcl a bit too high perhaps but was even higher. Forecast of hurricanes shouldnt be enough to crash all cruise stocks. If it sold off more I'd buy more, but not here. Ccl posted good earnings and finally a profit, then hurricane news hit.
  8. There is a thread up now where the op booked a gty and thinks it's unfair their newbie friends got a promenade cabin and they got a regular inside. They mention their status that royal should take it into consideration. I've run into this in person. A couple was berating royal, they got assigning a connecting neighborhood balcony next to a screaming infant. They were in the then diamond lounge and thought too royal should have paid attention to the age of the child next to them, how they were diamond and never sailing again. You can see status mentioned all the time. How royal should have taken their diamond or whatever status into consideration, its not fair.
  9. Carnival shows reviews of excursions, royal does not. You would have to google to find reviews. Royal just doesnt show them. Doesnt post them. I wish they would but nope.
  10. I have finished booking hotels, excursions in rome and flight home. 2 are thru viator and 1 thru trip advisor. Which seems to be the same thing. 2 I clicked pay later but cant get tickets until I pay, the other is nonrefundable and I meet someone somewhere and exchange the voucher they sent to print for tickets. The one I cant refund is the skip the line sisteen chappel ticket. Seems confusing the whole ticketing thing. For the ports I'll decide when I see what royal offers. Easier. All these different ways to get tickets idk. I'll decide later. I got a lot of ports. The 13 day ta goes to Barcelona, then the leg with greece and Italy, maybe Turkey. Havent sorted those yet, waiting on royal. That's a lot of ports. I just moved and still things to do. Lol I no showed to my may cruise so that's 2 I no showed for since my mom passed. Been kinda overwhelmed.
  11. I tried to edit but typed too slow. I think similar ports. I see carnival you paid about $1k you said for flights. Air2sea was $1090 if I flew home within 48 hours but jumped to $1510 if I waited. I'm waiting because I'm staying longer in rome, and wasnt paying $1510. So I booked direct to miami on air europa. They have a flight to orlando but has 2 plane changes, madrid and JFK. I didnt want to risk 2 plane changes so at extra cost overall im flying to miami. Orlando also isnt a international hub I'm told by my TA. He suggested miami. One plane change and I get in sooner. Its booked so dont need criticism of my choice lol some already jumped on me for my choice. I also yesterday booked brightline train from miami to orlando, also not refundable. Sounds fun. Premium includes lot and lots of food and drinks, alcoholic drinks. I was surprised myself. No wonder they arent turning a profit lol. Florida has to fund the next station in tampa, then cocoa after that. The cocoa station will be closer but not soon enough to help me. I'll have to shuttle from orlando airport to near PC. But we do have similar ports. I'll read it thru later. My flight will add a extra night in miami. Its booked so people telling me how they would have booked to orlando instead no help. Not paying $1510 for air2sea either. But I havent planned anything for my ports for the 10 day. Thanks .. I'll read thru yours when im awake.
  12. I might have read it but might read it again. I'm on a similar 10 day but havent done anything yet about the ports. But they sound similar. I don't think any excursions are showing yet for my ports. Its 1 am so I'll bookmark it, but I'd like to review it when the port stuff opens. Mine isnt until next may. I wish the excursion stuff was open so I could start thinking about that too.
  13. Ok thanks. I'm out of PC and mardi gras here and that Italian ship moved to carnival here. I get DP340 solo disco and dont get casino rates so royal is always cheaper for me as a solo. I also admit I love fast food. And on a cruise on carnival splurge on calories. I'd rather a hamburger than a steak. But lately between group rates and solo discount royal cant be beat on price for me. I get it why others dont like it and one and done. For me it's about the price. I started on Princess like many others here ... then princess left texas, though its back now, I've moved. But I bought into princess is the best when I started too. I prefer not to fly. I'd do more HAL if it was easier to gr to.
  14. I think I was in heavy fog out of Galveston and in a central park balcony. I think if that fog horn is blowing you hear it, doesn't matter where your cabin is.
  15. Please show me just one this price. I'd love to find this price. I'm solo and live near a port and can jump on last minute. I looked a few days ago, nothing close I saw.
