  1. As I have mentioned in previous posts, the OP and others on the first page were discussing 40 minutes. If 20 minutes, 30 minutes, or 40 minutes is the "rule", then how that time spent shouldn't matter to anyone on why someone is not in their chair. Swimming, eating, bathrooms, etc. Not sure why the activity would matter if the time frame that is allowed is met.
  2. We are around 40 days out and no arrival group option yet
  3. I have had them accepted 200 days out, and rejected more than 90 days out. I usually wait anymore till about 60 days out.
  4. Typically 1pm, but possibly earlier. Often you can drop your bag even if your room is not ready, but they will tell you.
  5. I'm not 100% certain if this has changed, but it used to be that you couldn't book the sanctuary till you were onboard. I'm sure someone can give better input. As far as your comment about formal nights, a jacket is fine, you are not required to wear a tuxedo (or jacket for that matter)
  6. They call it excursion credit, but it's simply OBC you can use as you like.
  7. Unless you drink a lot, you might be best not to get the plus and just book standard and buy whatever drinks you want.
  8. Thank you. I was beginning to think I'd gone mad. To even think to me that any of these activities would be considered chair hogging to anyone blows my mind. 1. Getting up from your chair for any reason 2. Getting up from your chair to go into the pool 3. Getting up from your chair to go to the bathroom 4. Getting up from your chair to go to get something to eat 5. Getting up from your chair to stretch your legs 6. Getting up from your chair to go to the bar and get a drink 7. Getting up from your chair and returning within a reasonable amount of time to do any of the above, a combination of any of the above, or something not listed above.
  9. Entitlement to a chair I'm gone from for a few minutes to use the bathroom, get a burger and drink? Yeah, I'm a chair hog. You got me.
  10. I can't believe I'm having to type this to an adult. If I am at the pool on a lounger and I go to get a burger or slice of pizza for lunch and come back, I should not have to lose my chair. You can't be serious.
  11. Not sure if you intended this as a joke, but once they figure out how to do it, this will happen.
  12. Ah, thanks. I was thinking the discussion was about adding this stuff from the app. That makes sense.
  13. I guess we will have to agree to disagree. Normally we put our stuff on chairs and drink our coffee if the weather is good, then go eat, then back to the cabin to change and back to our chairs. Might take 30 minutes. I think that is totally fine, and I think most people do as well. To me a chair hog is someone who puts their belongings on a chair and then are gone for 1+ hour not showing up at all. If I'm in my chair, and then go to the pool, the grill/buffet, the bathroom and promptly return to my chair, that is not a chair hog.
  14. Agree 100%. It's one thing to be in and out of your chair regularly than to throw a towel on and show up at 1pm.
  15. For me, it's usually walking, but people go to the gym and come back in 40 minutes is no different. 40 minutes is 40 minutes regardless of how it's used. I'm no chair hog. My wife and I claim our chairs, are back within 30 minutes, then are in and our of our chairs all day for no longer than 30 minutes, whether that's to get in the pool, go eat, etc.
  16. Please tell me this is a joke. 40 minutes is fair, 20 minutes is too sort to be able to leave your chair, go get food from pizza to buffet and a drink, eat, and then get back to your chair. I never mentioned dinner, just leaving to eat and coming back. Not to mention people who are in the pool the whole time. Common sense needs to be used.
  17. If you don't do the plus play, but want to add wifi and a drink package and pay for it prior to boarding, is that possible? I thought I read on this thread that you could, but looking at my cruise in December and I don't see anyplace on the app to add any kind of purchased services?
  18. I think 40 is about right. 20 is too short. I can't make my way into the buffet and eat and back in 20 minutes. 40 minutes allows you to go exercise, eat something and return. I think that is more than fair.
  19. If they don't give you one, ask the room steward, often they have some stored away for those who ask.
  20. Great. We were on 10 days in the spring and I guess I didn't even notice that it was $5 instead of $10. That is good news for sure. Makes the plus package even worth less if you don't drink. I will have to pay more attention, lol..
  21. Okay, I think I missed something. Elite gets the wifi at $5/day? Is that new or has it always been that way? And you have to purchase it pre cruise if you didn't book the plus package?
