  1. My question is still about the more than two entrees. I remember reading the live report which was not specific about what was charged or for how many entrees. I am still hoping for someone with actual experience to give a clear answer.
  2. Have you actually experienced the $5 for each additional entree, or are you interpreting from what the menu says, "A surcharge of $5 for second entree or more applies." That is clearly unclear. It can easily be interpreted as one surcharge total for seconds or more, or each additional has a surcharge. I read the whole other thread on this, and no one had first hand experience with the charge which is why I am asking.
  3. The way the new extra entree charge info on menus is written is confusing. It seems like it's a one time $5 charge for any additional entrees. Or, are they charging $5 for EACH entree ordered after the first? Also, anyone have experience with ordering an entree and also ordering an additional entree but as a starter portion? Does that incur the charge?
  4. If using the thermal spa area and being able to pick what time you eat each night are worth the price difference than it may be worth it. You should check how much a spa pass would cost to see if there is any savings on that by booking Aurea.
  5. While hand washing/sanitizing is an excellent idea in general, Covid is rarely if ever caught by touching something with the virus on it. Flu and the common cold transmit that way, and thank goodness covid has not morphed into that type of transmission or things woulda been sooooo much worse. Even noro can withstand alcohol based hand sanitizer.
  6. You may be able to find a way to put your card info in by using the app. Can't remember for sure but think it was part of the profile. Don't know how many days out it was there because DH put the info in 20 days before sailing. He was also able to extend charging privileges to my account.
  7. I have gotten three email offers. The second was higher than the first. The most recent was lower than the first.
  8. The reason for the long line is that lots of people are doing self assist. Once that line starts moving it moves quickly. Staff is not checking to see if you are leaving at your assigned time. But luggage is set out in the customs hall according to those times. So if you have an assigned time and go early, odds are you will be waiting around the customs hall. That can look pretty sketch and prompt a longer more in-depth interaction with the custom agents and is probably not a good idea. If your cruise has visited a port outside the USA, you will be clearing customs. Many ports have facial recognition which makes things quicker for most people. Otherwise a customs agent will look at your ID and maybe ask a few questions.
  9. How does one take advantage of the voyagers gold 10% off WiFi perk? I was hoping to purchase a plan before the cruise but don't see how to, or if I can apply the discount. Also how do we use the 1 hour spa pass? Do we need a reservation? When the hour is up does the spa police kick us out of the thalassotherapy pool?
  10. Do you need to have a WiFi plan to use the app?
  11. Nope. One asterisk is the undercooked meat warning. The $5 surcharge has two asterisks corresponding to the two asterisks next to the word entrees.
  12. Drama party of one your table is ready. Please stop posting this same exaggeration every time someone says the water is safe. Don't you think if what you are saying is what's truly coming out of faucets except in the obviously one time it happened, that you wouldn't be the only one saying it. It isn't right to try to scare people when in reality cruise ship water is cleaner, purer and safer than many people's home water. Guess I should never drink water in my home since once a year when hydrants are flushed it gets a little brown for a few gallons.
  13. Keep in mind that the dining plan is quite limiting of what is included without additional cost.
  14. Heavy whipping cream is a common ingredient any galley should have. Ask the waiter (or your butler) for it. Do be prepared for some confusion due to language barriers and cultural customs.
  15. Lol I should have added not fond of veal or lamb either. There are many daily YC menus that I cannot find something I like other than the always available things, and that will get old quickly. The MDR menus however often have multiple things I would like. I'm used to NCL Haven where they will get you anything you want as long as it's available somewhere at that time.
  16. Not a seafood fan, and am intrigued by many of the MDR menu offerings. Would I be able to have food from the MDR served to me in the yacht club restaurant?
  17. Everything I have read about WiFi on MSC has talked about not being able to log out and switch devices, to the point of people going to the IT staff and asking them to do that and being told no. Is WiFi working like all the other cruise lines do it with logging on and off as you have described only a Meraviglia thing?
  18. Um not sure what sex therapists have to do with "woke activities." Check out what Merriam Webster defines as "woke," and since you are so off, you may want to not use that term. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/woke
  19. Ask your room steward when you meet them. There's really no way to request this before boarding.
  20. The salt is completely removed from the drinking water on the ship. You are swelling from all the salt in the food. At home if you ate three meals a day at a restaurant for a week, you would swell from all that salt as well.
  21. Who knows what they are thinking with regards to bid minimums. For our cruise the minimum bid from balcony to YC keeps going up and the number of cabins available in that category also keeps going up. Do they think we are stupid enough to not notice availability is increasing and just think....oh my the minimum is going up...I better bid now. Lol.
  22. That cannot be a recent freestyle or a review of an NCL cruise. NCL NEVER has an evening dress code for the whole ship. The dress code quoted above from the NCL site is accurate. You could even skip the collated shirt and wear a tee shirt with your shorts in any dining room other than le bistro, the seafood restaurant and the one MDR that is smart casual each night (and depending on the ship they often don't require smart casual in any MDR.)
  23. Sea lice season is from March through August and I know of people who were so affected by them at GSC that they will never visit that beach again. Is there some evidence that your issue was bed bugs?
  24. Actually it is time as well as temperature that says when food gets discarded. This is from another topic here. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2935332-well-this-is-disconcerting…/page/7/#comment-65406577 Posted May 19 No, the USPH uses temperature control when food is held/prepared in something where the temperature can be monitored/guaranteed, like a "hot box" warming cabinet, or a reach in refrigerator. Once it goes out of temperature control, even if a hazardous food goes into the "hazard temperature zones", by discarding at the 4 hour mark, the potential for toxin growth is not great enough to present a hazard. And, once a food has gone into "time control", even if the food is not placed on the buffet line until just before closing (say 5-10 minutes), it can never go back under temperature control (meaning it has to be discarded, and not put back into a refrigerator or warming box
  25. Your chances of winning a bid are really quite low unless you are willing to bid high. Even then, so much goes into the process that you still are not even close to being guaranteed to win. If you can afford it, definitely just upgrade to the haven. Being in the haven will make it so much easier and more comfortable for everyone in your party for all the reasons you have talked about.
