  1. Actually the doors are closed but not locked. Anyone can go by and open them. If you are doing a b2b I've opened them and gone to my cabin. Its allowed. They just dont want everyone dropping off luggage early so it says when the doors are open. Just saying doors are not locked.
  2. Oh I know. I tried to ask specifically about bright line from miami. Then got into explaining why I'm in miami memorial weekend. I didnt mean it to for you to take offense. I'm sorry if I offended you. I wouldn't choose a holiday weekend either. I priced air2sea Thursday and friday, same price thru royal. Airline too had the same price Thursday or Friday before the holiday weekend. I looked at it and compared it every way I could find. Unless i cut rome to only one full day the flights cost the same. Flight is booked. That's why i asked ....about brightline. Nothing else. Then as you said people tried to help. Telling me to change a flight I'm locked into. Asked about how to get home from miami. I have no plans to ever do this again, and its bad timing it's a holiday weekend I'm flying back. Families are takijgnlomg weekends and maybe disney idk, but the flight decision is locked down. Just asked originally about brightline. .. then as you pointed out people are pointing out I should have or could have booked a different flight. But I didnt, I'm in miami a holiday weekend and want to get up near cape Canaveral. My TA looked at various dates and unless I dont see much of rome this is what seemed best. I didnt mean to offend you. I like you a lot and wouldnt do that on purpose. Sorry. I'm not asking about airline help. As I say its booked. Just asked how best to get home from miami. A holiday weekend when families will be travelling to florida for various vacations. Woulda shoulda coulda on the flight, I'm past that, booked into Miami. Have to get home. I sure didnt mean to step on your toes. I truly am sorry. Love your posts. You are so nice and supportive. Telling me not to ask ... I asked about how to get home from miami ... I'll go away if no one knows if brightline has sales or info about brightline. Sorry
  3. Maybe I used the wrong words. My TA suggested I book direct with the airlines. His cheapest fare to orlando memorial weekend, didnt matter which city I go thru, air2sea was over $1500. Direct meaning not booking air with royal, direct with airlines. Which is what I did. Royals other fares to orlando even higher that day. I booked direct with the airline not thru royal. Not a direct flight though my TA also suggested that. Thru royal didnt matter which usa city I connected thru it was costly. My TA suggested miami. Booked. Sorry if I confused anyone. .. now to get home from miami. Last step in planning. I'm just looking now at brightline, do they have sales or better deals or book now.
  4. Well if it takes longer to get off the plane in miami it does. My TA suggested Miami. I'm trusting his judgement I should book to miami and I do have a short stop, change of planes in madrid. The flight is booked into miami already. I've even chosen my seats on the plane, aisle seats this time. I want to be able to get up and stretch during the long flight. It was $25 extra to chose my seats so i chose. Seemed reasonable but I'm already booked into miami late may 30, memorial weekend. I'm up to how to get home may 31, saturday from miami after i spend the night. Everything is booked to miami, 4 days in rome after I get off. Excursions booked etc. Just need to get home, and was googling bright line last night.
