  1. From the conversation, I assume anyone at 1mb or lower is on basic, and anyone getting a higher speed is on premium. I guess they know that 1mb is good enough for web and email traffic, and lock it down there. I will have it because I do need to keep in touch with my work, but these prices are outrageous for what you are getting.
  2. Is this on the app or the website? I can't find a Cruise Planner on the website at all. I assumed it would be under manage reservation, but don't see anything about payment or OBC anywhere. Can you be more specific? Does it only show up after final payment or something?
  3. Thanks for that. We are the same. Go to few shows and just like to go back to the cabin and relax. I will bring some dvds and download some Netflix offline stuff. We love the options on Princess.
  4. Where do you see the obc online? I booked one, and know there was Celebrity obc, but I don't see it. Where is it in the online account?
  5. So you can't see OBC from the cruise line on your booking online either?
  6. I always tipped for room service, but removing the perk of getting food delivered from the DR stinks. I hate the directions cruise lines are going these days.
  7. Finally got search to give me some results, so I have the answer to this. Wouldn't let me edit the question. This, to me, is a sad change.
  8. I have a couple of Equinox questions if I may. What kind of on demand TV options in your room, do they have seasons of sitcoms, a selection of movies, etc? We cruise on Princess a lot and really like all the various options. Also, someone who responded to a comment I made on the Princess forums says that Celebrity has changed and now room service has a charge 24/7? And you can no longer order form the MDR menu for room service? Is that true?
  9. We are too in October. We went on Infinity last year and it was nice, but one of the oldest ships, and not refurbished. We booked one FCD and are using it now. I find all cruise lines have jacked up prices tremendously on any packages they offer, but Celebrity is still higher than Princess. And their wifi is terrible generally speaking, but I hope with starlink it will be better, but not seeing that on the celebrity forums. Last year on Infinity, you could order room service for no charge, and order from the DR menu, which was nice. We did it twice. If they have removed those, that will be a huge bummer. I was hoping Princess would offer that, a great perk that costs them nothing, so yeah, they won't do that.
  10. Interesting. I'm going to have to check on those. Thanks!
  11. I agree, to each his own on that. Whatever works for each couple is what they should do.
  12. I wouldn't say "a long way" behind, but it is cheaper than Celebrity in all ways still. But with all the recent jumps in price on virtually everything, they have certainly learned how to make more by providing nothing more. And if I'm not wrong, Celebrity only charges for room service from 11pm till 5am or something, so it's not a charge 24 hours. Unless that has recently changed. One thing I do like about Celebrity, is you can order from the DR menu and have it delivered. Would be nice if Princess did the same.
  13. There are some items that are available in both, but prepared a little differently. We haven't been to a DR in 15 cruises now. We just don't see the need. It used to take upwards of 2 hours to have the dinner, and we just saw it as a waste of time. We have pretty much always found plenty of what we like in the buffet and can be in and out in 30 minutes. That's our preference. We used to go to Crown Grill twice a week, but haven't done that either in a long time. And the recent cost increase will keep it that way.
  14. Side question to this. If you go to a specialty restaurant on embarkation day evening, could a man wear shorts? What if your luggage isn't delivered to your room prior to your reservation? Had this happen once on Princess, and no problem.
  15. Can you still order from the DR menu to deliver to your room at night?
  16. Can anyone comment on if the TVs have some on demand programming or not? I did read in other threads that carrying on soda for embarkation and at ports was allowed, so now mainly curious if the TV has on demand content, or do I need to bring my own. Thanks!
  17. Thanks, I see that now. If you select one device, can you switch between multiple devices, but not both at the same time? That is how Princess does it, you just have to log out of one and into the other. Or if you add two devices, you just log into each one with the information the ship gives you for logging in, and you can use any devices you have, just log out and into a different one? I will have my phone, tablet, and work laptop, but would only need one at a time to be online.
  18. Am I the only person that thinks the price for either basic or premium wifi is outrageous? Premium is $30/day for one device, and basic is $17/day for one device. On the Infinity last fall, and the basic was barely good enough to read emails. I hope it's better with starlink. At least make basic useful for reading email or teams style messaging, etc. Also, on my online account on Celebrity's website, it says "save even more on multiple devices", but it's not giving me the option to add multiple devices (unless you have to click "reserve", which I'm hesitant to do till I know for sure. How do you pre purchase a multi device package on the website?
  19. Yep, us too. We took on 3 packs of drinks and didn't buy any package and it was fine for us, and our new norm. $15 vs $500, I'll take every time.
  20. You have to get something for paying the prices for plus and premier. I guess a couple of $1 desserts make up for the $450 7 day cruise cost for drinks.
  21. I just booked, and went to look at wifi on the app, and see that the price has doubled. These kinds of increases, are going to cause me to rethink my vacation type in the future. I have a Celebrity cruise booked as well, and as high as Princess is now on everything onboard (drinks/packages, wifi, etc), Celebrity is even higher still.
  22. So, Celebrity does allow you to bring on drinks purchased in port (non alcoholic), and you can take it to your room with no issue?
  23. One more question regarding the inside rooms on Equinox, were they updated when it was refurbished in 2019? Not just the TV's but other areas of the room/bathroom?
  24. That was my experience on Infinity last year. Basic internet should be enough for emails and images in emails to display. On Infinity, I could read emails, but not open attachments or even see peoples signature lines with images. That's pretty ridiculous. And if I'm on the website, looking at the right information, the premium over the basic is $15/day higher, is that per user? If so, that is super expensive. One thing I like about Princess is that the internet is usable and affordable. Anyway, still wondering about TV options and what soda/water you can bring onboard with you. On Princess, you could bring on whatever you wanted. I guess a side question would be, can you buy soda/water in ports and bring it back on and take it to your cabin? That would work too.
