  1. I’d risk the college kids in march, presidents week is very popular here for family vacations, many college students chose cheaper options with friends, there are many college students under the age of 21 who chose destinations with lower drinking ages, for cheaper.
  2. Your excursion credit is for excursions, it’s not obc to be used for anything, like the spa. You will get the credit only after the excursion completed.
  3. If you take the FAS udp ($21 a day) you can bring on unlimited wine without paying corkage. Otherwise, it’s still cheaper to buy your own and pay corkage.
  4. On every NCL ship I’ve been in with my kids, they’ve been told to keep on walking in the casino (unfortunately a lot of their ships have casinos as walk through areas). Pretty much shorts allowed everywhere. As for infants, I’m guessing they are very strict with the 6 month rule, since a birth certificate or passport is required. No way to do that with a pregnancy (although I’m baffled how that would upset another passenger).
  5. And I’m sure charge them handsomely. You also need permission to solicit outside of businesses as well.
  6. You can bring luggage on Amtrak, if you need a red cap for assistance just ask (and tip).
  7. lol it is strange! We arrive between 9 - 9:30. Fortunately we are all able bodied and can manage luggage, so I’ve never question it, so many have resorted back that they were able to drop off people/luggage, but not our family (we squeeze 7 of us and our luggage in a minivan).
  8. We’ve never circled around (that would take forever) we’ve never been allowed to drop folks/luggage off at the parking gate where the dogs are, and we’ve never seen a porter (although we have used porters to bring our luggage to our vehicle for a nice tip, so I know it’s possible). ETA we always head to a MDR for lunch.
  9. The 4 NCL balcony cabins I’ve been in have had a sofa bed for the 3rd passenger.
  10. I’m guessing Ubers would be cheaper than a bus.
  11. For whatever reason, there are some who refuse to acknowledge that NCL employees booking cruises tell parents it’s perfectly fine sleeping in separate cabins from their minor children, instruct them to go to guest services and get extra key cards. It’s so bizarre.
  12. And obviously this poster has no clue, NCL is happy to put a minor in with someone 21+, and will give you extra keys at guest services after you board, they do it all of the time. When you book they will tell you to get extra keys after boarding.
  13. I think your best bet is yo learn how to use Uber/lyft, it’s really very simple and a good resource to have when traveling.

You can go yo the casino and the marina, everything else will require a pass. You used to be able to but a pass to the aquarium. You can’t go on the beach or by the water park.
  15. There are some ships where pants are required for everyone 12+ in the more formal dining room.
  16. Just for fun, try and book 2 cabins with 2 minors, you will be told by the ncl representative that you need to book someone 21 or over in each cabin, but to go to guest services and get additional keys made ncl doesn’t care where people sleep. Just because you don’t want it to be this way doesn’t mean that this isn’t the way it actually works. Virgin is calling your name….
  17. The mdr’s have always been closed for lunch on port days on all of my ncl cruises.
  18. The reason is the bigger the dining package, the cheaper each meal is. If they could be shared, I could buy a dining package for 8 nights for myself, and hand them out to my 7 family members, and each would be significantly cheaper than if we paid for each meal oop. So there is no sharing, even if it just 4 dinners. NCL would rather you purchase specialty dining for the 2 who don’t have it than let you share.
  19. They can’t be transferred, you would have to pay for them.
  20. We’ve taken several cruises from nyc to the Bahamas, 3 times in November, once in may, used the balcony a lot. We have a large wrap around porch here at home, if it’s over 60 we are happy to sit out there.
  21. One of my favorite things I use the balcony for it at night, put on my pajamas and sit out there, so peaceful.
  22. Actually you need to use a glass to transfer the beverage to the personal mug (there are signs). We do it all of the time.
  23. Husband’s Uber to NJ from LGA was $160 yesterday around noon. 45 minutes, pretty much the same amount of time it would've taken to get to Newark airport.
