  1. Meaning what, that the grounding prong is an issue? It needs to be a 2 prong only? This is only a extension cord with more than one head on it. Perhaps just a single only, and then get a separate plug to go into it?
  2. I've seen this posted before. Any issue with just a basic extension cord that doesn't have any surge protection? I need a plug by the bed for a CPAP machine, and unless there are ones by the bed, I have to string one across the room. And while I know I can request one, I prefer to travel with my own. I know where it's been. Just a simple one like this would be fine? https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Basics-6-Foot-3-Prong-Extension/dp/B07BHSH7M6/ref=sr_1_11_ffob_sspa?crid=2DV250SE3KRWW&keywords=extension+cord&qid=1689356316&sprefix=extension+cord%2Caps%2C116&sr=8-11-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9tdGY&psc=1
  3. They never enforced them, so doubt it will change for anyone.
  4. Can you just take a HDMI cable and connect between the TV and your laptop and switch to that source and play whatever you have saved on your laptop such as movies, or netflix, etc? This is assuming you have premium wifi since basic won't even let you read emails.
  5. I'm not happy they are switching honestly. We always had good internet on all our previous cruises with Princess. Celebrity has starlink, and it's been poor to below average most of the time. This is not hard. Provide enough bandwidth to the ship to handle the needs of it's employees and customers. Don't throttle just to save some cost. You are charging an arm and a leg now for internet, give people what they need to function.
  6. Older ships are generally cheaper than the newest/fanciest/biggest. I generally prefer the older ships when possible.
  7. This is all cruise lines. The promotions are virtually the same from change to change if you step back and look at it closely.
  8. We were on her last October, and while old and fairly small, the ship was in good shape, and the staff was great.
  9. Well, for me personally, I think they are all out of whack when I compare them to just the cost of tips/wifi (which are high in and of themselves - mostly wifi), and I choose to either buy drinks individually, or just bring what I want to drink onboard with me at embarkation or ports (non alcoholic I mean, not sure if they will let you take alcohol onboard if they are paying attention to it). We cruise mostly with Princess, and their prices are cheaper than Celebrity, although not by a whole lot anymore, and I don't do it with them either. It is however, an individual choice, no different than buying a car at the current marked up prices. People want them, and buy them and that is their choice.
  10. I did not, sorry for the confusion. I thought maybe you were referring to how this is good for those who don't buy the packages. What I meant by that was packages are a huge profit stream for the cruise lines right now, and they are marketing them like crazy, and it's obviously working and people are happy with them. For me, as someone who does not pay for them, I think it's keeping the cruise only cost down a bit, so to me it's a win/win/win for all involved.
  11. Whether or not it makes sense to me or anyone else, some people just like the convenience of being "paid in full" and not getting a bill for drinks, etc at the end of the cruise. I don't really get it myself, but it helps the cruise line, and might also help keep cruise pricing down, so it benefits those of us who do not, so it's a win/win for everyone.
  12. Reread my post. I said a lot of people just simply don't like the nickel and diming., You literally agreed with my post in your response.
  13. They do on the app, but it's overall just a suggestion. They are not checking.
  14. The answer is no. If you don't mind the effort, you can bring soft drinks and water onboard at embarkation and at ports for your needs. That is what we do.
  15. People pay for these packages without any thought to what it is actually costing them. They enjoy that they are not being "nickel and dimed", and are willing to pay for it. It's good for the cruise line, and good for those of us who don't.
  16. Just bring some on at embarkation and/or a port you visit. That's what we do.
  17. Do you know if you can just connect a HDMI cable between a computer and the TV and project something like Netflix or other streaming services to the TV?
  18. Can I ask a question? We board in October, and like to hang out in our room and watch TV or movies in the evenings after a show. We normally sail Princess which has lots of on demand TV shows and movies to choose from. I have posted in threads, and people have commented that Celebrity and the Equinox does have some on demand programming to choose from, but no one gives me any examples. Do they have either series or shows to watch? A decent amount of movies of various categories to watch?
  19. I have a side question. I have a final payment due next week. If I pay it, and prepay gratuities as part of that payment, do I get the old rate or the new rate?
  20. Cruise lines have learned that price increases in any way is not impacting sales, so why not? If a loyal customer stops sailing, their spot will be taken by a new cruiser. In fact, that probably saves the cruise line money if there are still any loyalty benefits worth any money left. This is the new way, and will not change until ships start sailing empty.
  21. We are personally very disappointed in the change from the Royal/Regal to the Sky and others on the retreat pool. It's like being down in a hole with very few chairs and not open at all. I dislike it and as a result we mostly try to book Royal/Regal when possible.