  16. It could be a 30 minute walk or so to some Vatican stuff I scheduled. I better get walking. I'm here just moved to florida coast and its soooooo hot. Just taking the elevator here to the top floor I'm sweating lol. I dont think the elevator counts as exercise. I'm going to have to get in shape to walk 30 minutes and then do a excursion on my feet, and walk home. I assume we arent on the same ship though. Looks like it's much cooler in rome than florida in the summer.
  17. I'd be curious how you would decide this. OP took celebration out of calif which runs cheaper than mardi gras or jubilee same class of ship. Its generally cheaper to go out of calif. So would you compare to older navigator or a newer ship out of another port like Galveston or Florida?
  18. Grandeur one of the b2b ladies went back to her cabin and her bathroom stuff was gone. Some favorite kind of stuff she got $50 finally to replace. You would think the cleaning crew would know if stuff isnt packed and have it on a b2b list. Someone took her favorite shower stuff, not the rest just her favorite shower stuff walked off. I was there and she was really fussing.
  19. I've been able to find a unlocked door twice on harmony b2b to get back to my cabin. I got a b4b on harmony this oct. I bet I can find a unlocked door. Never couldnt so far, if one is locked I go to the other end of the hall. I always thought b2b was allowed to go back to ther cabins after we went thru the turnaround stuff.
  20. Idk if I get regular weather, I get fox weather here. But they just showed Galveston and the water breached on sea wall. Surge was 3 ft and enough to come in on the deep side. Power out. Glad I didnt park there. Lost my car to hurricane Ike. Right after crusing resumed a cat 1 came in, didnt hardly make the news but I had water must have come thru my drivers door, seal wasnt good enough. I was parked at lighthouse that time. I still have salt marks on my drivers seat but no other damage and water receded befor I got home. So twice I've had cars parked went thru hurricanes. So I have a good reason not to park there during hurricanes.
  21. I noticed a post from saltwater moms saying the port closed this morning. They are a shuttle and got word closed.
  22. I think it's also what you are used to. I rotated a lot between carnival and royal because of texas for a while that's all there was. When I do carnival i go and try a guys burger and do the things I miss when I'm on royal. I have favorite things i like on both. I get it carnival folks hate royal and royal folks feel the same. I seem to be the only one on both boards that has things i enjoy on both.
  23. I accidentally missed my last cruise, so my 14 day Carnival journey cruise is still my last cruise. I too loved their free fast food options. Guys burgers, mexican, stir fry, their pizza to me is so much better. I hardly eat royals. I didnt have a bad meal in the Mdr, and enjoyed the emerils additional. I rate carnivals Mdr over royal by a lot. They do have limited buffet but they have a deli in the buffet and I enjoyed a BLT 3 times. Elevator waits so much better on caenival. 3 banks and we have people not show for this cruise. There was a weather event might be why, idk but it was nice not having just 2 elevator banks and always a wait. Odd I've always though the crew on carnival like stewards was more friendly not less. Never saw the arguing you mention. Vs last harmony I had a lazy bones steward, skipped me totally 3 or 4 days. I dont need that much attention but it was clear my royal steward played up to the suites and never learned peoples names. She called everyone sunshine. I let it go as I was on another week and chea GED cabins, but royals steward was lazy. I was going to say something in my email review but i filled out week 3 review and week 2 said too late, cant fill outnreview so never said anything on my review. I am pushing for pinnacle so booking royal plus royal is just cheaper for me as a solo. Royal is cheaper than carnival so i book royal for the cheaper price. I wish carnival had group rates like royal does. I'd booked the journey cruise on a 50% off birthday sale, 1 cruise allowed to be chosen. No deals since then on carnival. Royal has better prices. Once I'm pinnacle I might look around some more but I was quite pleased with my carnival cruise. It was a expensive cruise though to unusual ports. Not their norm. Higher prices older crowd. 11 kids total on board. I also like mardi gras class how they offer 3 pay restaurants FREE if you book anytime dining. Chibang and the italian and a 3rd free one time. Used to offer every night but now a tiny upcharge. I ate in pay restaurants for 6 nights on carnival the time before for about $100. Royals loyalty perks are better. I like fresh squeezed oj but as you said its hit or miss. One time it was like made from oranges gone bad, sept out of season on royal. Carnival does anytime so much better. Push a button when you want to eat. Truly its anytime.
