  1. I get more than 4.😀🍹 Been cruising for over 35 years. M
  2. I don't use all I receive. No reason not to have a nice cup of coffee. There are plenty left for a martini. M
  3. In my experience, the baristas seem knowledgeable. M
  4. If you are Diamond, Diiamond plus, or Pinnacle, you will be Elite on Celebrity. You can go onto the Celebrity website and see their Elite benefits. They are different from Royal Caribbean. You will need to contact Celebrity to set up a captains club account. m
  5. Why not. Every cognac is a brandy, but not all brandy is a cognac. For me, this is a situation when a knowledgeable sales staff comes in handy. m
  6. Wear what you want but………. I thought the SUGGESTED attire was an example of what to wear in each category. Not a suggestion to wear formal, casual etc. m
  7. Thank you for your incredibly comprehensive review. You gave terrific details and examples. The quoted section was perhaps was my favorite paragraph. The times I’ve been in D lounge or upper tier lunch, it seems many just sit there and complain. m
  8. Yup. Most use the word “champagne” as a generic term regardless of where it is produced. I’ve been guilty if that myself. Cheers! m
  9. Moet (LVMH) makes Chandon (Domain Chandon). They make several Chandons in various regions of the world. Of course they are all sparkling wine as opposed to Champagne. m
  10. Joking? Knock off? Moet produces Chandon. m
  11. We received the same note and a bottle of the super cheap (Le Duc or something like that) sparkling wine on a few cruises at the return to sailing. it was a nice gesture, but we don’t care for it so we gave it away on board. m
  12. Has happened to us, though not often. Here is a photo of the letter received last month (mid May) on Mariner. It does say “dinner on day one or day two only”. Luckily most ships are not strict about that portion of the letter. We were able to pay for the dinner on the second night but not go till later in the cruise, even though the letter states otherwise m
  13. Just be prepared that occasionally you may be told that you MUST dine the first or second night. Happens occasionally, but not often. We may ask the second day (if someone else is at the podium, or even at a different restaurant ) and get a different answer. m
  14. I do a lower salt diet. I ask them to leave off gravies, sauces etc from item. Be prepared for some sorry looking meals especially fish. And you can often see that the meal is overcooked. They use sauces and gravies to cover the food to make it more appetizing. Occasionally I might get the sauce on the side, but rarely. If I order eggs for breakfast, I don't get scrambled, but get a more custom poached, fried etc. so that I know it is not part of a pre made pre seasoned batch. No problem with the new menus. If in a specialty restaurant where food is cooked to order, I ask that no extra salt be used in the preparation of the steaks, veggies, etc. Easy request. I don't ask for any other low/no salt foods or a specific low sodium, menu and don't know what is available. Years ago, they did offer to make me a no salt onion soup but that was only for the broth. The cheese was the same. M
  15. Even cheaper, as I ordered a can of soda. m
  16. We’ve been getting 2 each regardless of cruise length. Had 2 on a four night and 2 on an eight night. Same ship. I’ll go out on a limb and say that C&A level doesn’t matter, unless it is a reverse benefit. m
  17. I have used a daily drink voucher for a can of club soda. I’m sorry, I don’t know the brand. You can also use the voucher for San Pellegrino sparkling water You can bring a 12 pack of non-alcoholic beverage on board. Many ports require you to carry on, not put it in your luggage. m
  18. And that is another reason why I use a daily drink voucher and often get the coffee at the coffee bar. I want decaf coffee. OR-to be sure, I often just take a decaf tea bag (either I bring my own or get them on board, and have a cup of decaf tea. That way, I know what I’m getting. m
  19. Skorts are OK as long as the skirt portion is not long/flowy which could tangled up in her zip line landing. If she is planning to ice skate on board (Not sure of your ship) she will need long pants. Have fun M
  20. Agreed. I keep hearing how happy folks are that there is an RCCL club. I hope they are still happy and utilize the option once they learn the fees. M
  21. Beautiful area. Please come back and vacation in SC. Wear whatever you want to dinner. M
  22. Neither have I. We live in SC and also own a beach/ocean front rental condo in North Mrytle beach. The prices they are getting make the cruise ship look like a bargain. The management company set the price of our one-bedroom condo at $350-$450 per night (summer rates) and of course this doesn't include any food, entertainment, transportation to islands, etc. It is better for us to take a summer cruise (we have a 7 night in July planned) than to take our condo off the rental market for us to spend a week there in season. I'm thrilled ( as an owner) that folks are willing to spend that much $$ to visit the South Carolina beaches. I don't care what they wear to dinner or what they are called. However, making a derogatory blanket statement is not a good idea. M

  24. Wonder how many will be happy with this alternative, once the prices are announced. It WON'T be free or even cheap. Space will be somewhat limited, when a few RCCL ships are in port. I suspect it to be in line (at least) with Coco Cay Beach Club prices. M