  5. Yea I looked some more today. The 7 hours was from google. I looked at booking and lots of so called direct for 3 plus hours. I dont see any less than that. I dont know after looking at prices I think it's a good alternative to driving round trip. I'm not in orlando so I'd still need a shuttle to orlando and to the miami hub. For one way I will probably do it, but not round trip like bellas. Arzeena our TA who you probably know is the one who said orlando is not that easy or a international hub. He named off the airports that are hubs. Air2sea is indeed priced from $1510. I'm already locked in date wise. And now flying into miami friday night late, 11 pm. My hotel and 2 excursions in rome are refundable, the last excursion and airfare is not. Sisteen chappel skip the line i took a chance and airfare. Now i either take amtrak to Kissimmee or Brightline to orlando airport. Prices for brightline for the deluxe which includes luggage and snacks start $109 one way, and also can be cancelled for brightline credit but not refundable. None of the $109 rates are times I want, very late in the day. So do you all say wait for a sale or book, at least $119 one way, Saturday may 31, memorial weekend. Should I wait to book brightline? I googled discounts but none of the codes work. I'm not a teacher or anything they offer discounts for. No senior discounts. Amtrak is cheaper but I think kissimmee further to uber home from. My TA suggested booking airfare direct. Prices air2sea are high. We only priced to orlando, but he mentioned miami being a hub airport. I'm booked on the TA to barcelona, then the 10 day to rome stopped at greece. I wanted to see athens greece. Then of course its I've never been to rome, I should see rome. I'm not sure I will ever do this again, too much planning. I booked refundable a very central hotel near pantheon, tivoli and some other stuff. It's going to be a long walk to vatican stuff I booked. People on another board said HOHO buses in rome are often full and dont even stop at the busy stop where I am, bus 19 minutes to first excursion meeting point, 31 minutes to walk. And booked back to miami so gotta get home. It was either fly directly home after my cruise or see rome and run into jubilee event weekend and memorial day. This cruise is way more complicated than jumping on a Caribbean cruise. Once and done I think. Anyway I'm up to how to get home from miami. Everything else is booked. Should I book brightline now or wait. It too is not refundable. Just can cancel for future credit. I spent time this morning looking at booking options not just general googling. I'm getting into miami past 11 pm, so I'm going to spend the night. Flight leaves rome 10:30 am. I didnt want a really early flight. You have to be there too early to check in for international flights. I will be tired. Getting a hotel, and coming to orlando and shuttle home Saturday. Wait or book now for brightline?
  6. I'm flying into Miami from rome next may and need to get to orlando or port Canaveral. Any suggestions? How do you get discounts on brightline. I'm assuming you need the premium if you have luggage..
  7. Seems to me more cat pictures than dogs. I need more dog pictures. Sea dog and who else. Just kidding but cats seem to be the favorites. Tree skier that temperature sure looks good. Helen PT is hard, hope your progress and pain improve.
  8. I'm getting a education in more adventurous travel. I've mostly stuck to Caribbean. Though I've done alaska, but never done a TA. There was one from PC I thought great, signed up, then the next leg went to greece I wanted to see, signed up, then if I'm ending in rome see rome, signed up. I waited to lock in hotel until airfare came out. I was expecting $800ish rome to orlando. If I flew right home air2sea a mere $1090 lowest price, but to see rome a few day lowest price my TA said $1500. I probably wanted to book direct, but orlando isnt a international hub. Someone else said call direct, thinking that cant be the peice. Royal said lowest is $1510 goes up from there air2sea. I'd posted on roll call running into memorial weekend and a jubilee rome event. A smart aleck on my roll call who has done TAs a lot ho hum said news flash only Americans celebrate memorial day, this will be nothing special. Idk what else accounts for the price then to fly home. So I thought np book direct to miami and take bright rail high speed train to orlando, be home in a few hours right? Wrong. It's about the same as driving, 7 hours or longer, makes 16 stops. So now I'm spending a friday night memorial weekend at a miami airport hotel to shuttle to bright line the next day. I was thinking high speed train would be fast. I wasnt even that keen on seeing rome, except I will be there and getting older, my parents waited too long to travel. Things happen as we age, I thought better to see it now. It will be practice for bella3. It leaves from ft Lauderdale and I assumed bright rail would be the best way to go. Now idk. Are there better ways down to south florida? Amtrak? Coming back from rome, no car, cant drive. Got hotels, excursions and a flight to miami all booked. Seems I need a hotel in miami and figure what is best way to get up to PC from miami now. I'm sure going to be tired when I get home.
