Well, this is even weirder because I checked just now and a bunch of cabins are open. Maybe people didn’t make their final payment? He said the person he spoke with verified mine was the last cabin. Now I’m going to look to see what is available.

Hey, everyone! Yesterday, I booked my son and me on a group friends cruise out of New Orleans on January 2, 2023. 6 nights western Caribbean. It was stressful as heck on the website— very glitchy, so I called the group’s cruise travel agent. It turns out, I literally got THE LAST cabin. (A balcony for 2 for right under 2K 😳) The cruise is now sold out. That is insane. I kinda forgot about the invite to take the cruise and my son called to remind me because it’s his friend‘s family who planned it. Anyway, finally payment was due etc and the TA did verify it was the last cabin available. Lido deck, forward, but a balcony which is what we wanted. Don’t you all think the last person who books should get a cookie or something? Lol

I gather you don’t have trip insurance?

Definitely my favorite class of ship. We sailed Fantasy as our first try on carnival and out of NOLA to see if the kids liked if and then elation later.

I would make sure I buy trip insurance if I am taking a cruise in the n3ext 2 years that covers getting back home if the cruise line goes bankrupt. Etc.

I happen to be in NorCal at my sister’s house and my BIL told me you all don’t have a DL app yet. That is a shame because it’s fantastic, especially for things like this.

What is your itinerary? Can you catch up with the ship at the first port? Does the cruise leave today?

Does your state have a virtual DL? Like Louisiana has La Wallet which has your DL on it and it’s a legal ID

I loved it. Especially on dream class where deck 5 is lit up like NYC. The cove balconies are below that, so less light intrusion and closer to the water. It’s a yes for me

My sister was a dog sitter the last week of august 2005 (Katrina). She evacuated to my house with 8 animals and it took 11 hours to go what should have been a few hours. That was fun.

Holland America had no weed smell on my Alaska cruise last week. I found that interesting. Every carnival ship I have sailed on smelled of weed a plenty…. I don’t mind though. As others mentioned, I’d rather that than the drunks

Thanks again! I’m back and I had a great time, highly recommend and will do again! There were many solos on the cruise and I would see them everywhere (benefits of a smaller ship). We ate together at the solo lunch and then hung around for other meals etc. I also did plenty by myself. I can wait for the next one.

I just got off Westerdam and you will likely be the only one. Even on gala night, people were dressed to the bare minimum standards. I barely saw any women wearing dresses. It was a super casual cruise.
