I just checked our local school calendar, kids are off that week butting up to easter, and schools here in the northeast usually have similar schedules. I wouldn’t count on fares dropping.
If you book through the ship definitely ditch the tour and just get a map. You will want to grab a couple of chairs and get a locker before everything is full. The pools open at 10 I believe, slides at 11.
I think when we did the excursion through NCL they just put us in the taxi vans lines up, and we took a cab back, cabs are lined up at the pier and very much want your business, 15 minute ride to Atlantis.
If Atlantis is only charging $95, forget the excursion. We’ve done it both ways, whatever was cheaper, super easy to get a taxi both ways, about $5 a person. Beach is included.
I think the reason for the early departure is that the bridge traffic does get heavier in the afternoon. I think we always gave ourselves at least an hour window to get back to the ship when on paradise island (especially if we were docked in the farthest spot, bit of a walk from the taxi). We never had a problem with traffic.
Honestly I can’t imagine any that I know on a carnival cruise, never mind smoking it on a shop (one couple I referenced have a Viking cruise booked for next summer I believe).
So are you saying that those who use marijuana can’t afford expensive vacations? I know many people who smoke/vape/edibles, lawyers, business owners, school administrators, finance directors, social workers (one just got back from a 3 week trip to Italy). I don’t know what demographic you are referencing.
Budget? If you want to start your vacation early, depending on when you arrive, waterfront hotels in jersey city/weehawken are nice, restaurants and shopping, gorgeous views of Manhattan, easy transportation to nyc. You will need a taxi/Uber/Lyft from all hotels, I don’t think they have shuttles to cape liberty.
Two of my kids got their drivers licenses 1/20, they passed the road test at 12 but were sent home because the office closed at 4 and there were too many ahead of them. Got there first thing the next morning and waited 4 hours to just get their licenses. After the overnight lines during Covid, finally moved to appointments, but getting them was closed to impossible. NJ MVC has always been a sh*t show but Covid closings made it so much worse (and nothing meaner than a NJMVC employee, can’t blame them dealing with angry NJ residents all day).
Lol not even close! Before Covid you could, waits were 4+ hours. During Covid waits were 13+ hours, folks would advertise their services to sit outside in line for $. Now it’s appointment only, a year ago I finally renewed my license after trying for many months to get an appointment (jumping to sign up at midnight). Our system is SO broken.
I’ve given up, right now I can get an appointment in 2 weeks at a place 1 1/2 hours away, the other centers with appointments are booking for February and they’re 1 - 3 hours away, the rest just say no appointments available. Glad I have my passport book and card.