  9. Interesting. Free wifi which I'd use. I saw it as a excursion but not this site. I need it 2 days but not 2 days in a row. Thanks. I hate doing these maps and stuff. Its like pulled teeth. That's why I cruise so I dont have to do the planning. Just choose excursions at ports. The free wifi at least i could track on google maps. I do have a 2.5 hour walking tour Wednesday starts at 3:30 which to me runs kinda late. I wanted to see the parthenon and tivoli and it ends at a interesting bldg, the name escapes me. Might be similar to your nigntime tour. It goes to places I can walk to from my hotel but it's a small group and I assume includes tickets to get in. I did want to see the parthenon. Says small group up to 25 and we will walk to all 3 places. I figured cant hurt to have a tour guide. That one easy to get to. Thanks for the link. Arm twisted I'm determined to figure this out and make it work.
  10. I already got it. I copied and pasted someone else who was wrong. Just surprised by how young she looks compared to other captains. That's what I get for copy and pasting what someone else posted.
  11. How did you buy your HOHO pass. I just need transportation tuesday and thursday. Did you buy daily pass as a excursion or how did you use HOHO. Lol as in where do I start to plan how to get to the 2 start points. Via via and back to hotel.
  12. I dont even know where to start. So I need to get the address of my hotel albergo santa chiara hotel and put it into google. Tuesday and Thursday I think I might need a bus, but idk. I have to be to that first stop, that you or someone suggested I see, tour starts from there. Says it's near the train station. Ends at st John's I need to get back at the hotel. Is it walkable? From the hotel need to be here before 9 am tiesday. How do I start to find my way around? Via Santa Cliara 21, Rome. RM,186 Italy is this the address to put into google of HOHO Meeting point Papal Basilica of Saint Mary Major, P.za di Santa Maria Maggiore, 00100 Roma RM, Italy Start time 9:00 AM Google worked lol 19 minutes by bus
  13. Yes specifically I downloaded the menu for wonder lunch. Didnt know if they were different. There arent a lot of ships with hooked.
  14. I just downloaded the lunch menu yesterday. I see lobster sandwiches but no surf n turf.
  15. Pretty easy look below your cabin and dont book over the bsr or karaoke place. I've booked deck 6 so I just have to run down or up 1 flight to get there, but my TA puts me where the bar isnt below me. Or do deck 7 or 8. I've never had a noise issue and done them maybe 6 times.
  16. Lol I still have a tracfone. I dont use gps which is why I'm worried. I just gave up my landline when I moved a few weeks ago. I use wifi and map stuff out beforehand. Take screenshots of the directions and write them down on paper. It does look like the vatican is 30 to 45 minutes away on my hotel map but if I walk I'm not going to want to spend 3 hours in the sisteen chappel looking at displays and Vatican museums. Lol I'll be hungry too. I dont know if I'm allowed to bring some food bars in to eat while I'm there. I dont know much of anything. Just giving up my landline was a big deal, first time I'm on a cell phone only. People are yelling at me for not answering lol. And havent set up messages. So yea this is going to be hard to catch buses and do stuff. Meet at meeting points. Worse comes to worse if no uber than taxi? Tuesday I need to get to that place mentioned above before 9 am. Says near the train station. I choose a hotel where it says i could walk to most things but now have 2 vatican type things scheduled. It's just way more than I originally planned on taking on. The TA left from port Canaveral where I just moved near by, so I jumped on it. Then next leg went to 2 ports in greece so I jumped on that too, then people said if you are in rome see rome, so now I'm adding it. I'm Irish I'd love to see Ireland, rome wasnt on my list. Lol.
  17. Oh I sailed on the grand princess myself. And caribbean princess. I wish lines would not all choose the same names. Now when someone says adventure I'd have to ask which one. Royal also has a adventure.
  18. The guy who came out looked everywhere for cables for internet and coukdnt find them. He knocked the door off the track to the hot water heater and didnt put it back still leaning against the water heater. He couldnt find any cables inside so he didnt know where they came in. I dont think I have another device or know how to plug one directly into the router which now is behind a very tall wall unit. I too suspect too many people on the same bandwidth. And it's off season, if that's it wait for high season its sure to get worse. It's just like 10 seconds or less, but if I dont see the thing pop up you are currently offline and keep going I get wierd results. This is a account thru spectrum bulk account dept. It seems to be very common for condos here to all provide spectrum. My small condo is in a different little city cape Canaveral and it also has a bulk account. If I call I have to call and ask for bulk dept. 10 seconds isnt a big inconvenience but it's annoying.
  19. I've been knocked offline twice tonight. Its only seconds but annoying. Not enough to dislike living here, just annoying to keep being knocked offline, then wait wait wait and it says my connection has been restored.
  20. I still will have to learn to get around. Santa Maria Majorie tour that came up includes transfer which will save me hours of walking. Lol. To me that says I will have to find my way to that spot and at the end back to the hotel from st John's. St Peter's in between. Sisteen chappel also i have to meet at a meet up spot and exchange the voucher for tickets. Seems it cant be avoided, i will have to find my way around to do tours, so that seems like the next step. I'd hoped I could walk but now 2 tours are probably further to get to than walking. When you have never been it does seem complicated. I need a travel partner for stuff like this. I have a walking tour on Wednesday I reread and it doesnt end until 6 pm. Parthenon, tivoli and ends at piazza navona which is quite close to my hotel. Says dont bring large purse, bags, or back pack and slow the group down at security. I hope my purse is ok, I'd rather keep money and stuff with me. 6 pm sounds kinda late, I hope it's not dark then. I do think rome is taking more planning than I anticipated. Saying you will be in rome anyway, you should see something of rome sounds easy but the tours do add complications. Buses? I really hope not to have to learn the buses and streets there, but seems it cant be avoided. Every step I take requires something else to learn or do. Ending in miami, either get a hotel or tackle bright rail train to orlando airport at midnight. I was able to choose aisle seats on the flight to miami for $25. Gets in 11:07 pm. I didnt want a early morning flight. I'd get no sleep the night before in order to check in early for a international flight. Leaving mid morning. There would be no reason I decided to care if the hotel has a airport shuttle. By 11 pm, it would be shut down. Not sure it's a cost savings to fly into miami, but less money risked on a nonrefundable flight. I'm betting I'll be tired after that long flight, so now I have to decide about a hotel for the night or come on home. 10 or 20 years ago I'd have come on home. Being older I've slowed down. Bright rail is fast but travelling when I'm beat and carrying cash is a risk. We leave from PC. So easy until rome. Something to be said for cruises not land vacations iv decided. Rome seems a lot to tackle when I'm solo.
  21. I think I got a email where I could check off things like beds pushed together. I didnt email, they emailed me. Maybe if you get that before your cruise.
  22. I put the name into google and a tour came up for $65 says includes transfers. 3 hour tour at 9 am. Refundable. So worth $65? Ok I see now where it meets. Dont know where that is, but I'll google it or ask the hotel. The other 2 dont say I could find but this one says. I'm doing a walking tour including the pantheon on Wednesday.. i really only care about the pantheon as imo i expect to have already walked to see tivoli and some other things possibly before Wednesday, I planned to walk to there and spanish steps and look for all those bistros where people said to eat. Ok I'll bite. Sounds reasonable. The vatican sounds very difficult to figure out booking. Monday I'll walk around and eat. Small group of like minded lol. I dont know what like minded I am, but booked.
  23. I asked my cousin if I could just unplug the router. I dont know why he put it in a far corner of the back bedroom. Not another plug socket? It's done this more than a few times. It will show me a old email and I'll think I havent heard from this person in a long time .. turns out when it goes offline it picks up a old email, just like it picked up a old post. It's ok within 5 seconds, resets but has caused some wierd things like old emails to come up. I dont want to have to call them back out here. I've already called right after he installed it went offline, but then fixed itself. Spectrum said they will leave the ticket open. Too many of us on the same line. I just dont know enough to guess.
  24. Google has this, I tried to copy and paste but wouldn't let me so i circled it. Hooked also excluded hmm. Not sure izumi in the park is. But hibachi listed as excluded. I had trouble with wonderland on harmony, dont see it listed as excluded.
